...Chester's steel defender shares Chester's initiative but goes immediately after Chester.
/OOC For the sake of simplicity we can dispense with the weird rules of mounted combat for independent vs controlled mounts, ready action use etc. Just make it so you and your SD, whilst you are mounted, act as one unit. You move at it’s speed (40’), and you can use your BA to make it attack or do any other standard action (ie, Disengage, Dash). It keeps it’s reaction as it’s basically under you. If you dont use your BA it only dodges, unless you fall unconscious, then you can say how it would “normally act”.. Fight or Flight, and I’ll make you do rolls to stay on it’s back.. or fall off..
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elegri trailing the group, making sure nothing sneaks up from behind he keeps his head on a swivel and his hand on his quiver when the animated plant creature makes their presence known! "tch, plants, of course it's plants."
Muriel draws her quarterstaff, and using her darkvision, looks around to see if there are anymore threats besides the one in front of them
You see nothing else at this time apart from the 4 plant creatures, however the forest is thick and dark, who knows what other creatures like these ones could be in there.
Dagny watches in horror as the vegetation appears to come to life. She quickly digs in her component pouch and rubs a piece of cured leather vigorously speaking arcane words upon herself hopefully before they spot her back here.
The animated plants get the jump on you, reacting faster at the start of combat and rushing forward to Murial and Anima who are closest. Normal round, no Surprise (Steel Defender ”Vigilant” ability noted)
Two of the plant like creatures Dash forward, converging on Murial, two more also Dash towards Anima, stopping short on their stubby root like legs. Their movement towards you takes up their time, and now you have the chance to react.
/OOC Movements and Actions
M1: Middle path - Dash (20’+20’) from 30’ away to Murial, ending inf-ront of her.
M2: Right path - Dash (20’+20’) from 40’ away to Murial, ending on her left.

Rest of party 30’ away in a row from Anima, 40’ from M3/M4, 50’ from M1/M2.
NEXT UP: You can all take your turn, since you are all in the 3rd round phase.
You strike out with your staff, once, twice and then three times. The first blow smashes through the first of the creatures on you, blowing its body apart. The second blow misses its mark, but you recover, following up with a third blow that hits the second creature on you, felling it.
There are still two more alive to your side heading towards Anima.
The remaining 4 characters can post their turns in any order, no need to do in actual initiative, but if I see an update that just happens to be in the right order, I will action it.
Dagny focuses on M4 moving towards Anima. She extends her left hand out, pointing at the enemy with her index finger. Her right hand swirling above her head as she chants “Vohan”. A yellow bolt of flame leaps from her outstretched hand.
Chester's lips curl into a smile seeing the twig blights, "I've always hated wood. It never seems to bend to my will to form it into something." He raises his little tinker's hammer, the head of it bursting into flame, and motions like he is hitting something casting fire bolt. The mote of fire flies through the air to strike at one of the remaining twig blights (M3). He slides off his mastiff steel defender, giving it a pat on the side as he says to it, "K-9, go fetch." He points to another twig blight (M4). His steel defender runs up to the designated twig blight and tries to take a mouthful of sticks and branches.
Action: Attack M3 with fire bolt, Attack: 24Damage: 4 fire Movement: Dismounts his steel defender. Bonus Action: Commands his steel defender to attack M4 with its force-empowered rend, Attack: 14Damage: 10 force
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
After Murial bursts into action quickly dealing with the two on her, the rest of you select your targets and go to town.
Chester from his mounted position at the rear of the group summons a bolt of fire that whirls towards it’s target, hitting it squarely in the middle. You see the fire appears to be particularly effective, rapidly burning the creature to cinders. He then carefully dismounts and orders his steel Mastiff to charge into battle. The metal dog bounds forward, rending the fourth Twig Blight with claws.
All four creatures are now unmoving.
For a second you think it’s over, then hear more crashing sounds around you in the forest, the trees start to thrash and move, and you hear a loud crash to your right, as a huge 10 ft. tall tree creature erupts from the forest immediately to the side of the forest. In a huge booming voice it shouts “Murderers”, and starts to shamble towards Murial. You are sure you can see and hear a lot more thrashing in the trees to both sides, but see no actual targets apart from the large tree at this time.
The three of you seeing the new threat redirect your attacks at it.
Anima takes one of the pebbles he had enchanted almost a minute ago, and throws it with a deft flick of his wrist towards the large tree creature. The pebble flies with magical accuracy towards it, hitting it (to hit 15 vs AC13) for 3 damage (½ damage due to resistance to bludgeoning). He then summons three more pebbles, and moves back 30 ft. to the others at the rear.
Dagney also shoots a bolt of fire at the new target, unfortunately missing it (to hit 7 vs AC 13). The tree creature looks nervously as the fire shoots over its shoulder.
Elegri follows up from range with an arrow that thunks into it’s thick bark (to hit 17 vs AC 13) for 2 damage (½ damage due to resistance to Piercing)
