Kalisia stares at the key that can facilitate the entrance to the strong hold, but averts her gaze immediately when Bog Luck starts addressing her as 'Lady Wongbe'. She grits her teeth in anger to suppress the feeling of frustration but decides to comply with the chivalrous manner.
"Hmm, that sounds like a better arrangement, Sir Luck! Your hospitality is quite impressive."
Bog Luck escorts Finn and Kalisia to a room. "Some of the other caravan guards have taken the room next to this one," he explains. "I hope this one will suffice."
Erephema watches them walk to the room looks over to Pete inquisitively. The then and walks over to Valek. “Shall we head over to the caravan?” She glances at Pete again to give him time to explain himself before they take leave.
"I'm telling you, there's rats in the strong room," Pete responds to Erephema's inquisitive look. "I hear them every night. That Wump must have missed a few."
Erephema and Valek make it to the wagons without incident. A couple of other caravan guards are keeping watch, while one is asleep in the empty bed of one of the wagons.
As they settle in for the night, Finn, Kalisia and Fytos hear what sounds like a heated argument happening in the adjacent room. Words like "cult", "lizards", "treasure", "Tiamat" and "dracolich" are heard through the wall.
"Do you hear that?"- Kalisia asks Finn while sending an inquisitive look towards Fytos. She finds the conversation suspicious and decides to eavesdrop from the other side of the wall. Thus, she will press her ear against the surface of the wall that separates the adjacent room from the current one and attempts to pick up more information.
Question for the GM: the group is split into 2: Erephema and Valek & Finn, Kalisia and Fytos. How do we do this now given we can't communicate and anything we post will be seen by all?
Erephema and Valek get settled in the caravan wagons.
Meanwhile, Kalisia listens in on the conversation going on in the next room. "I'm telling you, they never should have tried to raise Tiamat. Helping the dragons achieve near immortality by becoming dracoliches is what we in the cult have always done, and we never should have stopped," one voice says.
"Yeah, you're right about that, Tobias," a second voice responds. "I'm just glad to be back in business doing what we do best."
"But what about the lizards?" a third voice asks. "They're gonna be trouble, I tell ya, what with that Snapjaw and his mate trying to stir up a rebellion and all."
"Ah, don't worry about the lizards," the first voice replies. The rest of what is said is muffled.
"Yeah, you're right, Tobias," the third voice says. "He'll take care of them. Good night."
"Good night," the second voice says, and all is quiet. After a while, snoring can be heard.
(@RastlinTheThird, perhaps, Kalisia or one of the other roommates can relay the message to the other recruits settled in caravan.)
Kalisia draws her eyebrows together when the strangers occupying the other room utter the words 'Tiamat', 'Dracolich', 'Cult' and 'Lizards'. She attempts to remember if she'd ever heard of the name 'Tiamat'.
Laying in the back of a wagon in a bedroll, Erephema waits until it is quiet and the guards are distracted or sleeping and whispers to Valek "shall we take a look around"?
When Kalisia recalls the vague information regarding the identity of Tiamat, she will hastily leave the bed-chamber and dash outside. But before leaving, she will briefly explain the importance of her findings to Finn and Fytos.
Seeing Kalisia dashing from her room, Valek responds to Erephema in a loud whisper, “Looks like Kalisia may beat us to it.” He gives a side head nod in Kalisia’s general direction before quickly exiting the the wagon, as quietly as possible. Once on the ground, he motions Kalisia over to them, all the while scanning the area for Bog and his team.
Kalisia spots the gesture of Valek and looks backwards to see if Finn's been following her. When everyone is gathered in a cluster, she will start declaring gradually:
"I knew that something is wrong with this place. But, I never imagined that we'd have to come across something like that. There's some sort of conspiracy going on and a group of people are involved. They're definitely not a bunch of philanthropist, I can assure you."
She will request Finn to elaborate the matter and confirm her claim. After that, she will propose that the party should kill the occupants of the adjacent room.
Valek gives Kalisia a look. “There’s no need to blindly murder anyone. We don’t have any facts or understand the context of the situation. For all we know, the people in that room could have been setting you up with an ill-advised joke.” Valek pauses for a moment. “That said, I agree with you in that at there is something up here.” He looks around once more to ensure they are still alone. “The question is, what is our next non-murdering step?”
