As it stands, as a player, to see the player version of a map on the site, I'd have to go browsing through the adventure book. The problem isn't that I can't find it, the problem is I can't find it without seeing the spoiled version first. The pen and paper solution to this problem back in the day was tear out or loose leaf handouts. It would be nice to have a modern equivalent for adventure book content intended to be viewed by players.
I think this is exactly the point. It’s not a “are my players going to cheat or not,” question. It’s a “I have to actively try to not look at the spoiled version until I click the non-spoiled one.” A toggle and an ability to easily link it to the front page of a campaign page would solve it pretty easily.
As a DM in this situation, I'd argue that the players shouldn't necessarily be poking around looking for that map on their own in the first place. The DM can provide the link to the players version of the map if he wants them to have it, either directly, or by linking to it in the campaign notes.
Now, that is a workaround, for sure - don't get me wrong. I'm all for some sort of solution that let's the players see Player Only or DM Approved information from an adventure. I just have no idea what that would include or how DDB could filter for it. It seems very much subject to what the DM wants his players to see, and would evolve as they play through the content. Some sort of toggle that opens up content room by room, once it's been completed by the players? I really don't know - it's complicated.
I mentioned this in another post but It would be amazing to see an interactive version of the chult map whereas the player's version of the map uncovers the completed one as they click on a hex.

That would be nice. The best solution in the meantime is to pester your DM into getting proficient in Photoshop. I'm running PotA right now, and as my players discover new locations, I update their map by layering the player map over the DM map, and erasing the part to be revealed.
I'm currently playing a game of ToA, so I can't do the same thing there, but I've been bugging my DM to let her know how to do that lol.

I posted this in another thread, but there is this I found (I think it uses the maps released for free with the Dragon Magazine):
It already has the layers set up, with a hex cover layer, so you can one-click reveal with a hex brush sized at about 50xp.

True could use photoshop and I would say I'm very proficient in it (I'm a photographer) I only use the iPad pro at the table, carrying a laptop to the gaming group is just too cumbersome at the moment. And as far as I know, there's not much that would be suitable for that job.
I meant that as more of a session prep kind of thing. I don't think there's an easy way to reveal the hexes in game, but having an updated map each session would be helpful at least.
So far I haven't seen any changes to D&D beyond except versions of player maps. Where's all the upgrades we are being promised for our monthly fees? Some of the things they are promising can be done in a day.

Thanks. Looks like bug fixes mostly. Important things but where's the new features like being able to restrict what you share with players in your campaign? Can't be that hard to make a menu showing what we bought and what we can share with players. Where's the blank DM page we can use as a screen. DM features aren't getting any support.

New homebrew features have been added (background and feats).
The short-term goals are the mobile app and the character sheet revamp. DM features are being addressed and will be released after those.
Whats this about.. i don't see anywhere to add player maps.. or any real content?
Just some campaign notes..seems very limited..

When you go into Compendium > Adventures and you look through the various adventure books you will find that the books contain DM and Player version of maps. You have to have purchased access to the books or have them shared with you through a campaign to see the maps.
Player Version of a map from Lost Mine of Phandelver:
I see so there is no actual custom campaign like content you can upload. say like, you can with obsidian portal.... seems the scope of this DNDB is very limited and ive blown 80usd for the share licnse and the players manual., as i have the hard copy dnd5e manuals and an ultimate Fgrds license.. hmm wonder if i can get my money back..
Unless i guess i can hope the features will expand?
I do like the interface and the char setup.
If you had an exporter of the char sheets to XML? so i can build an FG importer then,, it would be worth it..
Any chance of that? Should not be hard to do.. assuming you store the chars in a DB or in XML already?

In Roll20, I think:

This is great, thank you! Any chance the player maps will ever see a Fog of War feature?
I use Pixelmator on the iPad for this. Add a layer over the player map and colour it in, then erase the relevant parts as I go.
Oh snap.
This is a really nice update :)
Thanks a lot
This is amazing :)
What about Player maps for The Volo lairs?
