Oh, don't worry. We'll do that. But I bet my sick moves are better than yours. I'm a monk, afterall. 20gp says I have cooler moves. Bet I can hit a double backflip jump kick
(not sure how you'll run that. My friend in a previous campaign tried it once, and i just had him do a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (for a backflip) and disadvantage on the attack role (because it's hard to land a kick while backflipping))
Current Character(s): Marcon Domine level 2 monk in Lost Mine of Phandelver
Current Campaigns: Icewind Dale: Rime Of the Frostmaiden, Princes of the Apocalypse
Four things I hate in D&D: People who think the tarasque is the most powerful (an empyrean or kraken can beat it), players trying to seduce bad guys (it's funny though), when a monster roles a NAT 20 (everyone hates that), rolling a NAT 1 (everyone hates that)
i say with a smirk i once did a sneak attack launching my rope tied dagger to a wolf pulling it in and stomping it so hey, were pretty much equal in sick moves.

You start in the city of Neverwinter when, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker hires you, accompanied by a human bodyguard named Sildar Hallwinter. The two hire you to drive Gundren's wagon of supplies to the small mining settlement of Phandalin. You will be paid 10 gp each by the owner of Barthen’s Provisions once you arrive in Phandalin.
You start in Neverwinter and agree to take payment for caravan duty.
I'm Ryuulin, just your average boy, here for… well, whatever this is all about. Heard some walking, and followed the sound , and now here I am. Did I stumble into a grand adventure? Or just a particularly serious jog?" (Ryuulin shrugs, a mix of confusion and cautious curiosity in their voice.)
We fast forward to the six day travel where you first describe what we see when we look at your character.
Next, think of the first thing that Ryuulin might say to introduce himself to a stranger.
Read the other party members posts and try to respond, in character, to one or two things but no more than two.
Try to think of what Ryuulin might do to fill his time while walking along and guarding a wagon.
All of this should be in your first post.
Then you will be caught up. Your second post should be in response to "Scene 1"

The occational out of conversation is fine but it should be reletive to this game.

Ryuulin, the enigmatic Aasimar, stands at the edge of a rocky precipice. His pale skin seems to absorb the fading light, and his fiery red eyes scan the horizon. The wind tugs at his long, knotted hair, strands of silver and moonlight entwined. His ripped shirt flutters in the breeze, revealing the faint glow of celestial markings etched across his chest.
Around his waist, a belt holds pouches filled with herbs, trinkets, and secrets. His pants, patched and worn, bear the stains of countless adventures. His sharp teeth catch the last rays of sunlight as he smiles—a smile that holds both curiosity and wariness.

The goblin Ambushers will get a surprise round, and so will some of the players. We are just waiting on a few players to roll initiative and perception.
I've placed periods inside of the square brackets to "break" the roller, so that you can see the formula typed out. Use copy and paste, then remove the periods before posting. No need to do this again, I'll use the above rolls this time.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While the rest of her fellow adventurers have been gabbing away over their first half day of travel, Daewen has been listening attentively and taking a multitude of notes about her observations in her little notebook. As their caravan rounds the corner, however, and approaches the dead horses laying in the trail, she quickly throws her fist up in the air, non-verbally giving the signal to everyone to stop in their tracks, as danger is afoot!
The average stealth check for the goblin party is 13.5, so if you rolled 14 or higher on perception, you will get to act in the surprise round. I'll be rolling for Renselore, to get things moving. When he shows up, he can roll Perception and Initiative or take my rolls and jump in. If his rolls are wildly different, I'll work something out with ret-con to resolve it.
Resnelore, Init 3+3, Perception 11+3
Surprise Round 0 Macon, Init 24, Perception 8 (surprised) Ryuulin, init 23, Perception 16 << Your turn, with your per.16, G4 and G6 are completely hidden to you at the start of your turn. Great! no major change. I'll take your rolls and put you in the initiative order.
Right now we are waiting on Ryuulin to take his turn. This combat is one of the most iconic in 5e. Unfortunately, it involves stealth and opposed perception checks, with a surprise round. Depending on how well things go, I may switch from individual initiative to "group initiative". Group initiative means that players go, all at once, and then the monsters go all together.

It's your turn, describe what your character plans to do. Usually, you would say, "Ryuulin, pulls out his longbow, nocks and arrow and attacks G1 [roll.]1d20+5[/roll.] for [roll.]1d8+3[/roll.] damage. He then moves off of the road 10 feet and cheers them to 'attack those goblins!'"
Or you can say, "I move 30 feet to engage into melee with G1 with my rapier [roll.]1d20+5[/roll.] for [roll.]1d8+3[/roll.]"
You should be able to take a full turn in a single post and make notes like, "I prepare a reaction to cast the shield spell"

@jr12355, I went into your character and selected an equipment set, purchased studded leather for 45 gp, and a hand crossbow for 75 gp plus 60 bolts.
I'll take your first turn, so that we can get things moving, and you feel free to change my choices and I'll ret-con things if you choose that route.
Ryuulin acts fast, seeing a goblin ambush ahead. Quietly and swiftly, he loads a bolt (as part of his attack action) and fires at G1 18 for 6 piercing damage.
He then moves to the other side of Resnelore and uses Bardic Inspiration, as a bonus action, on Daewen

Very nice, that banner sometimes comes up for no reason. When you post dice, try not to do anything for 1-2 min, for best results.
