I just had a look and it's not clear what they're actually asking Ikea to produce - they don't define what this gaming table is, or what it should do?
The picture looks like it's a table with a glass top, with a grid painted on it, that's then covered by wooden panels for everyday use.
For me, a large dining table is ideal, it just needs enough room for a battlemap in the middle of the table and everyone to sit around it, with space for their character sheets, dice, drinks & snacks and some rulebooks.

Gaming tables traditionally have a sunken area, either covered in felt or possibly a gaming mat. The idea is you can roll dice and never have them roll off the table. Its also easier to pick up cards and tokens and the like. Sometimes you can cover them up with a topper, which turns it back into a regular table. Finally, most good gaming tables will have fold out or built in cup holders, since you don't want to put cold drinks on felt and ruin your nice surface.
