Lani Frostthorn, a halfling monk, is a cartographer from the Cobalt Soul out in the world working on her maps. She had been helping escort caravans to assist in getting herself from one place to another.
Quill, is a tall lanky Tabaxi that always seems to be at the edge of the caravan, constantly looking around, mainly behind him. He is approachable and friendly though he does get a bit jumpy when you approach him and for whatever reason he is not already staring at your approach. Dressed in leathers with a dark cloak that pretty covers the rest of his features besides the bow and quiver strapped to his back. You all have painfully learned that playing cards with him is futile gesture and he is extremely lucky, at least you have not figured out how he is cheating but he has got to, so far he has not lost a hand.
Great, it seems like the caravan angle works for the majority of you, and on the journey you have all gotten to know each other. We'll say the caravan originated in Nicodranas on the Menagerie Coast to get the coast dwellers in the country, then stopped in Zadash to pick up the Empire folks, and then went to Hupperdook, where your contract ends. Ambre lives there and you guys agree to stay together and work with one another. After all, there is safety in numbers, especially during these dark times.

I almost imagine this as like a "we just got off a job and there's a party going on in the city, let's all just chill here for a few days" and then events will unfold that will eventually form you guys into a proper adventuring party. Maybe some of you know one another before the caravan mission, maybe you do not. I will leave that up to you guys, unless there are objections to this hook.
Just saying so the party don't think I ghosted the game: I'm finishing the last details of my character's history with the DM by private messages. My heroic chronicle ended up needing a lot of details. I'll be a wizard,Harry a wizard.
I hear that, and with the random rolls it can get quite detailed. I thin kI am done fiddling with my character but I need to give it a once over again today once I clear some work out of the way.
Some of you went ahead and fleshed out some of the NPCs from your background like your family, allies, rivals, etc, and I am glad you did, that helps me know what you expect from them in the event that you all meet them in the world, and also fuel ideas for potential adventures down the line, so please feel free to keep doing that! :) Be as detailed as you desire. I do not need to know every detail of their life, but even just a few notes on their personality help me bring them to life in an authentic way!
Other than that, I think we are just about ready to go. I will post an IC thread on the PbP forum and provide a link here in the recruitment thread. Expect that to go up sometime tomorrow - I am pretty busy today, so I don't think I'll be able to get it posted by today, but if I do, you can find it here!

Kind of my case, but I also didn't make things easier on myself. It was really fun though. And here's Johnny the character:
Frederick is a tall, pale man of white hair and golden eyes. He is natural from the Zemnian Fields, as his accent clearly shows, and walk always with his spellbooks at hand. He dons a rather simple gray robe under a black coat. A polite individual, but easy enough to talk, prefering to called by the nickname Fritz. Close to him sits an grey horned owl with vivid green eyes, a familiar he calls Hans. The duo have entered the escort of the caravan in Zadash where the man was visiting the library of the Cobalt Soul, at least until he started feeling need for coin. The travel to Hupperdook was the perfect soluction for his dilemma.
Its funny, as its the first time I've really dug deep into the heroic chronicle stuff. I see some of where the CR characters backstories come from. Its clear how much of that Matt pulled together for the book based on how he helps his players build characters.
The roll20 link is posted in the campaign page, so go ahead and join that when you get the chance. I will be posting the IC thread and providing a link to that soon!
Additionally if everyone could send me some character art you would like to use for tokens, please send it my way as soon as you can!
Range...leaning toward Arcane Trickster....but not sure, and will probably multi-class into fighter, again not 100% sure.

I'm good with it. I also did not expect to be the party tank but I can roll with that. Just need to buy a shield.
