As long as you remove the items from Your Homebrew Collection, the players won’t be able to see them. Then you can add it back to your collection when you’re ready, tell the players to refresh their pages and then they or you will be able to add those items to their character sheets.
I didn’t say to delete it, just to remove it from your collection. It’ll still exist in your creations, which is a completely separate list. You can always simply add it back to your collection whenever you wi Sh.
Are you possibly referring to share with the community? the public/private thing? I believe the item is currently private, not sure if it will let me share with the public, since it is so close to a regular dagger (I didn't put in the properties yet). Guess I need to toy around with it.
The stuff in your “creations” is everything you create unless you “delete” it. The stuff in your “collection” is the stuff you share in campaigns. If you remove something from your “collection,” it doesn’t get deleted, it’s just no longer shared in campaigns. You can always go back to your list of “creations” and add it back to your “collection.” Here are some pictures since you seem to no be grasping what I’m explaining:
Being extremely new to the Beyond website and interface, I joined the D&D official discord server, they had a spot for Beyond. I got that answer there. I really should have come back here and removed the post or my reply. My apologies. Sorry if I bothered you somehow. I absolutely wasn't trying to put words into your mouth, it was more my ignorance of the interface and understanding what you were explaining.
Can you hide a Homebrew item from players in your campaign?
I'd like to pre-stage certain things, but it appears they can stumble upon it if they are browsing items.
I'm guessing you're talking about D&D Beyond. I don't know how it works, but it looks like someone had a very similar question.

So delete the item basically, then re-add it. So no pre-staging online.

Just clicked shared, it states that private items are automatically shared with people in your campaign. So that's not an option.
No, I absolutely do not mean “share with community.” You have two different lists of Homebrew:

No worries, no need to apologize. I’m happy to help.
