"The more, the merrier!" Marc and Wilhorn start playing a jig.

Four things I hate in D&D: People who think the tarasque is the most powerful (an empyrean or kraken can beat it), players trying to seduce bad guys (it's funny though), when a monster roles a NAT 20 (everyone hates that), rolling a NAT 1 (everyone hates that)
Wilhorn is surprisingly adept at playing the flute. This flute in particular. The notes produced sound as if they are coming out of a much more valuable instrument.
He tosses his head back and forth and makes frequent eye contact with the various teammates. With a rise of his eyebrows, he encourages all to join along. Even Drool seems to be prancing in time to the melody.
Marc starts dancing, then hops up onto the wagon and starts belting out Burn Butcher Burn (yes, from The Witcher on Netflix).

“Nice to meet you, Marc. Same, although I’m pretty sure I’ve heard the name Sildar before, I can’t remember his significance. It’s just nice to be given the opportunity to get out on the road again. And earn a little coin. And of course, make new friends.”
His voice drops a bit at the end and his eyes lower, giving away his false bravado in conversation.
Just a little retroactive continuity change
Meet Me in Phandalin You start in the city of Neverwinter when,
a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker hires you,
accompanied by a human bodyguard named Sildar Hallwinter,
The two hire you to drive Gundren's wagon of supplies to the small mining settlement of Phandalin. You will be paid 10 gp each by the owner of Barthen’s Provisions once you arrive in Phandalin.
Gundren and his Dwarven brothers are knowable but may need contacts or past interactions to know as part of a backstory.
Sildar Hallwinter, however, does have a minor reputation as a mercenary after retiring as a soldier of the Lord's Alliance.
Anyone wishing to know of Sildar's reputation in the triboar trail region can roll one of the following:
History DC 15 or Investigation, Persuasion DC 20
You know that Sildar was once a Griffon Rider for the Lord's Alliance. He has since retired and now has a seat on the town council of Phandalin.
We have one player who hasn't checked in. I'm going to insert him into the story if he pops up but in the meantime ill let everyone roll perception checks and roll initiative before I post the next box text.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Triboar Trail (Scene 1) You've been on the Triboar Trail for about half a day. As you come around a bend, you spot two dead horses sprawled about fifty feet ahead of you, blocking the wagon's path. Each carcass has several black-feathered arrows, sticking out. The woods press close to the trail here, with a steep embankment and dense thickets on either side. There is an eerie stillness in the air, and an absence of bird songs.
