Hin scratches his head, trying to wrap his mind around this new information.
"A passage? I'm not seeing any passages." He turns around and continues to investigate, despite not having darkvision. "But that second message sounds pretty ominous... better keep our guards up."

”This puzzle mentions visibility and darkness, a light source may illuminate the passage? This darkness hasn’t at the very least.” Urtrogall asks, as he takes out a torch and lights it. He continues to search the buildings, looking for anything of note, and looks over to the lion-man, to see if he’s doing anything.
"That it does" you hear a growl come from Gryk after Hin finishes speaking. Urtrogall you look over towards Gryk, to see what he's up to, and you hear him murmur "mind giving us some light?" toward Chatters. Moments later you see Chatters raises their hand up like they're holding a torch as a green flame appear and consume their hand, illuminating the area slightly in a green hue. Gryk and Chatters both seem to be looking around this ruined courtyard, but haven't moved from where they originally were yet.
Vera will share the information about the magical aura with the party. "You see what you're allowed to see. I see what you're not supposed to see"- she whispers a cryptic message when her eyes glow with a violet hue. "We're summoned here through magical means, we're protected by magical means and our power..." She pauses mid-sentence to scratch her head vigorously. "Our power is negated through magical means."
She snaps out of her trance like state when her hair starts turning black, the messy bun is let loose to reveal long, wavy length. Her pale green undertone starts disappearing to the faintest tint leaving behind olive skin tone. "Uh, time's up."
Barburry has stopped singing at this point, seeing everyone else finding more success using other methods. He begins writing down the tidbits collected from the group to try and make sense of things, as the pieces aren't fitting in his mind yet. He writes down:
Find the key that cannot be moved, open the door that does not exist.
With the passage visible, you may traverse. Those who dared, must continue on. For danger lurks in the shadows.
You see what you're allowed to see. I see what you're not supposed to see. We're summoned here through magical means, we're protected by magical means and our power...Our power is negated through magical means.
Feeling a little out of his element, he takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He lifts a hand up to his head, and Scritches hops into it. Barburry lowers the fey ferret familiar (ooc: say that 3 times fast) to the ground and whispers, "Ok little friend, you go around any rocks or wooden areas to help me find something useful. I'm casting a spell but can't see through rock with it. Just give us a little shrill shriek if you find any words or unnatural clues. Ok, off you with little buddy." As Scritches heads off, Barburry closes his eyes and makes a series of whispered noises. When he is finished, he opens his eyes wide except they no longer have his brown iris' but the vertical slits of a cat's eye. The pupils wax and wane as he looks around, then when he blinks his eyes change to that of a goats with the horizontal bar of an iris. Each blink reveals a new variation of animal eye as Barburry uses his own [DETECT MAGIC] to aid in searching.
(ooc: I feel kind of left out, you guys have the most adorable familiars! I absolutely love Scritches and Chatters)
Hin groans, putting his head in his hands. "Normally I would enjoy a riddle like this, but this is really starting to get tiring, I can barely see anything other than green and," he throws his hands up in the air around him, "all of this black." Seeing the change in Vera's appearance, he walks over to her, almost tripping on some unseen rubble on the floor. "Are you ok? What's this about 'seeing what we're not supposed to see', can you see things we can't?"

Vera doesn't look like her former self. Miraculously, she seems younger than before when the glow of green flame illuminates her body. Her wrinkles are gone, and the crooked nose has somehow fixed itself. A young lady with black flowing hair, dark eyes and plump lips stands in the middle of the ruins, dressed in commoner's cloth with colorful stitchworks. The effect of Disguise Self is no longer active.
"I see magical auras, conjuration magical effect here"- she indicates the area that marks the center of the ruined structure. "Some of these piles are enchanted with abjuration magic, but three of the rubles are showing effect of incantation magic. This kind of arcane art, incantation is rarely performed."
When she's done with the announcement, she lifts the long burgundy tinted skirt slightly. A flying creature that looks like a raven emerges from the hiding place, and lands on the skeletal remnants of a person.
Barburry, since you've instructed Scritches to actively search around in the rubble give me an investigation check for your ferret. Since there isn't a ferret monster, we'll use a weasel.
Mythe, as you continue sifting around in the rubble, about four or five feet from where you uncovered the carving in the ruins, you find a glyph carved into another section of the ruins. Give me an arcana check to attempt to identify this glyph.
Barburry
As you cast detect magic you detect a faint aura of conjuration magic, in the center of the ruins. Additionally, several of the piles of ruble in the area glow with an abjuration aura, and three piles of ruble glow with an incantation aura. Two of these enchanted piles of ruble, you've now watched Mytheaian, Hin, and Urtrogall approach and uncover. The third remains untouched. Lastly, you detect an extremely strong magical presence from Urtrogall, though, you can't figure out the school of magic.
(OOC: Incantation magic, is an extremely rare and extremely powerful form of magic in Weskeilia. You've never heard of it nor seen it before.)
(OOC: Urtrogall also has a torch lit, so there are two sources of light in these ruins with you)

Barburry will point at another area saying "That spot looks interesting, come help me have a look."He isn't asking anyone in particular, but seems to lack general confidence. He will walk over to directly investigate the area, looking around to see if any join him.
The elf walks over to Barburry to help him look for anything else of interest.
"So, has Scritches found anything yet?" Hin kicks around pebbles on the ground. Having found nothing, he seems a little disheartened, but nevertheless eager to help. "Wait, Vera." As what she said finally registers in his mind, he turns to face her, still staying by Barburry. "You said three? We've found only two messages in the rubble. Where is the other one?" He pauses for another moment. "And... what is incantation magic? I've only read of it in old books at my parent's library."

