What are the implications of multi-classing (if any)?
For instance, a player who uses the existing Bloodhunter (Archived) class, the player wants to multi-class into another class as well. Would electing to take an additional class result in their Bloodhunter (Archived) class being updated to the new class?
The updated version of the Blood Hunter class will effectively be a new class on D&D Beyond, with the full separation that brings.
If a player is currently using the existing Blood Hunter (archived) class on a character, they may continue to do so and nobody is going to force any changes on that character. They can multiclass and add levels in fighter, warlock, or any other class, just as they could before.
Interesting side note - technically it would be possible for an existing Blood Hunter (archived) to multiclass and add levels of the Blood Hunter 2020 class, but I don't recommend it! 😉
I really liked the old Ghostslayer. The class and subclass has some pretty solid improvements but level 10 Dark Velocity (darkvision, +10 speed & attacks have disadvantage against you in dim/dark), Level 11 Supernatural surge (become spectral and a free 3rd attack) and finally lv 15 Gravesight (magical darkness & invis vision) were MAJOR interests to me. Vengeful spirit was also really cool but Rite revival may be better. not sure yet.
Instead Ghostslayer gets Etheral step at lvl 7 (Surge but without the attack), Dark Augmentation at level 10 (+5 spd & +int on str, dex & con saves). The others, though nice, aren't comparable so not mentioning it for better or worse.
Don't get be wrong you may even say that Dark augmentation may be better as a whole but definitely not as cool or as much as a draw as the previous features.
In other news, how he (or even DDB) implemented the Lycan morph by changing it in the character builder is GREAT!! and if 'toggling' things like Rage or other features cannot be done then this is definitely an alternative fix
The Ethereal Step ability of the Ghostslayers is still a little vague. Are you visible? Can you attack creatures on the material plane? Can they attack you? Do you provoke opportunity attacks while in this form? Does it effect your AC? Does it effect non magical damage by giving either resistance or immunity to non magical damage?
I love all the changes, I just need a little clarification on this one ability.

As Mike Mearles says "it does what it says it does and nothing more".. So I would assume you only get to walk through walls, everything else is the same. A LOT more situational then the previous ability. (btw the spirit walk given by supernatural surge also pretty much said the same thing so nothing new, nothing less).
I agree, but if you can move through solid objects a sword is a solid object. So it says you can't get hit by physical attacks. My want of clarification is "is that actually intended?" Because I don't think it is.
The rules are pretty clear on how stuff works. If the feature intended the character to be immune to attacks from nonmagical weapons, it would state that.

If you're going that route, how can you walk ON the floor? Wouldn't you go right through it? It's a game with mechanics that may or may not ALWAYS align 100%. Think of the undead that can do this; Wraiths, I think even banshees and ghosts. There are also other monsters and a few spells/class features that do this too. The majority of them JUST give you movement benefit... Which isn't such a bad benefit.. but when you compare it to what ghostslayers had... The same EXACT thing, BUT with more uses (based off of WIS, not level) AND a free attack... That's the disappointment.
May I ask why I can no longer select a Subclass for the original blood hunter class? Is that intentional?
(what I mean, is, I have the original one in the character, and can not select a subclass.)
I haven't tried this myself, so I can't speak to this... But perhaps the class being archived prevents you from choosing a subclass since those are archived too?
The mods/staff probably known more than me about how that works.
Blood Curse of Bloated Agony As a bonus action, you curse a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you to painfully swell until the end of your next turn. For the duration of this curse, the creature has disadvantage on Strength and Dexterity ability checks, and suffers 1d8 necrotic damage if it makes more than one melee or ranged attack during its turn. Amplify. This curse lasts for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, the cursed creature can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, this curse ends.

But what's the DC? How do I calculate it?
It's your Hemocraft DC as explained in the class description above. (8 + INT mod + proficiency bonus)
Upon reaching 7th level, at the start of your turn, if you aren’t incapacitated, you can choose to magically step into the veil between the planes.
You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain, as well as see and affect creatures and objects on the Ethereal Plane. You take 1d10 force damage if you end your turn inside an object. If you are inside an object when this feature ends, you are immediately shunted to the nearest unoccupied space that you can occupy and take force damage equal to twice the number of feet you moved. This feature lasts for a number of rounds equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1 round).
You can use this feature once. Beginning at 15th level, you can use your Ethereal Step feature twice between rests. You regain all expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.
So you don't move through objects as if they aren't there, it's as if they are difficult terrain, so you are being affected by the material plane. It doesn't say you can't be seen, so you can be seen.
It does not state that it confers resistance or immunity to non-magical damage so RAW it doesn't. probably RAI as well, however, that is a concept you could bring up with your DM.
Can anyone explain the reasoning behind switching everything from Wisdom based to Intelligence based? I can't switch my existing character over to the new class because I do not have the prerequisites required to multi-class. I'm level 5 Bloodhunter (OG) / 2 Ranger. I'll have to keep the archived class (no big deal), but I was curious about the reasoning since it's seems like that's a pretty big switch. The Bloodhunter (OG) seemed like a bad-ass punisher/cleric, but now they are kinda like an Eldritch Knight I guess?
The Blood Hunter isn't about intuitive, natural skill and knowledge, it's about being modified and trained and drilled and programmed. That speaks more to intelligence than wisdom; intelligence is your ability to store facts and data and memorise details, whereas wisdom is intuition and gut instinct and learning from past experience. Obviously a blood hunter in the field would accumulate experience and knowledge that way, but that's not where they come from. They're 'made' by other blood hunters, trained and taught and indoctrinated. It all speaks to intelligence moreso than wisdom
Unfortunately, you won't be able to create new characters using the old archived Blood Hunter class. If you've already created one, you're good to stay with that character and even multi class. But can longer use the old one when creating a new character.
Quick question. Is there anyway to see the archived content? I have a level 4 blood hunter under the old rule set and I am trying to work out whether or not I want to migrate to the new version. My DM is willing to let me switch or stay. So I just want to see exactly where everything changed so I can make an educated choice.
Thanks.

Madness!! 😀
The new Blood Hunter implementation is definitely more complex than the previous version, so I'll be putting together some documentation for that.

That answer does not really touch on most of what I asked. But thank you for your response.

Matt said it was because they were supposed to have studied their enemies extensively.
