As announced on today's Dev Update, next week the Blood Hunter will be updated to the new version of the class! The old version will be renamed "Blood Hunter (archived)" for purely cosmetic reasons on Tuesday, and then officially archived on Thursday. Nothing of yours will be deleted, and any characters with the old version of the Blood Hunter will remain usable. However it will no longer be available for new characters, or if you remove the Blood Hunter content from your existing character. All new Blood Hunters created will use the new rules recently released by Matt Mercer!
So existing characters in the class won't have the updated rules automatically applied? The only way to have the updated rules for existing characters is creating them as new characters once the update is in place?

Correct on the first part. For the second, you can still edit the existing character instead of making a new one - and I believe you should be able to change from the archived version to the new one on the Class tab of the editor. (But I haven't dealt with switching from an archived UA to a published version using that method, so I can't personally confirm that that's how it works for sure. That's just what I've heard.)
What are the implications of multi-classing (if any)?
For instance, a player who uses the existing Bloodhunter (Archived) class, the player wants to multi-class into another class as well. Would electing to take an additional class result in their Bloodhunter (Archived) class being updated to the new class?

The updated version of the Blood Hunter class will effectively be a new class on D&D Beyond, with the full separation that brings.
If a player is currently using the existing Blood Hunter (archived) class on a character, they may continue to do so and nobody is going to force any changes on that character. They can multiclass and add levels in fighter, warlock, or any other class, just as they could before.
Interesting side note - technically it would be possible for an existing Blood Hunter (archived) to multiclass and add levels of the Blood Hunter 2020 class, but I don't recommend it! 😉

Just clarifying, will the new update be free to use when making a new character?

Thank you for the update I can’t wait.
Yes.

Awesome, now I really, really, really, can't wait.
Thanks V2Blast :D

Wait, when will we get the new blood hunter? like, what date?
Let evil fall and Light prevail!
I believe the charity period ends today or tomorrow, so presumably DDB will update it sometime in the next day or two.
Sorry, I am not sure I got all the information. When will the new Blood Hunter be released? Like, what hour, minute and second.
I really need to be prepared.

According to the video link in the first post, Adam states that they want the class to be updated on Thursday
I am not sure you understood my joke.

Is it thursday yet? 😋
Looks like they pushed the update to archive the old Blood Hunter class. We'll see the new 2020 version soon. Thanks Dev team for all you do!
So, as of 10:16 am 02/13/2020 Blood hunter is down and 404 error when you try to pull it up. Just sitting here waiting on the new one.
The new Blood hunter can be viewed for me, but it's not in character creation yet.
It's definitely there! You need to toggle on "Critical Role" in the options. 🙂
