Hey! I'm both a player and a DM on several DDB campaigns with content sharing enabled. I believe the pre-COVID limit was 3 campaigns of content sharing. Since I play in 2 campaigns and DM for a 3rd, does that mean that (after the COVID gifts expire) I will be unable to DM another campaign with content sharing (total of 4: 2 as a player and 2 as a DM)? Or is the 3 campaign limit the number of campaigns I can create with content sharing enabled?
tl:dr - Does being a player in a campaign with content sharing enabled take up one of my content sharing slots?
to answer your TLDR If you are not sharing the content it doesn't take up one of your slots.
Also, i believe the cap on content sharing campaigns for dm has been increased because of COVID to 5, and i remember reading someplace that once the cap gets brought back to 3, any campaigns with content sharing enabled will continue to have it regardless of if its over that 3 cap. You just wouldn't be able to make any more then that.
Apologies, i don't remember where I got this information form, i think one of the Dev updates back at the beginning of quarantine.
Edit: It says that information right at the top of the quarantine recourses page on dnd beyond.
And really, how many campaigns really have 12 players? I currently run two campaigns of 4 and 6 players. They sort of play in a "shared" world (there's ongoing jokes about the respective campaigns running into the consequences of aftermath of the other's handiwork) so for administratively, I got them all lumped in the same campaign. So unless you have a. really big table, the prior and current campaign caps are really quite generous in my view.

West marches campaigns could strain the 12 player limit.
But keep in mind, even though the player limit is 12, the character limit is 99.
