Chester looks at Osborne and says ‘Well I may be able to get a lesser luck stone, but I would need a 100 gold deposit to order one in. In terms of non-magical objects I have these dice, unfortunately due to a manufacturing defect the red dice will always roll low and the blue dice will always roll high. Obviously just an oddity for use at children's parties. It’s not strictly a luck item, but I do have a potion ofGuidance that can give you a little boost when you need it most.’

He then notices Cat and says ‘Ms Puddletwist, I am pleased to welcome you to my humble establishment. Are you just here for purchases or has the Guild finally decided to answer my requests. For a fellow Guild member I guess I could provide upto 3 Value Healing potions at the discounted price of 22 gold each. Note that they are only half as effective as a normal healing potion’
The value healing potion will heal 1d4+1 hit points.

Chester responds to Osborne ‘Why for this unique and wonderful potion. I ask for no more than 15 gold. An absolute bargain I’m sure that you agree. After all, can you really put a price on a boost when you really need it?’

“Hmm…” Osborne pulls out his dice set. “How about a game? If you win, I’ll pay 20 gold for it, and if I win, I only pay 5 gold? What do you say?”
(Would I need to roll persuasion to see if he excepts?)
You can roll a persuasion check, but given that Osborne has offered to pay 5 gold more if he loses or gets a 10 gold discount if he wins you will need to be very persuasive.

Sinak sits there and watches the exchange and negotiation with a smile on his face. He decides to hold his guidance and watches how the dice turn out. He makes notes in his mind of his findings, makes a mental location of this shop and determines to come back to investigate further at another time. As he’s watching and observing, he looks which way the Wyvern head is looking, what it would be focusing on. He turns his back to the gaming halfling and gnome and ritually casts detect magic, looking around the room for any odds or ends that he hasn’t uncovered yet. He keeps his eyes on the automaton, afraid to try anything more … risky.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Having been snubbed from learning anything from the automaton by Chester, Eilla will watch Osborne and the dragon-obsessed gnome play their game while surreptitiously blocking Sinak from view of the shopkeeper, lest he see the ritual and decide to interfere. She will be thinking how to proceed now that she knows the automaton saw something while cleaning outside a night before.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With Eilla’s help, Sinak turns his back and tries to hide the fact that he’s casting detect magic, hoping to use the gambling as a distraction as well.

Chester claps his hands and says to Osborne ‘What a wonderful diversion. Here is your potion ofGuidance for 10 gold as agreed’.
Just then an alarm sounds and Sinak sees that some of the Wards he noticed earlier are flashing. Eilla notices that Sinak’s hair has turned pink.
Chester walks over to Sinak, clearly visible with bright pink hair in the flashing lights behind Eilla. Service stands protectively behind Chester, looking less friendly than before.
Chester studies the ritual and says ‘Hmmm, looks like a detect magic spell and a sloppy one at that. Well I have nothing to hide, you will find all of my goods are top quality. Although maybe you would be interested in a copy of my paper “The Effects of Different Coloured Sand on Ritual Diagram” only 50 Gold.’
Chester turns back to Service and says ‘It’s OK Service, stand-down.’ Service goes back to cleaning, but keeps a close eye on Sinak.

Chester gives Eilla an appraising look and says ‘Valuable things friends and therefore I imagine information on them are equally valuable. I would say that your little golden dragon would need 14 other golden friends for me to release Service from his extensive duties to spend time telling you about your missing halfling.’

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Osborne will use his Tides of Chaos to have advantage on this roll. The two roles are in the game log.

Ballen slips back out to the street with nary a word or look back at the odd magic shop, perfectly content to continue their search elsewhere.
