When the first mummy appeared, Spark was ready and hit it hard. Her magic stone, additionally infused by an ancient rite, connected to the mummy downing it in a spasm. Then, the last mummy falls under a barrage of her magic stones, still twitching on the floor for a few seconds after it collapsed. (End of combat. 700XP for each character.)
With the mummies dealt with, Rizo stops concentrating on the fog cloud and you look at the large shipwreck again. Rizo is clearly sapped of his energy but you know that he will not be able to recover until the mummy's rot curse is lifted. Your best bet for that will be Dolsela's clergy but that would mean to return and forsake the treasures that await here. Rizo insists to continue on, so you investigate the large shipwreck as you had planned before the mummies.
As you approach the large shipwreck, in the corner of your eye, you notice that some large shadow momentarily blocks the sunlight that otherwise barely bends around the rock's top. When you look up, you see how a school of fish carefully returns onto the top of the reef, presumingly, after it has been hiding on the shadowy side of the wall.
As you investigate the wreck you find a number of sarcophagus in its hold. Four of them have been opened, ostensibly by the mummies, but a few more are closed. You open each one carefully, ready to make fast work of any waking mummy but you find none. One of the sarcophagus, however, holds 3 Potion of Healing (Superior). Rizo notes that he can't currently use them and suggests that each of the others take one.
What will you do after searching the large shipwreck? Check out the small boat, or approach the steep wall of that large mountain? Or something else?
Spark takes a potion. "Isivunguvungu knows how to remove curses, but it is at present beyond my ability to learn. At any rate, if you are determined to continue, perhaps we should investigate the small boat. Not as much treasure, but likely not as many monsters, either."
Rizo replies, “yeah. Let’s have a look. Maybe the undeads’ souls departed long ago?”
You approach the small boat. It sits still on the sand and doesn’t show any sign of damage. You get closer and find an unconscious humanoid inside along with a pack with a few rations, water, a bunch of red candles and a hempen rope. Upon closer inspection you realise that it is the tiefling that the carpenter in Dolsela had recently accepted as apprentice, his hand is clenched around an amulet. What he is doing here, why he is in a boat, or how he got here, you can’t fathom. You try to wake him by addressing him first, then you shake him slightly, you even try a little harder but he doesn’t wake or even react. He is clearly alive, though. Perhaps, he is under the effect of a spell? Certainly, the clergy in Dolsela will be able to help if he doesn’t wake up by himself. But do you really want to burden yourself by dragging him along? In fact, thinking of the clergy reminds you that the amulet the tiefling holds tightly looks just as a relic that you have been shown there when you did a tour. A relic that allows the wearer to speak with the dead twice per day.
(Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I was asking for a more general perception check to decide if you notice a happening outside of your current scene. Still, I’m very happy that you look more closely into what is in front of you, too. However, for looking into the details we will go with one check of investigation, arcana or religion. Anyone who wants to, or anyone can also decide to help someone else for advantage - and in that case, please simply roll it yourself for the other player and we go with the higher of the two.)
What you notice in the distance:
Rizo noticed Bappy’s interest in their findings and it appears that his curiosity might have infected the entire party. Rizo, decided to do his best to help the first one attempting to investigate here (effectively providing advantage for the first player’s roll).
While you rest your eyes on the rocky wall - maybe you rest your eyes or stare pensively - you see three goblinoids moving carefully along the rock’s wall towards a large opening. Apparently, they haven’t spotted you as your dark shapes must blend in with the wooden structure of the wreck, and they seem very much focused on approaching stealthy towards an opening, thereby largely ignoring the open field towards you that still spans some 300 feet.
(Please let me know what are your intentions with the tiefling. Do you leave him there? Or plan to bring him along to return him to town? What about the relic? You’d need to pry it free by force. I’m not sure if you wanted to do that, please let me know. Then there’s the matter of the goblins, who haven’t notice your presence yet.)
