Ankita notices her crew head upstairs after the commotion at the bar. She waits a bit to ensure no one is following them and proceeds up the stairs.
Perception:15
Once she reaches the second floor and sees the woman playing games, she heads over to her knocking a few elbows on the way, basically ignoring the game going on and says, "Hello, I am Ankita, might you be Tarina? Captain Zodge sent us." and she motions to the rest of her people. "Would you have a moment to chat with us? We are here on business. Though I am sure my friends here would love to take you up on some games as well once we conclude."
Ankita - The woman stops shaking the dice in her hands and turns to you, "Aye. Zodgey sent ye eh? Well, ye'd better 'ave a seat then. We can discuss business o'er a few rounds o' Baldur's Bones." She motions for a snooty looking halfling to leave the table to clear a spot for you. The halfling rolls his eyes and leaves the table with a grumble. Before he leaves, you notice that his pile of winnings was almost as big as Tarina's.
Baldur’s Bones. Baldur’s Bones is a popular dice game in the taverns of Baldur’s Gate. Each player requires several six-sided dice. The rules are as follows:
Each player puts the agreed ante in the pot.
Each player rolls three dice. Play then proceeds clockwise around the table, with the host of the game going last.
On their turn, a player can choose to “stand” or “roll.” If the player stands, the next player can take a turn. A player who rolls takes an additional die and rolls it. If the total of their dice exceeds 21, they “bust” and are out of the game. Otherwise they can keep rolling additional dice until they either stand or break.
After everyone has had a turn, the highest point total (excluding players who busted) wins the game and takes the pot.
All - Anyone can join the game with Ankita and Tarina. In addition to Baldur's Bones you can see a few other games being played around the room. Two sunburned dockworkers sit across from each other at one of the other tables; a thin elven woman with a faded tattoo of an anchor on each of her forearms, and a broad half-orc with a blue bandana and two golden hoops in his ear. The elf has one hand flat atop the table and with the other, she swiftly stabs a short but sharp looking dagger deftly between her wide-stretched fingers. The thin woman stops after a few seconds then hands the dagger and a bottle of rum to the half-orc across from her. The bigger man takes a swig from the open bottle before he takes his turn stabbing between his own fingers. You hear grunting and cursing from your left and see arm wrestling at another table.
If any of you would like to try your hand at Five-Finger-Filet or Arm Wrestling, just let me know!

Seeing Ankita approach a woman that identifies herself as Tarina, Damian moves over, taking a seat next to her. "The business we are here to discuss is not something Captain Zodge would have us talk about over a game of Baldur's Bones Tarina. We will be quick though and don't disturb you any further in your apparent win streak should you just step aside with us for a short moment. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be on Captain Zodge's bad side." Damian says in a lowered stern voice, glancing over at Tarina for her reaction. Persuasion/Intimidation: 19 rolled with advantage should anyone give the help action, otherwise go with first role.
Damian - The chatter at the table dies and all eyes are on you and Tarina. She smirks without looking at you and shakes her head as she gives a small chuckle, "Ye musn't 'ave 'eard me, m'lord..." The title dripping with sarcasm and disdain, draws a few snickers from the other players, "I said we can discuss business o'er a few rounds." She looks up and over to you as her arm drops casually to her side, brushing her cloak aside from her scimitar, "Or are we gonna 'ave a problem?" She stares unblinking at you or a few seconds then adds, "Zodge doesn't scare me and neither do you. But I could use your 'elp tonight with someone who does." She motions for the player seated next to her to leave the table and pulls the chair out for you, indicating it with a nod of her head, "So either 'ave a seat or show some steel, either way shit or get."
Ankita's grow huge at the anticipation of playing a strange game among the situation they are in. But as she watches the game being played a bit, she realizes, I know this one! She gladly sits down next to Tarina. "Ready when you are Tarina." Then she watches the exchange between Damian and Tarina and realizes the stakes are a bit higher than she realizes. And also, who is she having problems with? Wonder if it relates to theirs?
Damian decides to take the offered seat, a bit confounded over this woman that is neither scared of them or Captain Zodge but at the same time believes his team would be of help with someone else who does scare her. "So be it."Damian says coldly and casually puts the agreed ante in the pot. "It could of course be helpful if you could mention what or rather who troubles you Tarina." Damian adds, waiting for the game to get started.
Remi breaks into a big grin. He pulls up a seat, eager to get into the game. “Let’s see what you’ve got, Tarina. I’d like to take some coin off of your hands tonight.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
All - Tarina smiles and says, "Is five silver too rich fer ye?" She then tosses 5sp into the center of the table. If anyone ups the ante, she will meet any amount. Once the antes are in the pot the game begins.
Please roll 3d6. If you'd like to cheat, please make a DC 10 Sleight of Hand check in addition to rolling 1d4. If successful, you can add or subtract the d4 from your total each time you roll for the rest of the game. Only the one successful Sleight of Hand check is needed.
There is one other player in addition to Tarina at the table, a dark skinned human woman with medallion hanging from her neck. The medallion has a symbol embossed on its face, a crystal orb with many eyes inside it. She introduces herself as Rahima Sajiressa, an astrologer and acolyte of Savras. After introductions are made, the game begins.

“Allow me to afford you a bit of privacy,” Samuel says as he begins to play and sing some sagas of The Old Wars loud enough to muffle the voices of Tarina and the group to any eavesdroppers, but not so loud that those playing dice struggle to hear each other. Samuel had never been one to throw away coin at gambling, he preferred to make coin, not lose it. Samuel dances about the room, using Prestidigitation to make accompanying musical notes to match the melody, making sure not to draw attention towards his companions and Tarina playing dice. Performance: 12
Seeing a gold piece drop into the ante, Samuel will grant Damian a Bardic Inspiration to help Damian keep that coin or for use in the following conversation.
A gold piece? Ankita thought this was a friendly game. At this cost, she thinks, I'll only be able to play one round. She throws in her gold piece and rolls her die:
Samuel - You get a fair amount of cheers and raised mugs as you make a circuit of the room, "Aw, yeah I love the Wars!" calls out a portly blue dragonborn fellow. He tosses you a silver piece and sings along.
