Yeah, for armor, not sure how better to carry that than just donning it. Maybe for spare light armor and clothing items, you could roll a bit of that up in your bedroll?

You could always rename a chest as "Riding Horse", then assign gear to it. Uncheck the equipped checkbox next to the chest so it doesn't affect your character's weight calculation.
I do this to keep track of what my characters have at their homes, etc. Add a chest to inventory, rename it to whatever I want ("home", "bedchambers", whatever).
Anyone know the stats for these Containers?
Weight & space capacity 🐴💼 🤔
There are no listed stats for weight and space for saddlebags
Find my D&D Beyond articles here
Well that sucks
Someone get Jeremy Crawford on the phone 📞🧐
Someone figured something out for them: (https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/50749/how-much-can-saddle-bags-hold). Here are some real saddlebags for comparison: canvas (https://www.mountainridgegear.com/products/saddle-bags) & leather (https://www.statelinetack.com/item/tucker-traditional-saddle-bags-w-brass/E012732 BRN/?srccode=GPSLT&gclid=CjwKCAjwg5uZBhATEiwAhhRLHkwRselSeT3tJ0CpWTY_5gEEHL-vp0tK-Js6KQBkhBiFoEzmts7HORoCaugQAvD_BwE). (I know you like to emulate reality whenever possible. 😉)
I hope that helps.

I saw this but hadn't read the entire thread
Was hoping I overlooked something "official"(ly published by WoTC)
Thanks & yes, you're absolutely correct
Texting one of my players now regarding this as I'm just realizing her Backpack is stuffed twice it's weight capacity
But she was gifted a Riding Horse from her Life Events rolls from XGTE
When we did her character build
Starting her group's campaign over from scratch
Too much time had passed between our 1st & only game play & next upcoming
All 6 of us (5 players & myself DM) only remember the 3 highlights of our 4 hour game
Needless to say I'll be keeping a game log now & recording the audio 😞
For the Backpack, keep in mind that a number of items, like bedrolls, rope, and waterskins, can be strapped to the outside.
Edit: Oh saddlebags themselves weigh 4lbs; I imagine that's for a pair of them? But no listed capacity weight/volume.

Yup… got that 👍🏾
Also allowing Weapons found in Equipment to be assumed to be sheathed or carried by a “utility belt”
Shield: strapped to Backpack
Any other items found in Equipment are considered “carried by hand”
Trying to figure out what to do re: Armor 🤔

For small items like tinderboxes, I usually assume they are in pockets. I also assume that items like wands to have sheaths as well.

I figured out how to add a capacity to the Saddlebag
Now, is there any way I could put the Saddlebag onto the Riding Horse
Within app?

Two bags, customize one to left saddlebag, the other to right saddlebag. Done..

Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