Spark, curiosity raised when Bappy brought into question what the Tiefling was up to, takes a deeper look. Obviously, it is rather strange that a carpenter's apprentice would head out alone into the forest. Not to mention that he chose a rowboat as means of travel but you suspect there might be an entirely different reason why you experience this sea landscape in the way you do. Still, no one of their right mind would venture out alone, not into the deep sea with a rowboat and not into the forest, either. Something doesn't add up here. Then, he clutches onto the relic as if it were something important and he does not wake from his slumber. You suspect that his sleep must be magically induced and the question is who did this to him. However, your friends also point out that he is in an odd posture. He wasn't surprised when he fall asleep, and he wasn't fighting, or even standing and fall. No, he had been laying down comfortably as if he knew he would need to lay for a long time or he fell asleep naturally. However, the latter is unlikely as he would have certainly woken up by now, this must be magical sleep and he must have caused it himself, you conclude. But why? Together, you brainstorm and hypothesise that it could be a ritual. On closer inspection you find burned down ritual candles in certain positions around him and you remember that there are certain rituals that are employed to enter other realms of existence. Did he enter the plane of dreams? Or some other plane? Some monk once mentioned to you that they may enter the Astral plane, by leaving their bodies behind in an unresponsive state. Could that be it?
Rizo mentions to you that he wouldn't have a problem bringing the tiefling along, he'd barely notice him on his back.
Having spotted the goblins before, some of you kept an eye on them during your investigation. They did move closer to the crevice, notably slowing down when they got closer. Your full view of the crevice is somewhat blocked by a large boulder that you didn't notice before the goblins moved behind it. It all appeared that they did not notice you, though. Something large stirs in the shadow of the crevice. Now, you see why and it all starts to make sense. A chuul resides in that opening and it all has the look of them goblins being on the hunt. You remember that goblins sometimes use chuuls for labor and combat, so they might be here to subdue the beast. Aware that a chuul is far beyond a typical goblin’s combat prowess, these must be elite if they hope to survive the encounter and even then they should have other means than pure violence if they wish to capture the creature but that you cannot discern from your vantage point. You are 300 feet away from them and the shadow cast by the rock wall together with the large boulder would help you to approach unseen, if you wish, or you could just wait and see if these two problems solve themselves.
(There is an opportunity here. If you decide to approach now, you can try to approach stealthily. If you like to do that, please, decide and post how far you wish to approach first (in feet, i.e. 5ft, 15ft, 30 ft or 60ft) and then roll for Stealth in a spoiler to avoid that we see the rolls before everyone posted their preferred distance, too. The average roll for the party will need to beat a DC that is related to how close you wish to get (we'll use a distance that is reflected democratically between the party members or take the average, too). Rizo will use guidance to add 1d4 to the total. DCs: 60ft - 6 (very easy); 30ft - 10 (easy); 15ft - 14 (hard); 5ft - 18 (very hard). Note that Minty can hide as bonus action and therefore may help Spark as action to compensate the disadvantage imposed by her armor.)
"If you don't mind carrying him I vote we make like a tree and leaf, our heavy hitter here got hit in a bad way.Im not sure we could handle another fight."
"I'm not sure if you talk about me, but I can still handle plenty of fight,"Rizo responds to Bappy self-confident. "These mummies just landed a lucky blow, unlucky for me that is." He shoulders the Tiefling and you note that the Tiefling doesn't make the slightest signs of waking despite the rough handling. "Maybe we should take care of these goblins before they tame the chuul. Might be if we surprise them in the process, we can take them out quickly. Once they have the chuul under their control, they will be much more dangerous and will cause problems for Dolsela or anyone wandering into the forest. Heck, they might discover our tracks and surprise us from behind."
"I don't need to get so close. Lily can shoot 60 ft without problems and I can do even longer distances. But I'm ok getting to 30ft if that helps you to hit better. Also maybe I stay a bit behind the lines, I can still heal a lot but these mummies, er, they did a good job and I feel tired. Can only really help as long as I stay on my feet, you see. I guess if we catch them in surprise, we can get the better of them real quick."
The mummy was nearly incinerated by the firestorm and faces Rizo as it looks like it is on its last legs.

Spark uses her sling to launch a barrage of Magic Stones at the approaching Mummy #3.
Reaction: Attack: 24 Damage: 11
Attack: 15 Damage: 13
Attack: 10 Damage: 8
If either of the last two attacks hit, she uses her Rite Focus to reduce the mummy's speed by 10 feet until her next turn.
She touches her pouch again and converts three more stones into Magic Stones.

"I think we should, I'm little but quite valuable! " quips Bappy, the health potion sticking out the top of his pack.
Minty checks to see whether he can hide in the shipwreck to cover his friends should anything pop out of the smaller boat.
"Strange, I didn't see any souls leave those creatures."

“Yes, it looks like the temple’s relic, right? Did he steal it, or did he recover it and wanted to return it?”
