Eldeth the dwarf stands up to be ready, but keeps her back pressed against the wall. To anyone near her, she says "Here we go. I've been expecting this to happen ever since I got here. Best to stay out of their way and let them get this out of their system."

First, if he can, Tanis tries to use his darkvision to try to see whether anyone is coming from the guard tower and how many guards are visible in there. Perception: 22
Tanis hears Eldeth suggest keeping clear, but is focused on several things: - If possible, it is key to protect and befriend Stool if indeed the sentient mushroom can form telepathic links between the party as the orc had said. Seems as if the human woman and one or both goblins have come to the same conclusion. - The last thing we need now is more attention from the drow guards. - Speaking of which, this brawl may become be a major pain for the bugbear enforcer, and the drow may well lay the violence at his feet. Assisting the bugbear now may help win him over as an ally, to be part of the escape party if the opportunity comes. - Tanis doubts even the bugbear can take on the quaggoth. And didn't Eldeth say the quaggoth thinks it is an elf? Hopefully it would subside if the orc backs down. And subduing the orc seems more feasible. - Tanis considers gently pulling Stool away from danger, but is worried the mushroom creature will take fright at a stranger unexpectedly touching it. Hopefully the human or the goblin with the tail does it.
IF the orc hasn't already been subdued when Tanis acts: Murmuring an apology to Eldeth (and Petmailer) in common and attempting to catch Vrah's eye, Tanis lashes out low with his legs and feet, trying to entangle the orc's lower legs. Mechanically: if possible, taking the help action on the orc, hoping to help Vrah (who goes next) attack or grapple. Standing back up if possible so as not to end up prone.
IF the orc has been subdued but the quaggoth is raging and fighting, Tanis keeps his back to the wall next to Eldeth and Petmailer and takes the dodge action.
IF the fight is no longer in progress, Tanis moves to the edge of the cave and looks out through the bars (use the Perception check above).

Vethna frowns at the oncoming orc and gives a sigh. Turning to the mushroom-person... "Let's get out of their way..." She tries to get the creature to move with her off to one side.
Shoowaa, if you're sticking with the plan to try to throw dirt or sand at the quaggoth, that four missed. Let me know if you'd like to do something else or move out of the center of the action.
Vethna ushers the mushroom to the side as Shoowaa tries to throw some dirt toward the charging quaggoth, then moves out of the way.
The quaggoth is moving much faster than the orc. His arms are spread wide with his claws out (think Wolverine from the X-Men). He makes two quick swipes at the orc's torso.
The powerful creature slashes open the orc's sides and he collapses in a heap. For all his bluster, the orc was no match for it. As it falls to the ground, those of you with dark vision see something jagged and shiny clatter from the orc's grasp onto the cave floor.
Anyone near the gate will notice that guards inside the watch tower have heard the noise and have started scrambling out of the tower headed in your direction.
It's strange. You speak the words and make the motions that would normally cause your mage hand to appear...and nothing happens. It's as if something is blocking you from accessing the magic of the weave.
Seeing that the fight is over and noticing the Drow are starting to move, Vrah speaks up in common, "Move back against the wall, leave the Orc to its death!" As Vrah moves over and stands on top of the object on the ground.
Vrah is holding his hands up as the drow enter and then points to the Orc, "He started it with that thing over there." Pointing to the Quaggoth, "Orc was stupid to start in with that thing, it was over before it started."
Shoowaa frowns at the cowardly prizoners not helping the orc, but maybe he's not much better, hiding away from the drow guards. They could have had a chance to kill that thing if they acted together he thinks but says nothing.
Vethna stays by the mushroom person. She eyes the object the bugbear stepped on, wondering just what the orc had on them, and where he had gotten it. Before the guards arrive she whispers to the mushroom, using which ever language she had determined the thing understood... "Can you speak to me? To all of us?" She gestures briefly to include the others in the chamber.
The guards open the gate and quickly assess the situation. Two step inside with swords drawn. Three others stand just outside the entrance with crossbows at the ready.
One of them says "Good riddance. That orc has been nothing but trouble since he got here." He points at the quaggoth and the bugbear with his sword. "You two. Clean up your mess. Drag him out of here and dump him in the webs for the spiders."
The other guard says "The rest of you, get down on your knees and face the wall. If any of you try something, you'll be following the orc into the webs."
The mushroom creature moves behind you, snuggling up close against your legs for protection. It isn't responding to your questions, but then... It doesn't have a mouth to speak.

Phodoxia had not yet even found a place to hide, scurrying along the wall trying to get around the combatants, before one of them is on the ground, bleeding his life out. As she sees the quaggoth withdraw, she gets up and runs towards the fallen orc, stopping a few feet away when she realizes he's already dead. Awkwardly she wrings her hands again, remembering the odd, futile feeling of trying to access magic she had already experienced.
Although she notices the jagged object clatter to the floor, when her gaze follows it, she sees something else that strikes her tired mind with far more importance---the hood she snatched from the guards when they first dragged her in, lying crumpled and trampled on the ground. Her eyes grow wide with an unreasonable terror as she beholds the object, as if its presence signals some vastly deeper evil to her. As Vrah strides over to shield the dead orc and shout his instructions, she leans down and snatches up the hood, taking it with her as she scurries out of his way. But she's not looking at the bugbear, or anyone else---she is looking for the drow guards.
When the guards enter the cell, she slinks closer to them as non-threateningly as possible, waving the hood. "You... you dropped something earlier! May I keep this? It's all dirty now."
The guard closest to you ignores the hood you're holding out. He shoves you roughly away from him toward the wall. "I told you to get down on your knees. Get away from me you filthy goblin."
"Okay, okay, all right," Phodoxia grumbles, and she crawls away towards the wall, still clutching the hood. Kneeling down, she pulls the hem of her undertunic over her knees as far as it will go, and then, with a little excited toothy smile, pulls the hood over her head and shoulders. Much warmer. Okay, she can't see, but she'll fix that later.
Kisiki follows the instructions given to him by the guards. He kneels on the hard, uneven ground and faces the wall. Soon he will have an opportunity to think of some escape plans and talk with some of the other prisoners he already hears colluding in the darkness.
Whatever clanged to the floor in the darkness after the Orc's death wail is something of interest to him. He'll have to find out who got it.
Shoowaa isn’t intested in getting whatever the orc had, seeing the big blue monster is lurking over the now dead orc with the orc’s blood. He figures he needs more information before trying to break out, or perhaps the best way to escape is when they are doing ‘work’. He reluectantly obeys the drow, seeing the other prizoners are not willing to fight he doesn’t want to be the next to end up dead. He curls his tail under him to prevent being stepped on.
