Cat nods to Idoza though emotionally charged "Do what you think is best." She still has the sense about her to ask the farmer while choking down her tears.
"Is that the only wagon you have? If not may we buy it?"
After the farmers answer she eagerly though solemnly watches Idoza cast her spell wanting to learn the ways of magic. She just met the guy but she feels the loss in her heart.
The farmer, who having absently-mindedly followed the party, if only to look closer at the fire, snapped to attention at the question. Although it still takes near half a minute for him to really understand what's been ask, there's a bit of grumbling out of the old man before affirming the group could "borrow" the cart for the day, what with harvest time being practically around the corner. In the meantime, he'd around and by the time they got back, might have been able to direct them to someone else willing to sell. But with that, he moves on to check on the barn animals and assess the damage.
It's only once the man leaves again that Idoza finally appears to come to some decision, and would pull Drux out of the cart to set down on the ground out of immediate sight of the windows and doors of the house. She then instructs the Piers to kneel by the corpse across from her and hold out Drux' charm. She then grabs her own and clasps her hands over Piers. "So, I haven't tried something like this in years, and that was with Grangran's help. She's a bit more..." Idoza hesitates for a second, and then shook her head. "Doesn't matter. Piers. What will is this. Together, we going to try and draw out the magic in these charms. Something we're going to have to 'feel out'. But given the latent magic within having ties with forces you're a bit familiar with, you should have an easier time at it. The second thing is this... I will need you to focus on Drux. His connection to you. What you know of him. All of it." She then looks back and forth between Cat and Piers. "If this work, you'll certainly both know. I will be a bit out of touch during this, so it will be up to you to ask any questions. Understood?" She waits a bit for the two to answer before taking a slow, deep breath, closing her eyes, and begin chanting in a soft but melodic voice.
Over the next couple of minutes during the ritual, the wind slowly but surely began to gather around the group, but never so intensely as to be worrying or loud. Rather there was a warmth and comfort there that should not have been for the season. Soon enough, a faint halo soon appeared behind Idoza's head just as translucent golden wings appeared to sprout from her back. Although as the ritual continued on, her feathers began to slowly but surely corrode. Sweating at that point, but determined to keep going, Idoza continued to chant until leaves gathered up on the wind appeared to take the form above the group as a floating and seemingly half-asleep Drux...

Drux, at some point in your journey to... whatever awaited your spirit beyond the mortal coil, or perhaps even after reaching your destination, you found yourself speaking to a most peculiar woman. You cannot recall her exact features, her tone of voice, or even her name if ever given. All you remember of her was that she was green skinned, several brilliant and large avian wings, stood several heads taller than you, and spoke at length regarding some kind of offer.
It too is beyond what you can recall, or how you even answered it. Even so, you find yourself back again on the material plane, and yet not quite all there. You can see the group(the party) gathered below you. All stationed around some murky shape on the ground. You can see some of the surrounding farmland as well, though the further out things were, the far more blurry and almost painful it became to try and focus on it.
Back to the trio, you remember them. Just as you remembered how you parted all that time ago? Or was it but moments? Eh... It didn't matter. You are aware however that you don't have long to speak with them, but can do so at your leisure. Or... you can ignore them and return to your afterlife without so much as a word. The choice was yours.

