This combined with them not sponsoring Critical Role anymore (they haven't for last 4 episodes) and the less frequent new articles and their updates now being less frequent for smaller things... Yeah things are not looking good.
I doubt the site is going away but it certainly looks like they're focusing more on their own system, taking away devs time/attention from D&D 5th.
This looks bad. I'm sure most of the rumors are incorrect, but this isn't a good look. 4 major figures leaving at once, with all the other stuff that's going on, is not going to be good for this site.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

D&D Beyond still sponsors Critical Role. The only thing that's changed there is the call out at the top of the show wasn't really necessary any more.
I do urge everyone to not start doing too much deductive reasoning to "figure out what's going on behind the scenes" because it's pretty much exactly as Adam, Lauren, and Todd said on the dev update.
Yes, they're the public faces of D&D Beyond, but the dev teams, game content and other teams are all still strong and growing.
DDB's logo isn't on their sponsor bar anymore, either. I'd assumed DDB had withdrawn sponsorship, as well. That may be worth addressing more publicly, especially with this recent raft of top talent jumping ship all at once.

Just went to the website and it was there at the bottom with McFarlance, Hot Topic, Dark Horse and 826LA. *shrug*

We're doing one small murder-y thing for a bigger, better reason. The ends justify the means.
I know that hearing the news today can be a bit of a shock, but I want to reassure everyone that the reason y'all love this site is because of the hard work the Developers do to make things better every day. There are so many excellent people who work on D&D Beyond who are never on camera, who are the beating heart of this site, and that heart is still there and strong.
Also there is nothing nefarious going on, we all just have had opportunities that we're excited to peruse! It made sense to make the announcements all at once, but it's not happening exactly at the same time. I believe Todd leaves tomorrow, but I'm still around for another week and Adam a bit more than that. And we're all excited to tell you what we're doing next, but not until after we've completed the DDB adventure.
As my cleric likes to say, one job at a time. ;)
As for me, the amazing Mellie will be taking over my role as the new Community Manager! She's been working with the DDB community for years, has already been instrumental in helping with our social media, and is frankly way more knowledgeable about homebrew than I am! You are all in excellent hands!
Thanks everyone!
It's just highly unusual for three people who are the faces of the company to say they are quitting on the same day. It's really bad optics for the company and everyone is going to assume something fishy is going on. It would have made way more sense to space out the announcements if truly nothing is going on. Anyways good luck on your next venture, you'll be missed.

I'm guessing they meant the sponsor bar during the show itself. That's what I thought as well and didn't even know they had a list of other sponsors on their website.
I heard about Haeck leaving... days ago? Maybe a week?
Often the visible talent gets wooed by other companies or such. Once one takes an offer it makes it easier for others to as well. "Well, it won't be the same without X around... I guess I should consider..." *shrug*

OK. It seems a tad weird is all because there's no call out, no sponsor logos at the bottom right, no ads during the break, nothing. That's kind of an odd sponsorship deal. But your choice, I guess?
Thank you for clarifying.
The overall perception of things just screams "uh oh" in literally all avenues. These people leaving , on its own, isn't what made me concerned. It's this on top of so many other things that, combined, portrays itself as a glaring red flag.
And I personally find it difficult to think everything's OK, despite the reassurance, because the signs have been there for months now - this is just the biggest (to our perspective) and too often companies will say "it's fine" right up until the end.
For us it's a wait and see. But you can't blame us being concerned. Thank you for taking the time to clarify and reassure though.

It's not that unusual, particularly with people with relatively public positions who very likely have an extensive network, for several people to leave the same company in a short span of time. And spacing out the announcements feels like a coverup of a crime, except there is no crime.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
I definitely hope not. WotC could handle a service similar to DDB during 4e. They couldn't handle forums. If they get their clammy hands on DDB, it will become a sinking ship very quickly . . .
Betting this all gets folded back under WOTC soon. As long as we keep our content I’m fine.
Unlikely.
WotC tried to have their own digital toolset for 4th edition. It didn't go well. They didn't implement or handle it well, the used a sub model that increased piracy, and the product itself wasn't that great either. This is why they have completely relied on external services to handle this.
If D&D Beyond goes under, which I really doubt it will even with the concerning developments, it would only mean an increased investment to one of the other official toolsets (because people keep thinking D&D Beyond is the only one, which it isn't).

I think the team did a great job representing D&D Beyond and encouraging play of the D&D and the DDB platform.
That said, and as some of the folks learning has mentioned, representatives don't really "make" the product their representing. In other words, I was sad that Orlando Jones stopped making 7Up commercials, but 7Up really didn't change. When Orlando Jones left American Gods, it was one of many fatal wounds to the show. Reps for a service moving on I think is the former than the latter, or at least I hope so. I am curious where these various personalities who drove my attention to D&D Beyond are going to take me next, though a lot of my game time will still be parked here.

Why you shouldn't start ANOTHER thread about DDB not giving away free redeems on your hardcopy book purchases.
Thinking of starting ANOTHER thread asking why Epic Boons haven't been implemented? Read this first to learn why you shouldn't!
I second this. A public announcement about them still sponsoring would be good for optics.
EDIT: and OMG, I'm going to miss Builds Character with Lauren and Todd :'(

I can't find their sponsor list on their website?

Scroll to the almost bottom, right before background changes to black?
