Long time DM but novice PbPer here. Looking to run a fun short adventure with anyone happy to play while i work out some of the ins and outs of PbP. All are welcome and I reckon i'll probably just start with the first 4-5 players that reply. Rolling either here or in the game log in the campaign game log. Character creation details below, followed by short adventure description copied basically straight from the module:
Feel free to make any character you want (Race, Class, Background), use the standard array for ability scores or roll if you feel particularly lucky. No re-rolls, you'd just have to use the standard array if you're unhappy with your rolls.
A MOST POTENT BREW
"The party is sent to deal with a problem that should be instantly familiar to all rookie adventurers - exterminating giant rats that have taken up residence in a beer cellar. However, if they are to achieve their goal our heroes are going to have to get their first taste of a real dungeon as they explore the ruins of an ancient Wizard’s Tower."
Okay, I'll definitely take those numbers!!! Now to see what shenanigans I can come up with those.
Just for fun (and if DDB lets me), I want to make a fey / sprite / fairy 'Firebug'... basically a fire elemental fey... who has been 'banished' to the mortal realms (( to keep from burning more of the feywild 'by accident' )). Banished 'until such time as Xa can properly control these 'gifts' -- while also creating chaos in the mortal realms.
So... character name: Xa aka Firebug aka Bug
Sorcerer
Ya see... momma was out one night as a glowbug, dancing with her friends when an alluring dragonfly caught her eye and heart. Turns out that dragonfly WAS a dragon and well...
Many moons later, Xa was born and seemed like 'just another normal fey child'... until that one time he lost his temper and 'accidentally' burned down that lilypad old Mister Toad used to call home. Soon, small, red scales appeared on Xa's cheeks and back around his wings. And more 'accidental' fires kept springing up. The Queen decided this firey menace was suited for the mortal realms and henceforth banished Xa until such time as he could properly control his emerging 'ancestoral' powers.
So... Mommy was a fairy of the Summer Court. Daddy was a dragon fly. [Red Dragon] Xa got the best of both - Summer temperament and red dragon bloodline.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Room for another player?
Ability scores: 151014141412
Edit: Those are some of the most mediocre rolls I've ever seen.
Edit again: Didn't know, but it looks like every time I edit it rerolls the dice. If I'm allowed to play I'll do standard array so it doesn't look like I'm doing this on purpose.
'Bug' tries to dust himself off as he flits over to the table. "No matter how I try, I keep getting ash smoot on my clothes." He tries one last time to 'clean up' to no avail. "That is the last time I try to help a goldsmith and their finicky metal forges."
With a hurumph heard three tables over, 'Bug' flops down on the table and starts making circles in the spilled ale... which quickly turns to steaming circles of evaporative clouds. "oops... sorry..."
Looking around at the faces at the table, Bug rolled onto his back and stared at the ceiling beams, "Sooooo... what are we going to do today?"
The Wizard's Tower Brewing Co., the biggest attraction in the village of Preston, is usually a bustling and cheerful establishment. Today however, the brewery is nearly completely empty. As you each entered, the proprietor, a young gnome by the name of Glowkindle, was packing up the tables and chairs usually littering the inside of the brewery, currently empty. With you all looking for pint, he worriedly ushered you all towards the last remaining table and went outside to put up the 'Closed' sign. You now all sit at this table enjoying the pints of Tashalar Pale Ale while Glowkindle continues to pack up the glassware behind the counter.
This is your chance to introduce and describe yourselves, feel free to roleplay as much or as little as you want. You can also chat to Glowkindle if you feel like roleplaying with an NPC or going on with the quest.

Varja is a tortle, who manifested arcane magical abilities at a young age and was taken into the guardianship of the Amethyst Academy. He learned to harness his magic at a secluded magical school; after he came of age and completed his apprenticeship, he became free to pursue his own interests, but he must respect the laws and customs that govern all those with spellcasting powers. Under the Edicts of Lumen, mages are disinherited of any noble titles and cannot own land.
Therefore, he had barely anything to his name, mainly money. He decided to become an adventurer and joined a group of other adventurers.
"Well, Bug. I'm just thinking about what kind of spell scroll I would make later." Varja said slowly. "Other than that, it seems Glowkindle needs our help with something."
Grawdor cheerfully plops himself down at the table and immediately pulls out a lute. He plucks at the strings (which are out of tune), and with a wince he adjusts them. After a few tweaks, Graw strums one final chord and smiles as the sound fills the empty tavern.
”Hail and well met, fellow travelers!” he says to the group, his voice full of happiness and excitement. “My name is Grawdor, but you can call me Graw. This place does seem pretty empty, I wonder what could be causing it.”

Sounds like fun! I’ve been a part of multiple PbPs, so I’m used to the format.

I think at this point we have enough but you’re on the wait list if someone has to pull out for sure
