Hello, I may be interested. Can you advise what is permitted for character creation? Anything official? What about eberron dragonmarks? Strixhaven backgrounds - even if just reflavoured to 'generic magic academy' rather than specifically strixhaven? CR stuff? What about Tasha options? Legacy content like Volo's or must use updated versions in MotM? etc.

Backstory
Phelan Peregrine was born in wild woods where the Material Plane overlapped with the Feywild. His parents, Patrick and Monica, were delighted with their newborn baby boy but were taken aback by the unusual qualities: golden eyes and purple hair. Nevertheless he was loved. He was raised in a small farming village.
Life was peaceful until Phelan's 13th birthday when the young purple-haired boy began to exhibit magical abilities. The villagers were wary, a few seeing him as a walking omen, but thanks to his parents he remained accepted. This did not last. Mere months later when another villager was resentful from a bad harvest and blamed Phelan. Although the boy was not to blame, the man, Finn Harkness, in a drunken rage throw a rock at young Phelan. The boy raised his arms in defense and somehow created a shimmering shield of force to protect himself, and then a surge of wild magic happened. In fact several occurred resulting in immeasurable chaos. A strange mechanical creature appeared, weird alien-looking tentacled beings appeared, illusory butterflies appeared, Phelan was transported to another realm for a few seconds, suddenly everything he touched burst into flame and there was a surge of lightning from him that killed Finn, Phelan's friend Tommy, and Mary - a village baker as she ran screaming from one of the tentacled things.
The small village was soon engulfed in flames but nobody else died. A few injuries, and while there had been considerable fire damage no homes were outright lost. One of those injured, quite badly, even, by the fires was Phelan's father, Patrick. Although Patrick forgave Phelan, the village did not. Phelan left. His father was unable to travel, and Monica, his mother, needed to stay to take care of Patrick as the villagers refused - the omen that brought this upon them was their child, after all. So Phelan left, alone and scared.
He travelled, trying to learn what he could of his power, but never fully in control. He encountered a Sage - an elf living in the forest, named Mahat. She taught him about his powers, and about magic in general. He was only with her a short time but learned a lot. She was called away to help her family far away and could not bring him. So he continued to travel on his own.
He found the beautiful town of Akihi. It was trouble free, and he found himself able to settle. He called himself Spark, took up painting and odd jobs for money. He spent years there until things changed. Crime became rampant. He was packing things, ready to leave - knowing if he stayed there was a chance he'd have to use too much magic and that could put people at risk again. But he had visitors. Strangers. They were rebels. They knew who he was - what he had once done. How did they know? It didn't matter. He had power and they needed help...
Note, I gave him the Strixhaven background to give a few more spells and reflavouring this as being taught by an Elf sage instead. I hope this is OK. I also filled the sheet out with his ideals, flaws, etc and things like alignment (neutral good) and age (19).
I sorted out the inventory to categorise things more easily. I also have a tab for Effects for spell effects like "Shield" spell adding AC, and any other temporary effects.
If there's anything you want me to change please let me know.

-Name: Addison Bennet -Race: Human -Class: Cleric -Backstory (Include how you found out about the rebels):
An attractive woman with a few years on her, holds out her hand and gives you a firm shake. "Addison Bennet, and you are?" You can tell from her practical dress that she isn't afraid of hard work and the symbol on her satchel speaks of some religious holdings. Her cloak is travel worn and a bit patched together.
Easy going with an air of confidence, Ms. Bennet relates to you that she was once widowed, her late husband (bless his soul) was eaten by something out of nightmares. Through the faith of Moradin she was able to fend off the miscreant dead and smash in its head with her husband's hammer. She was accused and found guilty of double homicide, spending a good 10 years in the slammer. But she never lost faith. She kept up her prayers and took up the hammer in the prison shop. Got out early on account of some kind hearted soul making her an offer she couldn't refuse.
The rebels broke her out, so she owes them a mighty large favor.

Boomi is an old Dwarf of 350 years. He left his clan in search of adventure some 50 years ago, hopeing to have one more grand epic before his time to return to Moradin. During his travels he eventurly found his way to Akihi. He really enjoyed his time in the town. So much so he gave up his desires to meet his end in glory and put his hammer to rest. He opened a small smithy and redoned his pristly vestments as a Forge Father for the locals who follow Moradin.
Boomi enjoyed his life for a time till the new king Obolm Slora took the thorne. At first he kept to his own talking care of a boy orphaned. That was till the day the boy was murdered in an attempted robery. That day Boomi took off his vestments and picked up his War Hammer found the rebels and joined up.

-Name: Claypole 'Clank' Ankridge -Race: High Elf -Class: Artificer -Backstory (Include how you found out about the rebels): ‘Clank’ had always been eccentric, eager to learn how things worked both from a theoretical point of view but more importantly from a practical one. That is why he joined the ranks of Akihi’s Engineers. His parents were thrilled at the opportunity, and also that he would not be experimenting in their home any more.
He had apprenticed from a young age, learning the basics of tinkering, carpentry, masonry, smithing and even the art of glassblowing as he looked to work his way up the career ladder. Whenever something needed making or fixing, the townsfolk went to the Engineers. By day ‘Clank’ would turn his hand to any number of tasks, and by night he used the Engineers workshops to experiment with his own projects.
His current major focus for his own work is the creation of an automaton to assist him in his day job. So far he has not managed to get the design working correctly, and that is with a simple miniature model. His ultimate goal of a larger version seems a little way off still, but he does love a good challenge.
Recently, he has become concerned by the number of townsfolk requiring the assistance of the Engineers for repairs due to acts of vandalism. He takes pride in every piece of carpentry he creates, every pane of glass he fits and every house he helps to build, and it is not acceptable for his workmanship to be abused.
A friend of his who unbeknownst to him is a member of the rebels recently reached out to him directly, not through the Engineers, and asked him to help create a secret room under a prominent town house. His curiosity peeked, he had figured out it was to be used as a rebel safe house. He immediately offered his services beyond the construction to help look into the issue further. -Ability Scores (Roll): 17 13 14 12 10 11 -Character Sheet (Can be done later): https://ddb.ac/characters/95790439/PSa3Si -Timezone: GMT
-Optional Personality: ‘Clank’ is quite the eccentric and properly hands on, liking to get his hands on things and get a feel for them. He can get a little frustrated by those around him who can’t keep up with his speed of thought, which is compounded by the fact he often gets distracted by things. He can annoy others with his desire to take things apart just so he can put them back together again, often better than they were. Attack Style: He is not really a fighter as yet, so will need to work on that, but it will likely involve some crazy devices repurposed from his day job. The other probable solution to this is the acquisition of a firearm!
