Upon returning, Hulga, asks you to be brought before her.
"My visions are never wrong. The Giant Tribe who call themselves the Curseborn, they may be strong, but destiny is on our side. Should they ever send agents to challenge us, I will be vigilant and look for the warning signs. Brothers and Sisters of the Three Waters, please answer the call to defend us in the future. Although I am blind, I see that the Curseborn will return."
3+1 = 4 hours later (rolled in log) Tambor awakens. "What happened? Did we win?" she asks before seeing the dead Fomorians, "Ah. Good." She grunts as she gets up. "My head is smarting more than after that celebration we had back at camp. Guess it's time to catch a breath."
Short Rest: Will use 3 hit dice to heal 26. (So at 27 after the 1 from regaining consciousness.) And then another 17 from Lay on Hands for 44.
Ku is excited to see Tambor awake, "Your thunderous smite was exciting to behold. What do we tell the rest of the tribe now that we know that Giants can find us."
"I think it best not to alarm the tribe by telling them of the possibility of a Giant attack, they already have much to worry about over the dealings with the magistrate. I propose we do some light study on the Fomorians, then seek their base camp out and try to handle things as diplomatically as possible. However, if they resort to violence, I'm sure we will have many more allies and more training to help defend against them."
[[ Got an idea of a side-quest idea that could start at the inn. Nothing too fancy, a hook, a simple quest, and a battle or two. Will be busy on the weekend, but can try to get a few things in over it. ]]

(I'm excited to see what you have planned for us. Maybe the owners can pay us in tavern credits. Or we could make a deal to build a side tavern, something humble, made from wood, where we could visit, without bothering the high end patrons.)
Ku is happy playing in the mud while he waits for the next call for warriors. (Thank you Stable Diffusion)
It's been a while since we've done anything so would you guys like if I ran a short side quest to try and keep things going? I'm not entirely sure on what direction this campaign is headed as the main plot/thread of the campaign, being the magistrate, it all seems sort of vague, as there is no real directed 'quest' that we need do in order to beat them, instead it's more just us spit-balling possible ideas that might work without any further evaluation. I'm not that bothered if this campaign becomes just a thread of roughly connected one-shots revolving around the tribe, but it would be nice to have a clearer route and since we don't really have one set DM anymore (not that that's an issue at all, more of just something we need to think about), I don't know how this will all play out. It would be a shame if such a good idea went to waste y'know? What do you guys think?

In this sandbox campaign, I have noticed these story threads. Feel free to create a new thread (ask ChatGPT what a good story thread might be for this campaign)
1. Empire vs Barbarians 2. Curseborn Giants tribal war 3. Tavern Inn
As per your suggestion I asked AI for some ideas and got some good ones back: - Reclaim a valuable magic relic from a rival tribe that is embroiled in the tribes rich history. - Hunt down a powerful beast threatening livestock and picking off hunting parties - Gather ingredients for a shaman's ritual to prevent a disaster foreseen in visions (most likely Hulga) - The water supply is poisoned and we need to find the source of whatever is contaminating and corrupting the tribes water upstream. - Members of the tribe get spirited away by ghosts of ancestors into a Wonderland-esque catacomb beneath the tribelands (my personal fav) - A seasonal festival is threatened by the theft of an heirloom key to the event, and we need to find it to continue the tradition. - Tribal druids notice disturbance in a sacred Dryad grove and find the Empire's loggers chopping it down (ties in nicely to main threat) - The tribe angers powerful elemental spirits and we must complete their trials as the tribe's champions to prove our worthiness (probably a higher level threat) - Forgotten ruins are discovered in the forest (typical dungeon crawl, hack-and-slash adventuring) - A rift forms between two ancient bloodlines of the tribe, threatening conflict, and we must reunite them.
Honestly, these all look like some great ideas and sound great fun to play, the only thing we'll need to make sure of is keeping everyone invested, though since it looks like the way this campaign will go forward will be a sandbox with lots of smaller quests, I reckon it can be very casual.

"Better to be prepared then caught off guard. That was a tough fight. If they send more, we'll need more people."

I'm good with loose one-shots. Just need to see how many others are interested too.
