"An excellent idea as usual, Master Akkron! And now that your incredible arcane powers" she approaches, placing one arm on the lich's shoulders and the other arm on those of the blind holy woman "have been joined by the sacred ones of Saintess, I am truly reassured. Between the two of you, I am sure that you will be able to find excellent undead 'eyewitnesses' who can help us spread the truth about how (un)wise it is to side with the Nefarious Duo".
((I think the DM is going to be introducing my character before the story continues. Hope will likely be there on a mission from his patron, or something like that.))
(@ikarbino - that message may have been to me. That is, the DM added me to the OOC thread, but I don't see you there yet. I'm not sure whether he was also planning to add you or not.)
((I messaged the DM about gear and they responded, also saying they would introduce me to the group...))
((Oh? Awesome! 👍 In particular, that makes spell selection for my Ranger (Fey Wanderer) since there's another healer in the party other than Saintess.))
As you gather, the churchman and the Saintess take in the surroundings and what had all transpired. Another member of the church arrives and is being accompanied by a Satyr.
"As directed, I have found Vrok and brought him to you." The churchman nods, then for Vrok and Saintess, introduces other members of the party. "I have sent for Vrok, also known among the borderlands here, skilled in the ways of tracking and wood, plus that of the healing arts."
He points to Brother Maynard. "This is Brother Maynard of our order, he is our historian concerning this threat to our lands. He provides background and historical knowledge on our foes, the Zemochs of ages past, and their two most troublesome Gods, Slaanesh and Azash."
He then points to Sparhawk, a Pandion Knight/Paladin. This is Sir Sparhawk of the Pandion Knights, the militant order of the church. He is our representative for the holy order, as well as the ruling parties of Eoasia. I will send word to the main church of your progress and what you found. May the light strengthen your resolve, your heart and spirit, and strengthen your sword arm." Nodding to the group, the churchman and his attendant depart. Sparhawk and Brother Maynard look at the group, then spots Robert, carefully walk out from the building and into the sunlight. He looks at himself in amazement, looking at his hands, touching his face.
"I guess it's better than being fully dead," he states, then quickly looks to Lord Akron, "Apology, didn't mean it to sound that way."
((We're all kind of waiting on Aaggie right now; I suppose he might be out for the 4th, though))
((Edit: cross-posted))
The lich chuckles.
"I doubt that I count as 'fully dead,' so I have no reason to take offense to that statement," he tells Robert. "After all, those who are 'fully dead' do not walk or speak."
He turns his head to look at the satyr. A ranger... he should be useful to their mission.
"Welcome, Vrox... I imagine that I am not the kind of company that you normally keep, but I wish to prevent this world being plunged into whatever insanity the two mad gods have planned."
"...And you can be sure that he will succeed, Vrox!" a tall, imposing, athletic figure of a smiling woman steps forward, whose blue eyes light up with interest as she greets the newcomer while she confidently passes an arm over the undead's shoulders "If Master Akkron has decided to prevent the Nefarious Duo to realize their plans, those two wretched deities just don't stand a chance".
"In fact, I, Khessa Cabbagefield, humble apprentice of Master Akkron, am here mainly to collect bets..." the woman laughs heartily, while a light breeze stirs her hair of thick blond hair that falls freely on the glittering shoulder straps of a solid plate armor "If anyone wants to bet on the Nefarious Duo, I give them 10/1... Bet 1 gp and, if those two wretched deities manage to realize their dream of destroying the multiverse, I will owe you 10 gp! Assuming I'm still alive, to pay you, obviously".
"Pleasure to meet you!" the woman quickly farstrides on her long legs, despite the different weapons that she carries on her, in various sheaths or secured to straps. Once she reaches Vrox, she stretches out a hand to shake.
A self-moving construct, humanoid in appearance, but clearly made of inorganic material remained at Khessa's side and now, invited by her, he holds out his hand in turn: "This is Alfred, my butler. And this" she says, as a bat that was flying near her lands on her shoulder "is my brother, Anator".
Sparhawk addresses the group. "It seems once more fate has placed us in an area of need, and we have stopped that blasted cult from expanding. From what I have been informed, hot spots are popping up all over. Do we continue on to speak with the Trolls?"
"We must strengthen our forces. The trolls should be shown that greater strength lies with us than with the dark gods.."Tyekanik says, his voice rumbling through the room.
"If we go now, we have a strong proof of our greater strength..." Khessa points out "We have collected one victory after the other, against the Nefarious Duo - the last one of wich brought to the conquest of their secret base with the destruction of the two temples inside it. We confronted Slaanesh herself and we defeated her best clerics... one of wich is coming with us as a proof. And we have Adad report about what happened to the followers of the Nefarious Duo in the past".
"I think we do not need even more than this" the blonde arcane warrior concludes. "Let's go now, before the Trolls take a decision against their (and our) interest".
Sparhawk nods, the lord marshal states, "If there is anything you need, my storehouses and artisans are at your disposal."
"Do you have a map of the region?" Sparhawk asks, and the lord marshal nods.
"I know this may sound odd," Robert states, "May I accompany you? I want to get those responsible for making me into," he pauses as he opens his arms and shrugs, "This. Perhaps my new abilities may come in handy, and seeing you appear to be in good terms with that rather strange yet very powerful young girl, if I begin to lose control to the thirst, she could help me."
"Of course you can come, Robert!" Khessa impulsively embraces the traitor's son "I don't know anyone more heroic than one who fights against those who made him become what he doesn't want...thus affirming his freedom to become what he wants!"
Releasing her embrace, but looking at him proudly with her blue eyes, the blonde arcane warrior states: "It will be an honor to have you by our side!"
"Will a weapon come in handy? Would you like one? I might have a fine one for you..." the tall adventuress rises an eyebrow interrogatively "Or, in case of combat, will what you called 'new abilities' be enough for you?"
Robert blushes at the embrace. "Thank you, but no. I would have to return home and gather my things. We do have ancient family weapons that have been hanging on the wall, it's time for them to see the light of day. I need to leave instructions with the staff, plus see that the families of those girls are compensated. Where shall I meet you, at the keep?"

[[ OOC: Welcome back DM! ]]
(@DM, I believe we are ready to move along)
D&D since 1984
(Yep, I'm ready to move along as well)
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Provide feedback!
