Zaxx finishes his inspection and examination of the altar ad chapel that surrounds it.
The deities that were once revered here are Oghma (god of knowledge), Mystra (goddess of magic), Lathander (god of dawn), and Tymora (goddess of luck). This is an sure sign that the builders of the castle were human. Zaxx is almost certain that this was keep ruled by a wizard-noble of old Phalorm, an ancient realm that once controlled much of the North. The Gods worshiped here were those favored by some of the most powerful magic users of that old kingdom.
Zaxx's superiors would be interested in this structure he is sure.
As he walks around an old ornately carved brazier catches his eye, having a good look at it and dig through its contents of charred wood and ash he finds a small pouch. Inside the pouch is a gold statuette of a Sun Elf wrapped in crimson cloth. The cool meal tingles to the touch.
Meanwhile Titus moves into the entrance way and strides over to the Eastern door, three steps from the portal his foot trips a thin copper wire expertly hidden in the dust and debris. There is a 'spinging' noise and something goes 'clunk' overhead a split second before the ceiling above caves in.
Large stones and wooden beams come crashing down...

Titus opens the door the the east in the castle entry way and finds Zaxx on the other side looking concerned, The young wizard thinks he can detect the faintest tinge of red on the elven rangers cheeks.
Kryinor and Kargan call out their cautions and remonstrations.
Some more light spills into the entry way exposing some doors to the south.
I'll take a suitable weapon (axe, hammer, or sword) for Gundren, and a shield plus armour if there is anything to fit a dwarf, then go check the next door down on the western side perc 6
“Ah Zaxx! Just the man! Come! Let us open all the doors and let the light in. The place needs airing it’s a bit dusty it seems!”
loudly in the direction of kurgan : “humbug my vinegar blooded friend! I want to find the dungeon! Surely humans always have dungeons in their castles?”
Titus walks to the southern doors being a bit more careful, absently patting his clothes as passes the rock fall and open them.
Kargan reaches out and takes a serviceable looking axe and shield for Gundren. All of the armour is hob sized or stinks of goblin and probably would not fit anyway. While searching the room Kryinor notices a very nice looking quarter staff with a finely engraved pattern of feathers twirling about the haft.
Leaving the room Kryinor and Kargan move out and south to the next door in the west. It opens in to a small room that has a commanding view of the front porch and a barrel of crudely made arrows next to a chair. Thinking to them selves it was good fortune they entered via the concealed entrance at the back of the old castle, the goblins had a prickly surprise for the unwary here.
Titus and Zaxx move to the nearest door to the south and open it. The western portion of this large hall ends in a wall of rubble, but the remainder is still intact. This must once have been the castle's banquet hall, with a soaring ceiling twenty-five feet high. Two large wooden tables with plain benches stand in the middle of the room, and a brass brazier full of glowing coals is tucked into one corner. A large hearth, half buried in fallen stone takes up most of the western wall. Dirty dishes, half-full stew pots, moldy heels of bread, and gnawed bones cover the tables.
Mr Skittles growing more confident by the minute now climbs down Zaxx's shoulder, back, and legs, and scampers across the floor to one of the large trestle tables. Climbing on top he finds a suitable piece of food and begins to have an enthusiastic nibble.
"Well, this looks like the last of it, my friend,"Zaxx shrugs as he follows Titus. He scoops up Mr Skittles (and a rat-snack) on the way through.
"What say we let the druid free the owlbear (I suggest we hunt it down and kill it later - can't have those things wandering around all willy-nilly), and we retrieve the gnome and your dwarf and head back to town?"

titus attempts to spring and somersault out the way
Leaping back with elven grace Titus puts a safe distance between himself and the falling debirs!
Titus looks sheepishly around whilst clouds of dust swirl around, occasionally patting his clothing adding to the dust.
"right best get that door open then!"
"Tricky goblins, good thing your light on your feet Titus!" Kryinor smiles broadly at the elf.
Zaxx's eyes light up as he gazes down at the statuette. He pockets it for now in the hopes of studying it in detail later.
Roused by the thunderous crash as Titus trips the trap he'll rush to the elf to ensure he's ok.
"Titus ya bampot, quit yer foolin' aboot!"
Titus opens the door the the east in the castle entry way and finds Zaxx on the other side looking concerned, The young wizard thinks he can detect the faintest tinge of red on the elven rangers cheeks.

Some more light spills into the entry way exposing some doors to the south.
"Ahh!! Err ... I mean, hello! It is good to see you didn't bring down the whole castle around our ears."
Zaxx winks at Titus awkwardly.
"What say we try that door just south of you there?"

Kryinor will follow Kargans lead, eyes and ears sharp.

"Kargan, will we come back and collect the rest of these weapons before we leave? I think we should take them back to Phandalin or destroy them."
Kargan reaches out and takes a serviceable looking axe and shield for Gundren. All of the armour is hob sized or stinks of goblin and probably would not fit anyway. "Aye Kryinor, we'll leave naught for the grobbi scum when we leave!"
I go check the south west door. Perc 16
Kargan moves to the southern most western door and listens carefully. He is sure the room is abandoned like the rest.
"Righto lets kick in the last doors shall we my large hatted friend?"
Titus will force the last doors.
Booted feet of Elf and Dwarf slam home against wooden door. Kargan's efforts expose another archers watch room.
Titus' boot reveals another barracks. This one in much poorer state as it housed goblins who are much less organised and concerned with hygiene.
I open the door
Breccha moves in to cover the dwarf as he opens the door. (ooc- was there a map we found?)
"Well, this looks like the last of it, my friend," Zaxx shrugs as he follows Titus. He scoops up Mr Skittles (and a rat-snack) on the way through.
