So I've been interested with DnD for as long as I can remember. I've played a bit of Warhammer and a DnD style board game, but I want to get started with dnd beyond. I have an account and I just can't get started I don't know what a lot of it means or how to start. I would prefer to stick with the free stuff first and if I really get Into it and get a good party then I may consider buying stuff on there.
If someone could give me YouTube channels that may help or different websites, even just some advice that would be greatly appreciated. If there are any discord servers I could join to get started with a party and get some help there that would be amazing.
Unless you are already familiar with the basic rules of the game, I would suggest starting with reading the Basic Rules, which are free here on DDB. That has enough to get started. If you have a group you want to play with, you can get the Lost Mine of Phandelver adventure here on the site for free as well.
Watching a few D&D podcasts can help you to get a better sense of the flow of the game, and see the rules in actual play. Matt Colville has a whole series on YouTube on running the game, and it starts with the basics and has many follow up videos covering almost anything a starting or early player/DM might want to know.
As bigheartedguy said, read over the basic rules to get a general idea of how to play. But D&D is a group activity, so you will need a group. Best option is to get your friends to play with you, and you all sort of figure it out together. It will probably be a mess in terms of rules, but if you all have fun, you’re doing it right.
I would like to echo BigHeartedGuy’s recommendation of Matt Colville’s Running The Game series as it is an excellent resource for any DM, especially those new to the task. BHG also conveniently linked the free Basic Rules & SRD for you, as well as an adventure module suitable for DMs of any experience level, and specifically designed for neophyte/initiate DMs. I would also draw your attention to the bar at the top of every page on DDB, as there is a link for the “New Player Guide” that has some useful information for you as well. I hope that helps.
I recommend getting the essentials kit (physical bundle product) for new players that haven't bought anything yet.
It comes with everything you need to play an adventure (that it comes with) including some slightly expanded basic rules, but also comes with 2 codes for DDB. 1 gives you half off the PHB, the other gives you a free digital copy of the adventure the bundle comes with as well as 3 follow-up adventures free.
After that: XGtE, TCoE, and MotM gives you the most player options.

Lots of good advice here already, absolutely start with just basic rules and the free adventure to see if it catches your interest.
I'll also post what I said in another new player thread as a sort of purchase guide:
