Belle smiles with blood splattered cheeks. "Well damn."Belle takes a look at her calves, "Oh these? I've just hit the final stages of my training. Cmon inside. I'll start cooking. You relax somewhere."
As Belle heads into the kitchen she throws three marbles out of her pocket and from them sprout an Earth, Wind, and Fire Elemental. The powerful creatures stand still for an intimidating moment before they reveal their instruments and start singing about a month you've never heard of.
Posting 1: Hello all weathered and weary travelers. I thank you for your interest in our humble academy and welcome you to stay and learn all you can!
This though comes at a cost, as many things do, and that is sustainability. I know not what arrangement former owners had for stocking provisions. But since the calamity I doubt those deals or routes still stand. With this in mind I would ask that any who're brave enough venture out into the surrounding wilderness and hunt whatever provisions they can find. Coin will be paid for any donated to the Academy. Or you may keep your spoils for yourself.
The going rates are as follows: Small creatures will trade for 10 gp Medium creatures will trade for 40 gp Large creatures will trade for 120 gp Berries, Roots, and other Medicinal Herbs will trade for 25 gp a pound
It is not advised to go beyond any beast larger than an average beast of burden as such creatures are normally more of a hassle than they'll be worth.
(Does anyone know if this is like Roondra's Magical Mystery Tour in that it's a once a rl day thing? Do we need to make Survival or perception checks? Or is that we just say we do it, and its done? OR is it all just up to the players?)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Yog - [Tortle]Druid/Warlock - Circle of Stars/Celestial (Libretalia)
(usually I allow players to make similar checks once per battle, however, the quoted text was from Eider, and he never laid out a more sophisticated system.
I would like to see more opportunities for you guys to participate when you're not locked in combat, so I encourage you to propose how you'd like to see the above post play out.)
(I like it except, I have been avoiding defining in game days for chapter 2. Make it a real week maybe?)
(Edit: also make it a broader skill check. Not only survival, but survival or nature, maybe even some of the other unpopular skills. Also you must post a convincing tale of your accolade =P )
(Double edit: If it blows up we'll devote a thread and add options)
((Yeah switching to an IRL weeks sounds good. So does making it survival or nature. Again, was kinda just spit-balling the idea instead of proposing something concrete and final))
Currently playing in: Quest for the Shunned City, Coliseum of Conquest, DragonDenn's Dragonlords, Shipwrecked on Fugue, Tomb of Annihilation, Razor's Lost Mine of Phandelver, The Lost Kenku & One Grung Above
Currently DMing: Princes of the Apocalypse, Out of the Abyss, Coliseum of Conquest—The Arena (Sometimes)
A tall human woman stands at the edge of the once proud city of Sel'eman, though now it is a far cry from the stories that drew her here. A long matted braid of brunette hair stretches from her head to the middle of her back. Though physically calm and composed, dirt and clay caked along her arms and legs and the tattered clothes that cover her body betray her wild nature. In her hand she carries a spear with a long wooden haft to the end of which is affixed a stone blade, stained red with dried blood, and lashed into place with taunt leather strips. The woman skulks through the streets around the town, introducing herself to the city's various arena-masters as Ka Spearslinger, and looking to get into the next fight for newcomers.
A gaunt young human woman with fierce green eyes approaches the large structure that is the coliseum. Eyeing it up and down, she grits her teeth and plows forward. Limping as she walks in to introduce herself and enlist for an opportunity to prove her might. She eventually succumbs to her pain and pulls on a pair of gauntlets. With these gauntlets, her posture immediately strengthens as a surge of strength runs through her. She winces at her weakness, but she knows that this is the only way to prove herself so she powers on. Finally reaching the registrar, she signs her name "Lucille Borenar", flips her hair, and charges out of the building to find a place to rest.
The next match will feature any interested level-3 competitors. The match will begin October 28, 1 PM PST. Or sooner, if all level 3 contestants gather before then.

If we're looking to avoid combat, maybe a Survival check once an in-game day to see who gets what?
Herbs DC13
Small Creatures DC15
Medium Creatures DC17
Large Creatures DC20
