On a character sheet you goto the Features and Traits section, then Feats. There is an option there to Manage Feats. From there you can add any Feat you want.
If you find the Feat you want is on a "prerequisite not met" list you need to edit the character preferences in builder and turn off the "Use Prerequisite" option

It only tells me the ones that i can't use. Not the ones i can choose
I’m not entirely sure what you mean. To be clear, there are only a couple of free feats. If you haven’t purchased any of the books from this website, then you really can’t use any feats.
If you go on your character sheet and go to the Features & Traits section and click on Feats and then Manage Feats you will be presented with the full list of feats available to your character.
Nope, all it gives me is a dropdown called unavailable feats with grappler and the deep gnome thing. But I am just using this to keep a listing of my characters i use frequently so that i don't have to try and remember the starting points of them, so not having them really won't matter in the long run.

So you don't meat the prerequisites for the 2 free feats. Buy a book or get to 13 STR.
new guy here - I see what you’re saying with the drop down only including the Free Feats, but I’ve added some homebrewed feats and none of them are showing up either?
I am the DM, it’s my campaign in dndbeyond, and I am trying to add a feat for a PC character from a homebrew feat saved in my account collection. It gives me no options of the homebrew feats, only the two free ones.
I'm actually having some trouble as well. I've added the feats (Magic Initate and Ritual Caster) but when I go to my spells, there's no way to find the wizard cantrips and 1st level spells. Is there no way for me to access the feat so that I can choose the cantrips and spells or must I just write them down in my notes or something.
Once you've added the Feats, you can go back in to Manage Feats and on that particular Feat you can modify it for the relevant options. Sometimes it works that way that you don't get the options when adding it. You choose them as part of the Feat.
Also, for both those feats make sure that you took the (Wizard) version of the feat, so it knows what spell list to pull. If you just pick the version of the feat with no class name appended, it can't pick a spell list to provide you options from.

I'm trying this, maybe I got something wrong, but the only feat that shows any availability is "grappler"
Do I have to pay dnd beyond to access these feats?

Anything not part of the Basic rules has to be paid for, yes.

I'd like to give players a bonus feat. Is there a way to do that in D&DB?
Thanks,
Kai

And where do the players find the feat to modify?
I’m not sure exactly what you mean by “find the feat to modify” but if you explain what you mean I will be happy to help you.

Once a Marine, always a Marine.
Thanks Hightower.
I only have the options of grappler Svirfneblin Magic and Firearm specialist
Those are the only free ones. If you want the rest you have to purchase them. Most of them can be purchased here:
https://www.dndbeyond.com/marketplace/sourcebooks/players-handbook
You can either buy the “full version” of the whole book, or just the feats if that’s all you want.

On the Home tab of the character builder, the toggle next to “Homebrewed Content” needs to be on (red, to the right).
