Everyone knows each other, and you all have just gotten off a ship coming to Toreds Island. You are in a small coastal town named Geomead, where there is a small tavern, a supplies shop, a smithery, and not much else. You see a few small groups of people coming off the ship, dispersing around the town.

Camus steps off the boat and glances around at our fellow travelers who are disembarking, making note of anyone who seems unusual or potentially dangerous. In one gloved hand he grasps his grimoire, which is further secured to his belt by a long iron chain. In the other hand is his staff, which he lean on slightly as he steps onto the solid ground again for the first time in several days. He is dressed in a simple black cloak with the hood pulled up. A relatively simple ceremonial mask covers his face. He stands, an intimidating figure that most people would probably try to avoid, but he knows all too well that his true appearance would cause far more alarm. The body hidden underneath the robes and mask is little more than bone, held together with wispy ectoplasm and some mummified tendons.
I turn to Solomon and whisper "My friend, it would be wise to watch your steps carefully. I doubt that this place thinks kindly about people like us."
A kelly green orc with a spiky black mokawk emerges from below deck, looking very unusual and potentially dangerous. The clink of a chain mail dress and the weapon of a cleric are softly muted by black leather. Strapped to her side is the taxidermized head of a three-toothed orc, it’s eye sockets stretched and filled with glass in heretical imitation of a gabled reliquary.
“I don’t know; if this place is as fishy as it smells, I think we should fit right in,” Von growls merrily, stomping onto the gravelly shore. “I’m not sure what you fellas drink, but I’ll buy you a pint of it at that tavern. I gotta replace the stuff I lost over the port-side rail anyways.”
Camus rolls the glowing green orbs that fill his empty eye sockets at Von's comments. He knows better than to try to telling the orc to exercise caution by now.
"Thank you for the vote of confidence. But in any case, I think our first order of business is to find somewhere to stay for the night. Perhaps we can get some directions at the tavern."
Are you guys going to walk to the Tavern (this town is tiny enough that you can see basically the entire town except for outlying farms)?

Yes. Camus figures that it's the best place to learn whatever we need to about the town, and being a tavern it's probable that the patrons are used to strange visitors.
Scanning the crowds, Von tries to get a read on the town’s inhabitants. Is there an apparent wealth gap? Are folks burly or slim? Are they casting equal judgment on our party?

You can roll in the forum (final icon on the right, looks like a D6; you can also add modifiers there).
I also am scanning the crowd. I don't care much about the general makeup of the populace, but I'm looking out for anyone who seems to take too much interest in our party or otherwise seems like they could be trouble.
While I'm at it, I would also like to roll a History check on this town. I'm trying to remember if I saw anything in my various readings regarding this location that might influence the locals' current outlook and give us some idea of how best to approach them, and/or give us some idea of what kinds of perils we might face while here.

You can all see that there is a wide variety of people, but there are many Animalfolk. Many people are burlier, but not very burly. You can infer that this likely comes from manual labour, but not excessive weight lifting or special physical training. You mostly see you as just another group, like the several other groups about your size in adventuring gear, headed off to the wilds for some reason. There appears to be a small wealth gap, but the town mostly provides for itself (think subsistence farming but with slightly larger fields to accommodate for the constant yet relatively small demand from travellers) and caters some services to people coming in.

You remember that this town was marked on a map you looked at a while ago, which had many small ports shown. You can guess that the locals will be friendly to you, as while they can remain functioning on their own, many smaller ports like this depend on trade to keep the economy stably above simply self-sufficient. You do remember, only very vaguely, some whispering about a cult that worships 'The Returned One', which was generally thought to be a myth, though you were sceptical of it being entirely mythological.

I let myself relax a little bit after observing the crowd and thinking back on my research, though I would still rather avoid being the face of the group on the off-chance that someone might start asking some uncomfortable questions or somehow catches a glimpse of what I really look like. When we reach the tavern, I'm going to check if there's a wall of quests or anything like that to help point us in the right direction to make a bit of coin.

A hulking human looking person with gray skin lumbers off the boat. “Agreed. We should try to not stand out; any more than we do naturally. “

If there’s a map there too I’m gonna take a gander before ordering.
