The temple is well light by the dawn's light but also by impressive mirrors set up to amplify the light coming into the beautiful and ornate stained glass windows. At first entering a body might be awestruck but the busy clergy quickly bring you back to terra firma. Moving towards the altar the party pass several people in the pews praying as well but none as fervently as the black haired woman hunched over and rocking slightly as she repeats a prayer.
Religion check anyone?
"Alanna," Cal calls out in a soothing tone approaching the clearly troubled woman but she doesn't respond to the name. "These are friends of the church. We are sending out to Windstaff," the halfling explains.
The woman however still gives no indication she's going to response.
Cal gestures to her then towards Arthos and then lingers to watch over the party.
Focusing on Alana however Arthos is suddenly hit by a wave of only pure terror as inky black fills your mind! Wisdom save, please.
>>>>>>> whomever isn't going to into the temple
At the temple stables you're able to attain the horses/cart needed to travel to Windstaff.
Loa follows Arthos into the temple, happy to let the Aasimar do the talking. All the while watching the cleric carefully for any sign of hesitation or falsehood in her speaking (Insight 5)
Busying himself with the preparations, Gareth will get the needed horses saddled up and the cart/wagon sorted, including the proper bags, feed, and waterskins, setting them up to be easily ridden/driven out of the stable when the others are ready. When all is good to go, he sits up in the driver's seat of the wagon and whispers a bit of a prayer to the Dawn Father for safe travels and effective remedies for Windstaff.
Edit: Gareth will make sure Rattinger's mule and cart are taken to the stables and well-tended (see post below). The party can decide if they want a horse-drawn wagon or a the mule-drawn cart in their entourage. If the mule and cart won't slow us down, Gareth can just ride a horse instead of dealing with the wagon...
Letting Gareth take the mule and cart with him on his trip to the stables (OOC: I assume, so it is not just left unattended in the street - if Gareth doesn't take the cart I will still leave it in the street... it would be some gutsy thieves to steal a mule and cart from in front of the temple of Pelor), Rattinger follows along behind Arthos and Loa into the temple.
He feels his anxiety about being in the city relax considerably upon entering the house of Pelor. In another life, he could have seen himself among the clergy and earthly attendants of the divine. Seeing the distraught woman, he feels sympathy for her obvious trauma, as well as growing concern for what horror could have reduced a woman of the faith to this state.
Not familiar enough with Arthos' magic to think he could assist in any way, Rattinger will give him and the woman space and hang back and observe their interaction. Has Rattinger heard the woman's prayer before in his time with the disciples of Pelor? Religion 11

If he notices a pattern in the speaking he will wait u til the prayer ends, or is about to repeat, and then interrupt. “We are headed to Windstaff in the name of Pelor. Knowing what you saw would be a great help to us. Is there anything at all you can tell me?” (Persuasion?: 17)
Rattinger stands riveted watching the drama unfold with Arthos and the disturbed priestess... but under the circumstances he fears he would have been of more use had he just gone along to the stables.

Heading Loa plea Alana turns to face the Minotaur but as Arthos attempts to delve deeper her eyes grow wide and she begins to scream holding her hands on the side of her head. Her screech fills the silent temple and all activity stops!
"Stop...," Caladon says in a loud stern voice as the halfling steps between the party and Alana. Cal then turns to the girl murmuring something with his hands casting sleep and the cleric slumps. "She needs to rest," he sighs shaking his head. "Go please...Windstaff needs your help. Here...guardian Longshadow will join you," he adds next as a towering lavender skinned drow with long silver dreads wearing a golden breastplate etched with a sunburst comes marching up to the group.
"What are you doing? Torturing the poor girl," Longshadow asks with a cocked eyebrow on their face.
The silver cocked eyebrow on the drow's attractive face, bisected by a scar, lowers slowly. Longshadow looks over the party as an unreadable expression takes over.
"Pilgrims of faith shall we move on," Longshadow begins again looking over the party still. "Clearly these people are in need of assistance," they add next as clergy collect Alana onto a stretcher removing her sleeping body from the temple.

"As you say, Caladon. We shall be on our way now." Loa watches the young woman being taken away, wondering what could have such an effect on a person."Arthos, Rattinger, let's go find the others."
Loa heads back outside and makes his way toward the stables, where the others should be preparing the horses.
Rattinger follows along, eager to reunite with the others and get underway. On the walk back to the stables he will ask Arthos, “Did you draw any clues from the young woman’s mind?”

"That was most peculiar, I've never seen a reaction like that to my divinations," Arthos says to Longshadow and Rattinger, obviously surprised. "All I could sense was incredible fear, I was almost draw into it myself. Hopefully the horses are ready to go, cause we need to get moving. Whatever it is, I have a feeling it's worse than we think."
Arthos hurriedly follows Longshadow out of the temple, curtly apologizing to those interrupted by the outburst on his way.
OOC: I will be AFK until tonight, Arthos is ready to get on the road.
Reunited the party gets underway. Longshadow barely utters a word but greetings to Thordilgon and Gareth. They mount a steel gray horse and move ahead of the party slightly on the north road out of Triskele heading toward Windstaff. The town is still indoors in the blustery late winter day. The weather stuck between winter and the easy reach of spring. The road north is barely busy. A single cart passes the party as they move north. A root vegetable farmer who's wrap up against the whipping winter wind that occasional lashes at the party. Longshadow seems stoic and vigilant. They look ahead but keep an eye out on the barren fields that line both sides of the north road.

(Travel - 24 - Do we have our own horses? Or are we using the wagon?)
As the party ride, Loa stays near the middle of the group. Having grown up in the temples, his knowledge about the world was more theoretical than practical, and others were more likely to spot dangers. Instead, he considered what had happened in speaking to the young lady. This was a strange reaction and he had no idea what would cause such a thing. Still, it was a warning in its own way. What they were getting into clearly terrified her in some way, or something messed with her mind. Implanted fears could be even worse than what was witnessed in reality.
By being in the centre of the group, Loa also hoped to be able to respond quickly if a threat did arise.
Rattinger elected to accept a horse. That way Gareth can handle the cart and the group can move as quickly as possible.
He tries to push his growing concerns about this mission aside and focus on keeping his eyes and ears alert.
Not wanting to answer for Arthos about what happened with the priestess, he speaks of what else is on his mind. “Should we talk about our plans for approaching Windstaff? We know something has happened but we don’t know what, or if it’s still happening. We lack information, but we may have surprise for now. Do we ride into town and announce our presence and demand answers? Or do we approach more cautiously?”
While he asks it like a question, it is clear from his tone that Rattinger is advocating a careful approach.