Mythe, as you uncover the glyph and brush away the dirt to get a better look at it, you immediately recognize it. You've seen them before. Matter of fact, House Kaethius uses these exact ones in their keep. It's a glyph of warding. You're unaware if the glyph has been triggered yet, nor what effect will happen if it does get triggered.
Barburry and Hin, you two rummage around in the pile of rubble that Barburry had pointed out. You uncover another message carved into the ruins "Three and a key is all you need. Open the door and you may succeed." You both also notice what appears to be a recessed button below the carving. Scritches is continuing his search, but hasn't managed to find anything of your request yet, Barburry.
(OOC: for those following along Mythe rolled a 22 arcana check (which was done in private))
Scritches is woefully distracted by something. (ooc: I realize now I rolled perception, using the same die roll, Scritches scored much worse with a -4 modifier to INT. So it is more like and 11 Investigation.)
"The third one? It's just a punitive way to relay serious information to teammates"-Vera responds to the enquiry of Hin in her own voice. Her accent is quite thick and her voice is melodic, accompanied by a ringing noise of laughter. "Mother Lorinda would perform miracles to keep us safe while reducing the effectiveness of opposing magic. She would call such kind of magic 'in- can- tation".
She grabs the arms of the elf male and pulls him towards the glyph uncovered by Mythe. "Oh, what is that thing? I've never seen something like this before. I wonder if it's somehow connected to the riddles."
Barburry will come over following behind Hin and Vera jotting down the most recent clue. He sees the glyph and looks to Vera to see what she knows of such magi, and ready to take notes. He s very impressed with those her. So much so he turns inward with thought. "Such talent here... do I really belong in among such minds? Maybe I was just meant to be a talented farmer. Well, farmers don't quit, so neither will I". He waits to hear what Vera finds to not interrupt, but will freely share the recent clue uncovered with all at a good moment of pause.
"Well, Vera, if it helps, Barburry and I found another piece of the riddle." He walks back over to where he was standing before being pulled by the arm, and reads: " 'Three and a key is all you need. Open the door and you may succeed.' There's also a little button here and quite frankly, I'm scared to push it lest a spell is triggered or something else happens that would cause anyone here harm." He saunters back to Barburry and Vera, and says over his shoulder, "Gryk, have you and Chatters found anything else?"

Mythe turns to those who have gathered around her, glancing between them and the glyph.
"This is a glyph of warding, I see them often around my family's estate. Its a powerful inscription that harms those who enter, pass, or open a warded area or object. I cannot tell if it has been triggered yet, nor what effect it will have if it does.. so be careful, lest you find out the hard way."
With your arcana check, Vera, you're 100% sure Mythe is right. This is indeed a glyph of warding. Just like Mythe, you're unsure if it's been activated, or what it will do once it is activated. The two folks that had cast detect magic earlier, Vera and Barburry, this glyph is where one of the four piles of rubble were giving off an abjuration aura. Hin, as you look over and speak to Gryk and Chatters you notice Chatters seems to be preoccupied. They have since dropped the longsword that they were dragging behind them and seem to be attempting to grab the raven that is deftly moving out of the way every time the skeletal hand comes its way. "I've not seen anything of interest yet. I was hoping Chatters' ghastly flame would illuminate something we don't naturally see, but nothing of the sort seems to be here." Gryk says as he slowly begins walking toward the lot of you as you surround Mythe. "Perhaps we should push this button you found, Hin? What's the worst that could happen? We were lead here for a reason, by the academy."
Barburry looks at the 4 written statements he copied into his journal:
Find the key that cannot be moved, open the door that does not exist.
With the passage visible, you may traverse. Those who dared, must continue on. For danger lurks in the shadows.
You see what you're allowed to see. I see what you're not supposed to see. We're summoned here through magical means, we're protected by magical means and our power...Our power is negated through magical means.
Three and a key is all you need. Open the door and you may succeed. *Button located here
He makes a series of of screeches, requesting Scritches' return. "3 and a key is all you need? Perhaps it means three people? Or 3 of the clues? That button seems could be the 'key that cannot be moved'. The 3 could also mean the deities responsible for the school, right? So many questions. I'm of the opinion that the button will open a doorway for us, but in it another challenge. This, is an admission's test."
While he says the last part matter-of-factly, he shrugs his shoulders whilst saying it thus dismantling confidence in his opinion.
Hin seems more confident that the button will not do the party any harm, now that some of the others shared their confidence in it. "Now that you mention it, I think you're right, Barburry. I'll push the button, then." He walks over to where the button lays in it's recessed hole. "I think it would be a good idea to step away from the glyph, in case the button is what triggers it. I'll push it once everyone's out of the way."
