Tochi opens the western door, confirming his suspicions. Inside is the castle's banquet hall, still covered with the corpses of a half dozen goblins. The brass brazier, once full of glowing coals, now sits inactive, the coal blackened and cold.
"I am getting the feeling that this Castle has been abandoned"Says Tochi and, without waiting, opens the southern door as well. If it is empty, he will wander more, checking all previously unexplored parts of the building.

"If that Castle is abandoned then all the better for us to find hidden treasures!" Nimble will do a quick search looking under tables and in any cobbards: perception20
Nimble finds only old, wretched meat and gnarled bones littering the floors beneath tables, and rusty cooking equipment throughout the room.
Tochi moves to the large iron door to the south. He finds it to be more reinforced than the other doors of the castle, and it is currently locked.
Roland DEX: 25
With a silent flourish, Roland inserts a small bar into the door's keyhole, releasing the tumblers with a click almost as soon as his tools are going back into his pouch.
The door opens into the south side of the castle at a small postern gate. A set of steps leads down to an overgrown path.
Tochi circles back through the curtain and the hobgoblin quarters to the final unexplored tower of the castle. The wooden door is closed, held shut by a heavy wooden bar.
"Anybody here?"Tochi asks and knocks on the door. If he receives no response, he will continue: "Friends, can you help me with this?"Tochi asks and attempts to break down the door.
OOC: In case it wasn't clear, the wooden bar is on your side of the door.
After waiting a few moments in the silence after knocking, Tochi leads with his shoulder into the door. The bar rattles, and chips of stone fall from the decaying wall of the tower, but the door holds firm on its hinges.
Together, Nimble and Tochi remove the heavy bar from the door, setting it aside. The door itself is unlocked, and opens into the remaining tower of the castle.
The arrow slits of the tower have been shuttered, leaving Roland and Tochi unable to see through the complete darkness. They hear a loud roar from within.
For Nimble and Nemean:
The upper floors of this tower have collapsed to create a hollow silo at least thirty feet high, and the upper reaches of the room are lost in shadows. Dust, rubble, and broken glass cover the floor, and old worktables and bookshelves lie strewn to the south. In the middle of the room is a hulking beast that looks like a mangy bear with an owl's head. It rears up and roars when it sees you.
Nemean slowly grabs Nimble by the arm and gestures towards the door behind them. He nods, and then turns and sprints out of the room. Once he is through the doorway, he will turn his bow back to the entrance and nervously wait to see if the creature pursues them. “Some kind of beast in there! Looks to be half bear and half bird... I don’t know if it’s worth it to attack the creature as long as it doesn’t follow us. It seemed like a simple beast not a minion of the Black Spider.”

Nimble is confused at first but quickly follows Nemean when grabbed. Knowing that Nemean is not in the best shape he allows him to get back and, after moving back himself, he will take a defensive stand hoping to protect Nemean as much as possible. "Keep back, you have gone through enough already. Let's keep you alive!"
"I have little quarrel with wild animals, less still large ones that I can't see" Roland says, backing away from the darkened room. "Perhaps if we must face the beast, we could do it in the light of day? Or just let it be." Roland offers, clearly having not enjoyed being mauled earlier.

"There are no beasts more terrible, than those cornered, as the celestials of old used to say, so I believe we should leave it be, or, maybe, even try to release it, but let us not pick a quarrel with it" Says Tochi thoughtfully.
The head of the owlbear crests the darkness of the room, growling and snapping toward Roland as he backs away with the rest of the party. Its fur standing on its end as it snarls, it cautiously walks forward out of the room, toward the northern exit of the castle.
The room beyond is still shrouded in darkness with the arrow slits shuttered, and can only be seen by Nimble and Nemean.
OOC: Each character has received 116 XP for releasing the owlbear.
"Let us examine this room. At best, the beast was put here to guard something, while, at worst, it was not and has been here for a while, in which case, we will have to wade through a lot of... What are the droppings of an Owlbear called? Owlbeardung?" Says Tochi with a smirk and enters the room that was once occupied by the Owlbear.
Nimble watches as the Owlbear makes it's way toward the north exit and again, not trusting the situation, will prepare again for battle. If the Owlbear does not come toward them again the Nimble will relax and, following the advice from Tochi, he will search the room the Owlbear came from: perception1
Tochi steps into complete darkness, unable to see his hands in front of his face. Nemean and Nimble can see that nothing of the room's original contents remains. The first floor of the tower holds only the droppings of the owlbear, and all that remains of the second floor is a jagged ledge.
The owlbear has not returned after leaving the room.
"Arambar, the Great Dawn TItan, contemplated, that one must always adjust to their surroundings, be they bright or dark" Says Tochi and waits for his eyes to adjust, then looks around.
Perception: 12
If he sees nothing of note, he will turn to others and begin a conversation about leaving Cragmaw Keep.
