"It seems to be safe now for you, Giant-friends." states the Lift.
Ilmo is still looking attentively at the gem, trying to memorize its details as much as he can. He seems to wonder why it is so important to retrieve it, and what immense powers it hides in its small size.
Our heroes go down to the base level and get ready to leave the city, which looked exactly the same after the Roil. Apparently it was protected somehow, or it was just very lucky to escape the effects. The greenish spheres were still in their place, and the other buildings remain silent about their purpose. These streets witnessed a mysterious event happening who-knows-how-long-ago that forced Giants to abandon a city. The thought of something so catastrophic would send chills through anyone's spine.
There seems to be something odd around here... but it's hard to pinpoint the source of this feeling.

Ra'sakar knows that a Roil storm can bring new threats, so he is on edge, ready for a potential fight, but forgetting to survey his new surroundings [Perception 11, Initiative 15].

It's rare that Lerithyn is actually observant of his surroundings, but this time he found himself looking at every detail to see what exactly had changed from the roil (Perception 18). As usual, he is quick to act if any threats present themselves (Initiative 14).
During the Roil storm, Cassiel was surprised of how all the chaos that happened outside looked like the constant chaos inside his mind and heart.
Oh! Feel this energy, this alterations, mutations, metamorphosis! The hole continent changes in a storm of Chaos! It is beautiful, powerful, invigorating! Adriel was clearly in ecstasy during the storm for he is a creature of chaos and chaos is what creates him, empowers him, and for a first time in a while Cassiel was afraid again of what was inside of him.
Cassiel, be at ease, Adriel cannot influence you more then I can and that is only when you let me do it, so his power is only as grand as you let it be.Barachiel tried to calm and assure Cassiel that he was in no danger as long as he didn't give into this Chaos and fear, but Cassiel was afraid, Adriel was gloating incessantly in his mind and the storm outside was grand. So he gathered his mental energy and shrouded himself with the power his curse gave him (Invocation: Armor of Shadows) and in his hand the black rapier with a red pommel reappeared.
When it was time to leave, he got closer to Ra'sakar and asked him: You are from this place, have you ever witnessed something so chaotic as this storm?
"I know that they happen, but I've always been lucky enough not to be anywhere near them. I'm usually able to get an idea of where they are likely to be and when, and attempt to avoid them, but since we had to come this way thanks to House Ghallandra, we had no choice, and I was a little thrown off by the sudden change of plans and forgot about warning you."
Ra'sakar manifests his soul knives as he says this.

Lerithyn observes his surroundings with special attention: the river flooded on one side of the Tower, and one of the constructions seemed to be particularly damaged, large chunks of hubris lying next to this small stream. He could pinpoint three strange silhouettes just a second before they hid among the rocks.
DM says... get ready. Our heroes will start at the right side of the area.
Ra'sakar, not having seen the shady figures, wanders over to the edge of the river [Move to R9]. On edge, he leans over to inspect the river, but ready to leap out of the way of an incoming attack [Dodge action].
Sorry Cassiel, but gonna stick with telepathy in potential combat scenarios. Guys, if we end up fighting sentients, please try not to kill them. It isn't a very nice thing to do. Knocking them out is fine though.

"Three silhouettes on the other side of the river, hiding," Lerithyn says calmly as they approach the new river. "They seem to have taken cover behind the boulders. If you draw them out, I may get a shot... and I'll try to aim for their legs," he adds before taking cover behind a pile of stones along the riverbank. (Move into cover, hold action to fire at the first enemy that shows sign of aggression)
"I think I'll join you Lerithyn." Stribog took a knee and began to hold a flame in his hand. "I'll make a bet with you that I can take down more targets than you can? I'd say 2 silver per person, what do you say?" Stribog had a smile on his face. He clearly enjoyed the idea of gaming while in danger.

Seeing the figures Major heads towards the river (R7), looking over at the others to decide whether to attack. Major places a hand on the crossbow ready for a fight.
(Hold action to fire crossbow after at an enemy that attacks the team)
Cassiel moves toward the straighter part of the river (P13) ready to dodge any possible attack the creatures can throw at him. I agree, we only attack if they are aggressive e not to kill.
(in Cassiel's mind) Not to kill? You are now taking orders from those weaklings? Sometimes you annoy me to much...That means you are taking the right decisions....
When trying to spot the hiding silhouettes, it's clear they were not trying to hide, but just to get some cover, most likely in case of unfriendly fire.
The dark elves look like tribal hunters, wearing something that looks like pieces of chitin armor and their skin painted in pale white.
"Those look like drow" Ilmo says, stating the obvious. "They are cruel and cunning, nomadic deadly hunters who battle the giants themselves during a time. They are far away from home... I've never heard of drows this north of the Ebon Pyramid".
All three drow are holding firmly their bows, while fasting thick arrows on their strings.
Lerithyn waits as instructed, his weapon's barrel resting on the rock he's taken cover behind. He watches the figures through the crosshairs, ready to fire when given the word.
Cautiously, one of the drows takes his head above the rocks covering his body. He's still holding his bow with a ready arrow.
"I'm no vulkoori nor suratar. We belong to no scorpion tribe you might heard of. What are your dealings with the khoravar? What brings you so far and with such companions?"
When looking at and listening to him even at the distance, some disdain can be identified in his body language. You can tell that a wrong answer can turn that into overt hostility really quickly.
(DM note: In Khorvaire, "khoravar" refers to half elves. In Xen'drik, it is a pejorative way to talk about humans, elves, halflings and gnomes, even half orcs. The term never includes warforged.)
"These khoravar needed my assistance in their travel south, and I was bored and feeling generous, so they are paying me well to show them a path that does not guarantee their death. You wouldn't be from around the Ring of Storms would you? I apologise for assuming you were Vulkoori, but it is usually a safe assumption to make."
Ra'sakar, observing that a wrong answer would turn the encounter hostile, feeds the group a half-truth that he believes will calm them. This time, he directs his telepathy at the members of his group.
In order to keep you alive, I am using the elven words that I am using. Some of them aren't particularly nice, but they're still better than fighting these drow.

Ra'sakar reaches out with his mind as he speaks the same words in Elvish. Ra'sakar remains ready to dodge.
"Hail, Vulkoori. What is your tribe? It is uncommon to see non-Sulatar this far north."
