I'm going to be in a curse of strahd campaign as the only real healer. I'm just wondering how effective I would be as the main healer whilst playing a divine soul sorcerer. I know that my damage output would be limited due to the small number of spells. But this is something I'm willing to live with.
From some test builds I did, I found that you really need to choose one thing to focus on as a sorcerer, and accept that you can't do it all. So decide early on if you're a healer who can do sorcerer stuff, or a sorcerer who can do healing stuff.
Feats that grant spells can also help pad your spell selection, at least for low level spells. So, see if you have space in your build for stuff like fey touched, shadow touched, magic initiate, or one of the draconic gift feats from fizban's (one of them gives Cure Wounds).
Thanks I kind of assumed this would be the case. Because of the party I'm in I'll be a healer first so it's nice to know that I'll be able to do that. Even if I'm not as much of a sorcerer. I'm the only one able to heal in the party.
If you have healing word and enough 1st-level slots, you’re good. One of the advantages for you as a sorcerer is Font of Magic, so you’ll have more 1st-level slots at your disposal than any cleric would have. If I may also make another suggestion, take word of radiance as one of your cantrips, you’ll thank me later.
I agree. Healing word is probably your best bet. Until you get high enough for Heal, most other “healing” spells just aren’t worth using in combat. Aura of Vitality can be good out of combat heal if you can’t do a short or long rest. If you have the slot to spare (20d6 healing ain’t too bad, imo).

The good news about 5E is that it's far less dependent on magical healing during combat than older editions.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

Yeah, short rests should be your main source of healing. The only magic healing a party needs is to be able to heal someone at 0.
