WotC posted a video about new cover and wayfarers guide in case people were unaware. Below is a link to a table shown basically showing the main areas that got an update it doesntshow the magic items and feats will also be updated (it is said in the video they will be as well). Main thing of note is wayfarers only gives you alchemist subclass for artificer.
Well, main thing I got from watching the video was
1. that one of the Artificer subclasses got cut
2. Warforged AC calculation got reworked. Also the rest of the races got minor to major reworks as well.
3. Wizards of the Coast are absolutely amazing and updating content from Wayfinders Guide for free!
I’m pretty excited for this book! Kinda sad about the Warforged AC rework, but that’s just because I had a weird build that relied on it a bit. Also curious what they did to the other races and if the changes will be just as large?
@ZaneOlric dont know if you have seen anything from Morgrave Miscellany, but there is a feat for warforged on page 123 that allows them to absorb a set of magical armors properties over 8 hours, which seems to be what was referenced in the video, rather than an alteration to the calculation. Upside, you gain magical properties, downside, if there is a curse, you are stuck with it if Remove Curse wasnt used at the time of absorption.
WGtE was always promised to update to the finished material. That doesn't make them amazing for doing what they promised. And, they promised it would contain the artificer, by putting it in with one subclass it feels like they're doing the minimum to keep the letter of their word without fulfilling the spirit of their word. And by putting everything from WGtE into RftLW they have pretty much made WGtE obsolete, despite promising they wouldn't.
At least when they took the subclasses from SCAG and put them in XGtE they left some things to keep SCAG unique. They're not doing that here. So, I think quite a few of us who bought WGtE feel misled at the least.

If the only thing that interests you in WGTE is crunch/mechanical bits, then yes, I suppose that’s true. Although they were clear from the beginning that crunch would be reprinted if they did an Eberron hardcover. But I have seen no indication that most of the fluff or lore in WGTE will be repeated in RftLW. So, for me, it is not the case that “everything” from Wayfinder’s is being reprinted.
That said, if you are only interested in the crunch/mechanical stuff, and you own WGTE here, you can always just buy the RftLW exclusive crunch elements here and not the whole book

Everything in Wayfinder's will be in the new book. So if you want the other stuff your going to have to buy a new book. Which is what they said they wouldn't do.
I am not 100% sure that is true as they have yet to say if the Sharn chapter will be going in which is the only real compendium part that isnt pure mechanics (Though i will say half the book was mechanics but as was also stated you do not need to rebuy them if you dont want to using DDB). They have said they will be covering in detail things like the demon wastes but have yet to mention sharn. Now what that will mean is chapter 2 is going to be in the new book but massivly expanded upon by the sounds of it which wasnt hard as it was mostly a paragraph per location. Chapter 3, 4 and 5 were all mechanics so will be in the new book. Chapter 6 we do not know but will probably find out when the book releases.
Though to correct a point above you DO NOT have to buy the whole book DDB lets you buy everything in parts so you only have to buy the bits you do not already own if you own WFGtE

Can you point me to a source or news article that says that everything (including lore) from Wayfinders will be in Rising? This claim is not consistent with what I have seen from WOTC previously.
@Journer That is actually the first time i've ever heard of Morgrave Miscellany. Quick google search and now I know it was written by the Wayfinder authors. huh. Well now I know.
That is a pretty cool option! Glad to hear that the original AC calculation might remain. Does that mean that there will be feats for each of these races?
@ZaneOlric Honestly, I dont know if they will include feats for the Eberron races in Rising from the Last War, though it will be interesting if they do.
Also, you're welcome!
