When we get to the tavern, I relay my knowledge to my teammates as we are looking over the noticeboard.
"Everything I know about this place suggests that we should be welcome here as long as we don't do anything egregious against the locals. But don't let your guards down entirely, there have been rumors of cult activities in these parts which I for one would rather avoid getting mixed up in if at all possible."
I let myself relax a little bit after observing the crowd and thinking back on my research, though I would still rather avoid being the face of the group on the off-chance that someone might start asking some uncomfortable questions or somehow catches a glimpse of what I really look like. When we reach the tavern, I'm going to check if there's a wall of quests or anything like that to help point us in the right direction to make a bit of coin.
There is a small list of reported things around town. One thing catches your eye: Please Help Look for Missing Family.
If there’s a map there too I’m gonna take a gander before ordering.
There is a small map detailing the surrounding area (mostly just forest, though you see a small pond in it).

I pull the poster off the wall carefully, looking for any additional details and check the backside to make sure nothing else is written there. I ask my companions if they would like to take up this task.
“Sound’s like a plan!” I go to the bar, order 3 of what people are drinking, and ask the ask the keeper what they know about the family on the poster.
He slides over the three drinks
"Thas' six silver. Oh, Borin and Michelle's family. Ya, sad. We don know wha' happened. Ya saw th' post on th' board?"

I flip him a gold and pass the two other mugs to Solomon and Camus. “We came here to turn danger into coin. Returning this family to your ranks seems like the only quest available. Who would we contact and where would a successful search start?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I politely pretend to sip the drink, waiting for the opportune moment to pass the mug to Solomon since he still has flesh on his body and could actually hold the liquid.
As I do so, I glance around the tavern for anyone or anything interesting or out of place.

“Barkeep! I’ll take my change, and will hopefully return with more (living) customers for you!” Von drains what remained in their glasses and stands to leave.
I stand as well and briefly acknowledge the bartender with a friendly nod. If he's paying attention, perhaps he might catch a brief glimpse of the eerie green glow in the eye holes of my mask.
Upon receiving no change Von does an about-face and militaristically makes her way to the sheriff’s station. Presenting the poster, she declares; “We are here to lend our services in the recovery of this family in exchange for coin or equivalent payment! (Also the tavern-keep down the street shorted me 4 silver.)”
Camus is surprised at his companion's outburst. He's used to the orc being a bit abrasive, but this time he thinks the orc may have had a bit too much to drink.
"Uh, Von... did you actually give the barkeeper a chance to give you your change? I can run back to the tavern and ask him for the change again if you want."
Von probably has had too much to drink, realizing her manners are being corrected by what she’s pretty sure is a litch. “So sorry, compatriot. No need. Maybe that pub has a tab system or something.” Appreciatively, she puts a hand on Camus’s shoulder. “You should probably take the lead on this one. I’m gonna sober up for a second.” She leaves the station in search of an outhouse.

Wow, 7...I guess having empty holes full of magic where his eyes used to be isn't great for Camus' power of observation.
