As you walk through the portal, the world fades to black, and you hear the tall man’s cackling as you exit to the other side of the portal. You’re surrounded by dolls, far more than the 193 the council has said had been taken…
You turn, about to ask where all of the other dolls had come from, when you stop with a start. The man is changing. His skin is peeling, melting from his balding head, sloughing off of his hands, and falling at his feet. Where he stood Is a creature out of hell itself. It wears a crown of flame, whiplike tail snapping behind it. It’s head shows feline feature, but nothing like the tabaxi you saw earlier. It’s ears are far to big, and the eyes, the eyes are dark slits of nothingness, as he hisses, “you thought you could stop me. Ha! Petty adventurer. You never will defeat me. Not once will you harm me. Hope you like it in the mines… you and your friends aren’t going to be seeing daylight anytime soon!”
Friends? You think, absently. At that moment, he turns to leave the room. You have one chance… one last choice to make.
BACK OUTSIDE
…”ask you for proof of your adventuring prowess,” the guard finishes. Herron and the dwarf stand outside of the city hall. “Well? If you’re not going to show me anything…” he says, gesturing the dwarf inside, “then I guess she can enter, and you’ll have to wait.”
The dwarf begins to walk inside, having proved that she is an adventurer, at least in the eyes of the guards. She’s put one foot over the threshold, when she stops suddenly, and begins lifting off the ground. It is obvious it’s not something she is doing, as she is struggling in the air, grasped by some other, unnatural force. As her feet reach above your head, you and the guards can see clearly inside the building, and what you see terrifies you. A demonic creature, eight feet tall stands with a hand raised, just outside of a silver door, which has a glowing purple portal active inside. The creature looks starved, so skinny you can clearly see it’s ribs. It’s head has dark slits for eyes, and has feline attributes, with ears comparable to that of a fennec foxes. A whiplike tail cracks through the air.
“Not more adventurers,” the creature hisses disdainfully. “I thought I was done with them today, after shoving that pesky bird through the portal. As he says this you can see an arrakokra climbing out of the portal behind him, looking shaken. You shake your head, signaling to stay hidden. “Fine.” The creature groans, “I’ll take care of you too.”
The guards eyes roll back into their heads, the female dwarf included. All barriers of age, race, family, had been broken. This creature was abducting at choice. They hit the ground hard, and burst into demonic flame, and are gone. Dolls stand in their place.
Then the dwarven adventurers eyes do the same, and she is replaced with a doll too. Then the world goes black, the sound of flame the last thing you hear.
Dm note to players
All players have been replaced with a doll, and transported to the creatures lair in the mines. All players except for comically sized beholders are in separate cells, in the same jail block. Klif still has one chance to act before being teleported.
The demon seems to deflate, looking to have believed all the pesky adventurers had been dealt with.
“Ah. Finally, some peace and quiet. He turns, pausing for just a moment. His eyes squint, looking in your direction. “Ah, it’s nothing,” he says. Then he closes the door on you, leaving you in a pile of dolls, looking into a dark room via a portal of unknown origin. You hear the scratch of pen on paper, and assume he has changed back into the tall man.
Your silent approach startles the guard holding the door open, and it slams shut in the face of a female dwarf standing there. The human guard apologizes profusely, and hauls the door open again, more slowly than before. He then turns to you and asks, “are you with her?” gesturing toward the dwarf. “Because if you are, I may as well just allow both of you entry, rather than ask you for proof of your adventuring prowess.”
"Aye lad, I be just that. May Helm bless and keep your sword arm strong!" Harron enters and follows Ruby into the hall.

I think you got captured by a demon already (and didn’t get a saving throw or anything)
Comically sized beholder, there was no save because he was too powerful.
HARRON
As you come to, and check your inventory, you feel that you have everything. Except one crucial thing is missing. All of your weapons are gone! You hear water dripping in a constant beat, hitting the floor in a puddle of water, presumably form the same drip. The area is illuminated dimly by one lantern, farther down what appears to be a long row of chambers. There are bars holding you in, stopping your escape. Feet patter quickly down the hallway, accompanied by high pitched giggles. Two trails of light flash by, then are gone. Across the hall from you lies the same dwarf, ruby, that you were following into the city hall before chaos erupted. She appears to still be unconscious, you having woken up before her.
RUBY
You awake to a steady drip of water, falling from the ceiling in a uneven rhythm. You open your eyes, curled on the ground, and see the traveler that followed you into the city hall awake, watching you across the hall. You can barely make out his features in the dim lantern light , but you can tell by his beard that he is the same one. You seem to have all of your things on you in the cell, but one thing is missing. You rapiers, which you showed such skill with, are gone, along with all other weapons on you.
“What?? Where, where am I? What happened?” Ruby looks around and tries to take in her surroundings. Is she in a cell? And is that …. WHERE ARE MY RAPIERS?? She stands up fast, and then sits back down after the major head spin. She shouts over to the one across the hall. “you there, how did we get here? What is going on? And, do you, do you still have your weapons?”
Harron calls over to Ruby, "Good question, we were in that hall, then that demon showed up, a portal open and now here we are, and with no weapons to boot."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Harron is going to call over to the other Prisoner. "What's your name? Here to investigate the disappearances as well? We'llget it out of here and take care of business, don't worry."

Ooc: I am terribly sorry for not posting in forever. I will try to be more consistent now.
Harron looks around the cell. It is sparsely lit from the lantern out side, not illuminating many corners. He notices a few loose stones in the walls, but not enogh to be of much use, he doesn’t think, and the bars seem to be strong iron, and firmly wedged into the floor and ceiling.
As he prays to helm, he hears a voice, faint, but present. “The lady, across the hall. She is one. There are more to be found. Free them, and you will escape. Where three meet will let you out.” Then the voice fades, and it is again quiet.

Without a second thought Klif jumps into a pile of dolls and attempts to cover himself with them to hide.

When Harron comes to, he does an inventory to make sure he has everything (does he?), then determine where he is and what is going on around him
As Ruby is lifted into the air and she sees the demon by the silver door, she starts reconsidering her career choices... then poof she's gone.
She starts looking around where she ends up...
