ooc: I will use my bow and an arrow. Do I now cast something to make it stronger, like Wisdom? Or do I just roll the 1d8 dice for the bow?

Here's your attack pane from your character sheet:
The Light Crossbow has the following information:
0 To-Hit
Damage: 1d8
So when you roll to see if you hit the target you choose, you roll one twenty sided die (1d20) and add your To-Hit for the given weapon, in this case, zero. Then you roll damage, in this case one eight sided die (1d8).
You also need to tell me what target you want to shoot, and from where you want to shoot from. I'll do it for you this time so you can see what I'm looking for:
In order to shoot at Goblin 1, I move to square J14 (see roll20).
I attack Goblin 1 with my Light Crossbow: Attack: 16 Damage: 3
Edit: You have advantage, so you roll to attack twice and pick the best result. 7
16 is the better result. You rolled damage earlier and got a better result than my roll, so I'll be generous and use your damage roll of 4.
Simultaneously, Rindelk and Katerielle open fire against one of the goblins. Rindelk's Fire bolt causes minor damage to the goblin, and Katerielle's crossbow bolt lodges itself firmly in a leg. It is badly hurt but remains standing.
OOC: Waiting on Kitryn to confirm if she wants to use inspiration or not (10 misses). Also waiting on Erenaeth and Leek to make attacks.
A frustrated Kitryn launches herself out of the stream towards the uninjured goblin. She stabs her short sword through the goblin's kidneys to the hilt, lifts the goblin off the ground and stabs her dagger through the top of its skull - a killing blow if only it hadn't already been dead.
OOC: Erenaeth and Leek get to perform one action... probably won't need to roll initiative.
The flummoxed goblin takes a rock to the eye, splitting it open in an oozing mess down its face. It slumps to the ground, bleeding to death from the bolt wound. The area goes quiet at first, but the silence is broken by barking and growling coming from the cave entrance.
OOC: Combat is over for the time being. What do you want to do now? (ignore the XP I awarded, it gets awarded all at once as a milestone at the end of this cave storyline).
the barking is alert dogs? fighting dogs? is it getting closer?
perception: 9
survival:13
moving back to the mouth of the cave, if there is no imminent threat ill move up two, and let the map POV open.
stealth: 9
Perception: 16
OOC: One "action" per post, so your second perception roll doesn't count.
Based on your childhood you can tell that these barks and growls are canine, but not dogs. The sound is not getting nearer, or getting further away. Since you're listening, you can also hear the sound of a distant waterfall inside the cave.
You move up, trying to stealth but not doing a great job of it. Just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven stone steps lead up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf’s chain is anchored to a single iron rod driven into the base of a stalagmite.
As you peek your head around the corner, the wolves look directly at you in unison.
ooc I would like to cast Beast Bond if appropriate. Perhaps to 'talk' to the animal?
OOC: Clever, but In the previous ambush, you cast Detect Magic and Faerie Fire, both level 1 spells. You do not have any spell slots (mana) left to cast level 1 spells. Until you take a long rest, you can only cast cantrips.
Also, the description of Beast Bond says the following:
You establish a telepathic link with one beast you touch that is friendly to you or charmed by you. The spell fails if the beast’s Intelligence is 4 or higher.
You should assume the wolves are not friendly.
Edit: An alternative way to "calm" the wolves down could be to roll a Animal Handling check.
i have 15 str, and i can't toss a goblin a few feet? or you want me to roll to see i'f i get within the reach of the chain length while carrying in dinner?

wow... stupid dice..
OOC: You can shotput throw a goblin corpse towards the wolves, but you'll still be in their field of view, hence the animal handling check (I'm following instructions in the module.) And yeah, you're not very lucky with the dice. You should start praying and making sacrifices to RNGesus.
Kitryn leaves the cave and picks up the corpse of one of the goblin sentries. As she rounds the corner to throw the corpse to the wolves, the wolves growl bark and snarl, launching themselves forward.
9
The metal spike holds as the wolves get whipped around by the neck. Kitryn slinks away again, and the wolves start growling in a different manner, quieting down eventually. Ocasionally a loud bark or growl can be heard between them.
OOC: What can I do with my open spell slot? Learn a spell in there I guess? :)
is the grid still 5'? even with penalty i should have movement to reach melee as pictured.
do we still have advantage?
i will attack with shortsword: 18, dmg 9
if hit follow-on sneak attack bonus dmg:4
if not bonus action of second weapon strike: 21, dmg 1
I'll cast firebolt 14, damage is 1
OOC: A 10
and a 14is a miss. Remember to use your inspiration if you have it.Edit: they don't have their shields equipped, so I'm going to rule their AC decreases by 2. So a 14 hits.

ooc.yeah i'll use it, it's a plus d8?
tense with frustration at the litany of stumbling, Kityrn is intent on stabbing something.. forcefully..

ooc.wohoo, one goblin kabob!

Carrying out Leek's instructions, provided to me via email:
Leek attacks remaining goblin with his sling: Attack: 18 Damage: 6

I return to the two goblin corpses. And speak to Leek. "Mind if I use these?" I will throw them into the 'pen'.
OOC: Clever. But you'll still have to step into the room to do this. Roll an animal handling skill check if you go ahead and do this.
