"What in the world are those?!" Fulqrim braces himself as he quickly draws his swords. He quickly grabs some vials from his bandolier and inserts them into the hilt of the swords. As they click shut, the swords begin do glow a dull red. Fulqrim gives a small smirk as his sword fill his hands with that familiar warmth.

Oh great. Vayu slashes at the closest creature with his scimitar, if it's still alive he'll attack it otherwise he'll use his bonus action to attack the next closest one.
Liana takes a small step back as the buglike creature attaches itself to her, draining her of blood. "I'm fine, I'm fine, focus on swatting these buggers."
If she needs to, she will try to move to be adjacent to as many of these bloodsuckers as she can. Liana throws out a hand and shouts, "Let the light take you!" As she does, red light erupts from her hand and envelops any enemies within 5 ft of her. She casts word of radiance.
(They must succeed a CON Save Vs DC 15 or take 5 radiant damage. If 2 or more enemies are still up, Liana will follow up with a healing word on herself for 4+5.)

Lilliana gasps as the creatures suddenly swarm in and begin biting members of the group. As her fight or flight reflexes kick in with the rush of adrenaline, she starts to take a few steps back as her first thought is to run, but then the voice cuts through the haze of adrenaline and the rushing sound of her heartbeat in her ears. 'Fight.' She recalls that blast of energy she used against that guard, she musters her courage as she stretches out her hand... suddenly a burst of a glowing, blue eldritch energy explodes from her palm and streaks towards one of the nearby creatures! She stares in astonishment at the lingering glow that swirls around her fingertips.

Fulqrim gasps as the creatures fly towards the group. He deftly dodges out the way as the beast strikes out at him. He slaps the beast with his sword, parrying the attack. He then swings an overhand strike with his offhand. "This is quite the interesting creature." He starts to get lost in thought, but quickly regains his senses. "I will have time later to study it." He mutters to himself.

The light incinerates a few of the creatures as they fly about, leaving only two, somewhat dazed by the flash of radiance. The one on Liana also gone, burned by her magic. And as for the other one that still flies about try to dart away, it is meet with Vayu's steel as it cuts it clear through the small hybrid. The one on the lizardfolk persists upon its mark as it ignites with Lilliana's magic, blue fire sprouting from the body as it fall to the floor. The lizardfolk stomps out the remains.
"Indeed, that was well fought, my friends," Liana places a tentative hand on Liliana and whispers, "You did splendidly," giving the other woman a reassuring squeeze before moving on with the rest of the group.
"Why were those things here, you think? I'm fairly certain it isn't usual to find them in the engine room. Where are the engineers? I think this seems fishy."

Nate says, "This is probably all over this ship. The only reason an engineer would leave the engine room empty would be if they were either dead, or something worse is happening on deck."

Lilliana smiles as the blast of energy takes down the last creature and she beams proudly at the acknowledgement from her current companions. "Thank you. We should assume there will be more of them." As they begin to move forward, she uses the ambient darkness to try and blend in out of sight a little.
The buzzing is gone now, but the soft whistling still persists. The exit to the room is dimly light with a person in a black attire and a cloth mask holding up a lantern as they walk down the hallway, checking the rooms.

Does the whistling sound like a person whistling? Or more like wind whistling through an opening?
Investigation 14
Lilliana watches the person closely as she listens intently to the whistling sound, trying to ascertain what it may be, but she seems to be too distracted by the figure.

As far as you can tell, it is coming from the engine room and not from the hallway where the person is.

The hybrids dart towards your group, attacking with their proboscis.
One attaches itself to Liana by its needle like appendage. Liana, you start to feel that the creature is sucking your blood at an alarming rate.
(Costs an action to detach it from yourself, any one can do it.)
Another also attaches to the Lizard, who hissed at the hybrid.
Oh great. Vayu slashes at the closest creature with his scimitar, if it's still alive he'll attack it otherwise he'll use his bonus action to attack the next closest one.

Excellent job! Vayu looks towards the aasimar, impressed by her magic.
Let's keep moving. The closer they get to the city the slimmer our chances are of escaping.
As he says this Vayu moves to the exit and peeks into the next room/on deck.
