(Out of character) Recap: The half Drow would have to start. They have to create a sharp object for everyone to cut loose with. From there, they're going to provoke the guardsmen with their infallible guttermouth, drawing them close to the outer wall of the wagon while we cut loose. Then, Adelwald, Aeliaz and Boomi ram the same wall. When the wagon goes, it should crush or pin the guards. While the little men tear the floorboards out, our resident ranger will be cleaning the trapped guards of weapons and needed loot. Once we're free, the dwarf and the halfling will guard the rear using the recovered weapons and whatever armor is found, giving the rest to the bard with the warning that they probably won't last long without allies. At that point, it'll be the aarokokras' job to fly our final sleeping ally out of immediate danger. The bard will provide magical backup to the two men fighting, and as soon as our feathered friend returns for Adelwald, they'll take up the weapon he leaves behind. The last part is where things get tricky. Once Adelwald is safe, Aeliaz will have to fly back once more for Boomi. The moment Boomi drops his weapon and his feet leave the ground, our little elf will need to withdraw immediately, grabbing his weapon as well. They should have no problem evading the last few guards, by whatever means, and meeting the rest of us at the rendezvous.
The halfling turns to the bard. Continuing to whisper, he replies:
The biggest issue is assuming they plan to stop at all. For all we know, they may have eaten before we awoke. In that case, it may be a while before we stop again. By that point, we may be far hungrier and weaker than we are now. As for why I'm asking only for a small shard, it's to spare you of using excess energy. We still have no clue where exactly we are and there may be further tribulations in the not-so-distant future, so going at full charge before we know what we're facing will only serve to hinder us in the long run.
Besides, he lowers his voice further, there's no guarantee the food they give us won't be drugged. It could be over before it starts.
The unconscious deep gnome wakes up and looks around confused. His hands go straight to his staff, just to find it missing. As is his backback. Well, at least he still has his limbs so is a force to be reckoned with.
"Where are we. And how long have we been here?" in a much quieter voice, he whispers to the other captives."If we need to escape, I can create some dark around us that not even our captors can see through. Unfortunately we won't be able to see through it souther so we will need to know where we are going."
The blind man smiles at the sound of this new voice. In a hushed tone, he replies:
Not just yet, my compatriot. We've already made two plans of escape and are simply voting for the one most preferred. Whichever one is chosen, when the fighting breaks out, stay with the bard and watch their back. Grab any weapons you can find and distribute them. That will significantly improve our chances. When the time is right, give the bard your darkness so that the pair of you can follow the aarokokra to our rendezvous without being tracked.
He turns back to Aeliaz.
And with that, our plans change slightly. If we choose to escape now, your first priority will be to find and secure any food or water, and fly it to the safe point. Leave the weapon scrounging to our new friend. From there, you retrieve the dwarf and I as previously discussed. Afterwards, the bard and our new friend can slip away from their pursuers. You'll need to guide them back to us. If all goes well, we'll have food, water, weapons, and a nice head start.
"Okay, okay. That's enough. I agree with your plan, Halfling," Azhumi raises their hand to stop the vote, knowing well that someone with Drow heritage may not win the group's popularity. "But don't underestimate my power, old man! For me, there is no difference between making a small coin and a full-scale statue of you! However, well, I can only create one at a time. It must be worth no more than 60 gp and lasts only 2 hours. Also… I have to take at least 8 hours to make something new. So… you've got some points."
Azhumi taps the floor again and makes a new list of plans.
Step one, make a flute axe (or a normal great axe if it's too hard to make). Cut everyone's restraints.
Step two, lure the captors to the right side of the cart (Hey Halfling, can you hide behind the birdman and Dwarf? I'll make them believe that you escape and hide on the right side of the cart).
Step three, give Boomi a bardic inspiration and help action to turn over the cart and trap the guards underneath it.
Step four, the Dwarf hacks and destroys the floor with the axe. Everyone gets out of the cart, taking everything useful from the guards under the cart.
Step five…
"Oh, you woke up, sleepyhead," the bard turns their eyes to the now-awakened Gnome. "It's good to know that you are not dead weight. You can only cover the captors in the dark. I'll make them confused and buy more time for our escape. Or… maybe I should make the guards believe that YOU have escaped. That sounds better than the old blind Halfling suddenly disappearing."
"If we don't want darkness, I could alternatively prevent sound from escaping. But they would still see us. Or I could increase all of our ability to sneak. Though, that would require a quiet escape. I can only do one of these before resting."
Ok, let's begin. Bard, make the weapon. Then get the guards' attention.
To Boomi and Aeliaz: Take position with me on the other end for a full charge. Our new friend -- ah, what's your name? He shakes his head. Later. For now, cut everyone free and hide.
Back to all:
Remember your jobs once we're out. This is going to go fast once the cart topples.
Can you help us on what rolls we need for the first half (up until the cart topples)?
Bard has to conjure a weapon without drawing attention and, after passing it off to the Monk, draw the guard to the right. Monk has to quietly cut everyone free, then hide. Then the Cleric and Ranger help the Barbarian flip the wagon.
"Morning bird. This is Azhumi the bard," the Dark-Half-Elf says, glancing at the Aarakocra.
@Adelward
Azhumi considers the Halfling's plan. "Well, it's not bad. But food and drink are still a problem. I made adjustments for your plan..." The bard uses their index and middle fingers to tap the wooden floor like an improvised drum. They start slow and then accelerate the rhythm. An illusion of pictures and script appears on the floor, explaining their plan to others. (Casting Minor Illusion)
First, use magic to summon an Unseen Servant under the floor.
Second, wait for their captors to have a meal, then order the servant to create mayhem on the right side of the cart.
Third, figure out who the key holder is, casting Phantasmal Force on them, screaming about an invisible monster attacking the caravan to create more confusion.
Fourth, break the floor with Dwarven strength, bardic inspiration, and help action. (By the way, if we wait until the caravan has lunch or dinner, can't we slip away from the hole on the floor without knocking over the cart?)
Fifth, let the servant steal the keys if we fail to open a hole on the floor, grab as much food and drink as possible, and RUN!!!
"And hey, why do I have to make a little pointy stone piece when I can make a battle axe for the Dwarf... Wait a second. Why don't I make two at once?"
@DM
Can Azhumi use Performance of Creation to make a flute with a sharp iron axe head on it, like a Native American's pipe tomahawk?
Taking some liberties, but sure, I'll allow it this time.
Can you help us on what rolls we need for the first half (up until the cart topples)?

Several...
So... for starters, everyone roll stealth to see if you avoid catching anyone's attention (including the planning meeting you just had).

Let's put it to a vote: all in favor of the childs' plan, quietly say "aye." All in favor of mine, quietly say "nay."
“I say nay, it’s better if we go at once instead of waiting for our captors to stop.”

His empty gaze and warm smile return to the bard.
Is that all right, sweeting?

We have a ranger yes? Food and water will be less of an issue we can collect as we go. Plus we kill them all we can just take the supplies.
Darkness works fine, friend.
To the bard:
That works.
