Gabriel tensed up when he heard the possibility of enemies in the water. They are in an extremely vulnerable position.
"Hold until we identify the threat!" He found himself shouting.
He tried to discern what manner of being is in the waters.
Initiative roll: 12
“What do you think it is?”
It could be anything from something that was sinking the ships to a being that was actually helping the sailors out. Though Daekas agreed on not actually doing anything with their weapons until figuring out what business the ‘enemy’ had with them.
Ghadath took a breath before looking down towards the water. "Could possibly be what was eating those fishermen. If that's the case then..." He trailed off slightly and shifted his gaze up from the water and over towards the others for a few seconds. Then he turned his attention back towards the water and prepared himself for whatever might come out of it.
Gabriel considered getting into the water and swimming to the stack but found 100ft daunting. Especially with an unknown creatures in the water.
He instead tried to get its attention, shouting both in common then in orcish. He also thought banging the side of the boat will create enough vibrations in the water so that whatever was in the water would investigate or run away... or attack.
With 18 perception you see not one, but two scaly humanoid-fishy shapes swimming around underwater. They seem to be holding something in their equivalent of hands
Make a nature check to see if you can recognize them.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If I haven’t offended you, don’t worry. I’m sure I’ll get to you eventually.
OOC-oh right, I missed Daekas initiative roll. yeah, you see em. They’re underwater about 30 feet at the moment. One is 20 feet off the starboard bow and the other is 15 feet directly from the stern.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After Karson masts the spell, one of the shadow figures starts swimming upwards, surfacing about 20 ft from the boat and whirling something around its head recognizable as a grapnel. It throws it toward Karson. Attack: 20
If it is a hit, Karson takes 5 piercing damage, and must make a DC 18 save or be pulled 10 ft into the water
Passive Perception: 14
Initiative: 3

I’ll have Daekas ready her action to do…whatever and skip to Karson
As the magical sleep-magic leaves the top of your staff, making it’s way underwater and…leaving the creatures seemingly unaffected.
