And we didn't even wring a round out of Killian yet...
Breenie flashes a sympathetic grin toward Maisor. "At least he's making some attempt to be quiet."
For the moment.
While making quick mental note of what the others are up to, Breenie deftly unhooks her gray cloak and flips it around so that the darker inner lining faces outward. In the process, she reveals the shortbow and shortsword she wears beneath. With an approving glance toward Teric, Breenie cuts off any objections Maisor might be about to make.
"I'm just going to take a peek. We can't let Killian go all alone, can we?"
Now looking more shadowy herself, Breenie steps off the road and into the shadows and any underbrush present, trailing Killian as she moves stealthily forward.
Breenie stealths and moves toward the sound of voices, but she never moves further ahead than Killian.
Stealth: 9
If she reaches a point where she can see around the curve and is within 60 feet, she does have Darkvision and would be able to see clearly in the dim light.
"By Branchala!" Maisor curses as Breenie rushes off. He looks at the others and then curses again. "Otik's going to kill me," he spits. "I'm already late, and now I'm running in the wrong direction!" He takes off after his two friends, producing a rapier from within his coat as he runs.
OOC: Maisor has never before been one to jump into a fight, so this is a surprise to the rest of you. Maisor is not currently being stealthy, and will attempt to keep an eye on the other two who are, providing "backup" and maybe even a diversion, depending on what they find.
Walking and a hurried pace to get to the Inn of the Last Home Demek runs as fast as his legs can take him his friend Teclis by his side easily outpacing him. A blue light flashes from up ahead and he hears guttural sounds he stops mid-stride and smiles at his friend.
"You ready for a fight?"
Demek doesn't wait for Teclis to answer, he charges forward toward the blue light shining in front of them.
OOC: Thought this would be a better way of explaining our absence of not talking.
(ooc) Tell me where your at based on the description below. Initially everyone was at the stair case to the Inn of the Last Home. The goblins are surrounding two humans. The flash of blue light is coming from the a staff. Let me know who is present (/ooc)
Scene: The road leading into Solace is dark and level. The road width is 15 feet across on each side is woods with the mountains in the distance. There are approximately 7 goblins dressed armor with unknown sigil on it. There are two individuals dressed in leather with headbands they appear to be from the Plains. There is a male and female she is holding the staff. The goblins are talking in their language (DM Me if you speak it). The group is not aware of those sneaking up on them.
Urgent message to the Speaker of the Stars...Do not delay!
My most gracious King,
As you know I was promptly ordered to the very edge of our beautiful homeland Silvanesti. Contrary to my Commanders stories I did not just leave my post. The goblin horde I was warning about intruded a third time into the edges of our home. My brothers and I provided harassment until they decided to leave the area. Hopefully for good this time. I decided to track this horde across Ansalon. I have traveled a great distance to gain more knowledge of this adversary. Many moons have and they have past the great swamp to the west of our beloved homeland. In the evening I was able to get close enough to the foul smelling group. Enough to hear them discuss a "blue crystal staff" of great worth. I am wondering why one staff would lead an entire platoon of goblins this far from their wretched home. Twice I've heard them boast about "armies to the north". I've no way to verify this claim however, it does not sit well with me. We traveled south to the Thorbardin mountains and turned north toward our cousin's homeland of Qualinesti. I surmised that they were going to raid several of our cousins villages. Yet they stayed their course to the east and maintained their way to the north. Finally resting about half a days walk outside Solace. I will stay until I find out more about this blue staff and identify if there is validity to these rumors of armies to the north. Yours in service.

Maisor stops approximately 35 feet away from the group, standing in the middle of the street. "Ho, ho!"he calls. He holds his rapier in his right hand, the tip pointed down, but ready to defend against any potential projectiles. His left hand, he cups to the side of his mouth. "What might be the trouble, friends?"
Demek rushes around the corner his hand is on his hilt ready for any action he stops in the middle of the road looking at the two humans and goblins surrounding him, his eyes catch a familiar face as he squints he sees Maisor on the other side of the group.
OOC: About 30ft away from the goblins and 2 humans
(ooc) Lorival stays off to the left side of the road, hoping to get some cover from the bushes and small trees there. She will stay roughly level with Maisor. She will have her component pouch ready for use.
Hugging the brush on the side of the road into Solace Lorival does her best to keep up with Maisor.
Under her breath she murmurs to herself, "Maisor you dolt, have a care..."
Just a small heads up on Teclis...he wasn't with you at the Inn in Solace. If you read my previous post he was traveling from Silvanesti to Solace following a platoon/band of goblins. If you read the bottom of my post you would see that I remain in the shadows ... just out of view of the goblins and yourselves. He is currently observing the struggle, prepared to intervene if/when necessary.
Everyone gets one surprise round. Then we roll for Initiative! Starting with my stealth folks take your turn action those who are not stealthrd take your action afterward. There are seven goblins simply number them as you attack!
On her initiative Lorival yells out from the bushes, "How does a Minotaur hide in an apple tree?" Casting Hideous Laughter she finishes with, "By painting his hooves red of course!"
(ooc) She'll cast it on the closest goblin [30ft range], she will move 5 to 10 feet if she has too. Call him Goblin #1
OOC: D3B4G, I believe that would be your surprise round action. "Everyone gets one surprise round." Widowleaf, correct me if I'm wrong. And I'm guessing Maisor doesn't get a surprise round since he just yelled at the group. :) Or, perhaps that was his surprise round (I did specify a sort of defensive position).
OOC: I'm assuming Teric will be last to reach the fight given he has to come down the stairs. So I'll post his initial reaction now while I have time. I'll post the rest of his action tomorrow after the rest of the group posts.
Teric's mind recoiled at the sight of the hideous humanoids. Since when were there goblins anywhere near solace!
The strangers were badly outnumbered. Without immediate help they wouldn't last long. He was no hero, but he wasn't about to stand here and watch them get slaughtered. Feet pounding down the stairs, his hands quickly verified the presence of the large pouch on each hip without his conscious mind even being aware. He screamed over his shoulder to anyone, in the Inn or otherwise, who might be in ear shot.
"Goblins! Attacking someone on the road!"
Glad to see his friends were already moving, he leaped the last few stairs and hit the dirt running, drawing his short sword from his back as he ran for all he was worth.

(ooc): Oh yeah forgot about the surprise round. Lets say Lorival hesitated until her companions acted. She is no soldier and has spent all these years in quiet study or simple country practice. So I will lose the Surprise round and act on my initiative.

Then she runs after them. The potatoes will have to wait, someone needs help.
