Me preordering the new PHB thinking I would get a digital copy. Not access to some webpages.
Refund request submitted.
You are getting a digital copy. That digital copy is just Enhanced Digital, which is a compendium and a digital toolset. DDB hasn't done PDFs in all the time I have been here. I heard one user say they once offered it though. Year 1 DDB was the wild west.

My profile may be 6 years old, but I wanted to try to get into DnD with this new release. So while that may be the case that PDF's where never given out, its not something that is apparent to the buyer, considering the Digital purchase shows tablets and what not the assumption is you are paying for a PDF that unlocks the digital content. This isnt the case, so I want a refund.
I missed the word "Beyond" in the products name when buying the bundle. So it is pretty much my own dumb fault for buying a product I won't use. I will still try to get a refund for it, even though it is only 10 euros, as I just don't see myself ever using DnD beyond for looking up rules. Hopefully one day they will offer a digitally downloadable pdf of this and I will gladly buy it.

With all the Enhanced Digital tools out there (a number which grows every year) and the number of years that they have all been available, I doubt that is the default assumption anymore. It is not something DDB is obligated to honor though per the terms and conditions of the site and your specific purchase agreement, so be ready for some disappointing news if they say no. Nevertheless, good luck in pursuit of your refund.

Out of the hobby before I even had a chance to get in.

I'm with you. I didn't pre-order since I did suspect it was just access to it via DNDB, but was really hoping for a PDF version that I could buy and download. My online players don't use DNDB and we have no desire to, so I was hoping for an easy way to share the info in the book since we can't just pass the hard copy around in person.
Instead I'm just not purchasing the 2024 PHB at all, I guess.
When I click Arcane Focus in my "book" it takes me to marketplace to purchase. Even my character creator doesn't reflect my purchase. What is this? I waited for days!

The tools on this site and the mobile app are WAY better than just Ctrl-Fing my way through a static pdf (never mind a series of them) but you do you 😛

It's sad, because they had it, but turned that off fairly early. Also on this note, D&D Insider had that ability too, and DnDB basically copied DnDI.

Its not about the functionality. I enjoy reading rule books.
I do not enjoy clicking through a website with pages that take 3-5 seconds to fully load.

Ummm how would a pdf "unlock" digital content.... When your purchasing access to digital content to begin with, me confused

they will never offer a DPF download, the App is better then a PDF anyway
I'm kinda confused by digital purchase as I'm just getting a website.
Yes you can download it through the mobile app. I don't think there is a way to download it on PC.
If you use the mobile app it can download the data to access from the app while offline. It still isn't able to be viewed outside the app.

My app isn't even showing my purchase.
