I read there's currently no way to simply remove/delete proficiencies or languages directly from inside the character sheet. But is there a way to create a homebrew feat or item that would remove or replace a proficiency or language? If so, does anyone know how to do that?
Info: I'm currently building my character for my group's next campaign. Ranger 9 / Rogue 1. For my character it doesn't make sense to have proficiency with Thieves' Tools, nor know Thieves' Cant. My DM is letting me replace those.
For racial profs and languages: Buy Tasha's. Use Tasha Options to replace proficiencies and languages with other ones.
For everything else: nothing you can do.

I can't figure out how to use custom origin to build exactly what I want. Is it supposed to be totally flexible and I'm not understanding, or are there limitations? All I want to do is trade one language for one tool proficiency
I don't think the DM should let you replace it. You multi-classed in Rogue. Part of the "Rogue 101" training is proficiency Thieves Tools and Theive's Cant. If you don't want to own the tools just sell it. What you're trying to do would be like joining the Marines and saying it doesn't makes sense for you to be proficient with an M-16. You will be proficient with it whether you want to or not. If you can't pass the rifle range test then you don't get to be a Marine.
The only way to remove those (because they're class features, not optional ones) is to effectively ignore that they're on there. If you're allowed to replace them, just add custom ones instead by clicking on Proficiencies and adding from there.

Hm, that sucks. But good to know about Tasha's and thank you for replying!

You can usually swap features, languages, or proficiencies if the builder allows overriding defaults.
Top ai tools
I think I have to fully homebrew it rather than use "Custom Origin" from within the character builder
yeah because custom origin is 2014 material it doesn't work with the new 2024 background system. have to homebrew