“Guys? What’s going on? I have to admit I’m caught a bit off guard. I feel like I should know what’s happening…but, well, why are you all hanging about. How long has it been since we hung out again? Man, I musta had a heck of a drink because I can’t quite remember.”
Cat stunned holding back the tears points to your body "You rushed in instead of following me. uh We just wanted to know if, we should talk to the druids and bring you back." she sobs "I already miss you..."
Piers gazes up. “Drux… you did great. If you want us to bring you back I’ll do everything I must to do it. And…”he wipes away a tear “if not, then… it was wonderful talking to you, friend. I’ve loved every moment with you and the others.”
It’s after their words that Drux starts to fully comprehend what the shape between them likely is. Seeing his new friends emotions over his death, he remembers, he felt that emotion once….when he lost his father all those years ago. He had forgotten how that felt, until now. His heart had grown cold over the years as his strength increased.
A flash of the mercenaries attacking when he was a child, a banner covering him…flashes of training in the moonlight…more flashes of memories, until the last. Those eyes, of the scarecrow.
Drux felt something then, a pull at his emotions. A desire to come back and finish the job. A desire to change the way he did some things in life. And a desire to attempt friendship, something he left behind many years ago.
”I understand what happened now. I see what I’ve been missing. I know what must be done. If you would please, I’d like that opportunity, if the cost isn’t to great, if there is even time.”
Cat simply wonders how one could not miss their body? Drux's reaction brings a slight smile through the tears. "We'll do what we can." she wonders if the druids would take the paintings in exchange.
Following those final few words from Piers, the leaves that made up "Drux" appeared to quickly scatter away as the natural order once more reasserted itself. Idoza falls back in her seat, breathless and sweating as if she'd been running for miles. Little more than the bones and a few blackened feathers remained of the golden wings that had appeared during the ritual. And her halo appeared to be dim and tarnished, before both celestial displays of power faded once more from view.
Noteably as well, the two charms left in Piers' hand are little more than ash following the ritual, and is soon taken by the wind as well. As the group (minus a sleeping Gruk) are still recovering, the old farmhand can be seen exiting the barn and heading to a nearby shed, grumbling all the while about having to start work early. It's perhaps by then the trio finally notice the background din of distressed animals, which had to only a small degree settled with the fall of the scarecrows, had come to an end.
You all still have a few hours left before the gates of waterdeep are officially opened for the day. But if there's anything you wish to do before making your return, you can safely return to your tent, physically if not mentally exhausted, but self assured at least that there was unlikely to be any more trouble this night.

A soft sigh escapes Piers' mouth. "We'll see him soon. I know it."
He puts a hand on Idoza's shoulder. "That was incredible. Thank you. Once the gates open you can rest a bit more in the cart. I'll have some stuff to eat ready by the time you wake up."
Then to Cat. "Let's... rest now. I'm sure tomorrow will be just as busy a day as this."
He lets the winds flow past his face a bit before returning to his tent.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Piers Idoza you get some sleep, I'll finish my watch" she takes out the spell book and tries to figure it out as she glances occasionally looking around. 4 Arcana.
Idoza could just manage a smile for Piers, but would ultimately need some help getting back to the tent. In the meantime, Cat returns to her post, though half-distracted studying the spell book the group acquired back in the sewers. Most of its contents is alien to her beyond the brief notes in common left behind in the margins. But between a few context clues and the notes presented, you come to understand the cantrips and a couple of first circle spells(burning hands, shield) to have been inscribed in the book. Even so, she wouldn't she could quite cast them yet, and there were other formulas indecipherable in the text. So for more than that, you will need far more time and someone more learned in the arcane arts. As whatever magic Piers drew upon appeared to be to estranged from the spells.
Then again, all magic to some extent had its ties to the 'Weave'. So perhaps there was an angle to exploit there? Mayhaps even the Gondites in the city knew of such things, as their divine calling appear to at times cross the boundaries between deific power and arcane understanding.
Regardless, apart from catching glimpses of the old farmer tidying things up here and there about the farm, the remainder of night otherwise proves to be a quiet one. And no matter whether Cat still wakes Idoza for fourth watch or stay up longer, the group are roused once more by the sound of chirping birds and the sun rising over the horizon. If there's anything the party would like to do prior to departure, now would be the time to do so. That morning, group would find the elderly farmer appearing to going through the last round of checks required to secure a horse to wagon.

Cat gathers up her things and the proof of their actions, scarecrows claws and scythes. If the death of their friend wasn't proof enough
She smiles at the farmer holding a silver, showing she's willing to pay. "Got any more apples or maybe pie? Eggs, bacon? I'm kinda hungry. What was your name? I don't even think we ever asked."
She looks towards the funeral pyre wondering if the scarecrows had any treasure or even how they were animated.
Piers places a hand between them. "Come, now. The poor man's had to deal with a bunch of strangers hunting scarecrows. Given Drux's death, he'll likely be visited by the city guard, at least for witness testimony."
He turns the hand, which now holds several goodberries. "These should quench our thirst and hunger for the time being. I'll cook us up something truly delicious when we get back, or we can visit a tavern."
He gives a nod of thanks to the farmer. "Thank you, sir, for your help."
“Go ahead.” Piers sighs to Idoza. He flops down on a tree stump. “Any way I can help?”
