I am seeking players for a new play-by-post campaign. The campaign will take in a broader homebrew world I have created called the Wanderlands, in which people, creatures, items, even whole towns, may show up at random, pulled from their original home planes. This will largely be a sandbox campaign, with the exact story will depend on our mix of characters and where our player’s interest lies.
I’m expecting a few posts a week. People have other things going on in their lives, including myself, I understand that, but one or two posts a week at minimum would be lovely. I’m not expecting anything super verbose. I’m aiming for a focus more on exploration as well as story and character development/interaction than combat for this campaign.
The Campaign will start at level 1. Feel free to use any race, class or background, including homebrew. Rolled stats (4d6 drop the lowest). Campaign will be carried out in a thread here.
You can read more about the campaign setting here.

This looks awesome! Especially since I am one of the few players who enjoy reading lore from their DMs.
Application:
Name: Amor HighSpell
Race: Gem Dragonborn
Class: Wizard (I intend to go order of the Scribes)
Background: Sage
Backstory: Amor comes from a long line of practiced mages originating from Halation. despite his families propensity for chaos magic and wild experimeints, Amor always preferred a quieter form of magical study, spending most of his youth dodging explosions and reading in the library. he has dozens of cousins, who he considers buffoons, as all they care about are flashy explosions and big noises. the only figure in his life he felt he could confide in and trust in was Aunty Emelda, a family friend & connisuier of books detailing fantastical places, of which Amor was also fascinated by. one day, a tragic explosion caused by Amor's own mother destroyed the library, killing Emelda and sending most of her beloved gazetters up in flames. Most, anyway, one book survived, a tome detailing the many wonders of Hearth, that was in Amor's room, being read by him, at the time of explosion. saddened by the loss and disgusted with his reckless family, Amor set out, with only the gazeeter (which doubles as his spellbook), some supplies, & a desire to see the world
1. Minas Mide (Amor would like to see the gnomish inventions)
2. Myrendos (Amor would like to study gem magic)
3. Salasdrun (Amor idolizes the Leonin who once ruled)
About Me
-name: I would rather not share my real name, in an effort to maintain relative anonymity, but you can call me Mo.
-age: as above, though I will say I am fairly young
-experience level: I have been playing for 6+ years, own almost every official 5E book, I also have another DNDbeyond account that has been active since 2021. I am pretty good at optimizing a character, and I am an actor as well, so I know a fair bit about roleplay too. I have played every class (though never a full class monk, I did a lvl 5 monk/lvl 1 warlock once, and that was pretty close. I have played at both high levels (most of the campaigns I have played in ended at lvl 15-17)
-What am I hoping to see: a new experience, preferably something that really digs into lore and affects the world, but also is focused on story and roleplay, with big, epic boss battles!
Make my mark on the world:
1. map location: off the coast, maybe a mile out, is a maelstrom of swirling water. the water around crackles with lightning that fries anything that gets close. oddly, this lightning does not harm inanimate objects, as the way the lightning works is it targets the brain, messing with the electrical pulses in your neurons. those who sail to close have seen a huge, dark shape swim under their boat, and voice whispering in the minds of sailors, speaking in a foreign tongue.
2. Historical Event: 6 decades ago, the city of Halation experienced a civil war. the dispute was whether magic should be regulated and only registered mages were allowed to use it, or whether anyone could use it. the people on the side of "free" magic, so to speak, won. this victory was at a great cost, as many skilled practitioners with notes on various important subjects were destroyed, along with their notes, in the arcane fire that raged across the city in the final battle of the war
3. Mystery: recently, most gems have started randomly displaying powers, randomly causing bursts of wild magic. this has wreaked havoc in the city of Myrendos.
4. Current Threat: recently, a swarm of ships sailed into Stormpoint, bringing with them a crew of vicious pirates who are lead by Ol' BubbleBeard, a ruthless young water genasi alchemist. Bubblebeard is searching for something, sending forays of bandits out across the continent, but what they are searching for, nobody knows.
Edit: added the what do I want to see section, which I forgot.
Name: Trill (she produces a series of notes as her name, but Trill is what she answers to)
Race: Kenku
Class: Bard
Background: Sailor
Backstory: Trill grew up on near the docks, and learned her first songs (and curse words) from the various sailors stopping in at port. She found occasional work in the inns and taverns, both cleaning up and serving (being able to repeat customers orders verbatim in their voice), and occasionally being able to perform. What she really wanted was to have a position on a ship, and eventually convinced a captain to take her on board. It started as a joke, assigning her to the crow's nest, but with her sharp eyesight and being high above the ship, it was almost like flying, a deep desire for almost any kenku. Thus passed the best few years of her young life, before the ship she crewed was set upon in a fog by a pirate vessel, and the rest of her crew slaughtered. She made it through, and seeks information on the ship that ended her dreams.

I'm interested in the description of Halation, so I let my imagination wander a bit there....
Add a Point of Interest to the Map: In the center of the forested area to the west of Halation rises the Shajara, a single tree of enormous proportions.
Add a Historical Event: Long ago, Halation used to be separate from the mainland, until an earthquake caused the adjoining land-bridge to appear. The earthquake was felt all throughout the continent of Hearth, except for in Halation itself...
Add a Mystery or Enigma to be Explored: All who attempt to travel to the Shajara Tree find themselves hopelessly lost in the woods, magically unable to reach the forest's center.
Add a Current Threat: Of late a number of unusually fierce and odd-looking creatures have roamed out of the the western forest and troubled Halation's outskirts. The frequency of these invasions is increasing, as well as the size and deformities of the creatures themselves. None have yet discovered the source of the attacks...
