@Randall being the 1st to the door you can see and hear the people of the town react in shock to a young man hurrying through the streets shouting a warning, "They're coming!... The goblins are coming!... Less than an hour out!... Goblins from the Northwood!"
Others are soon aware as the young man passes by the tavern his warnings sound the loudest. All can hear the warnings now.
The Northwood is north of town and doesn't start until crossing almost an hour of open plains. There is a town watch and a small contingent of soldiers. There are no walls.
