Jethro looks at the bugbear. Perhaps another marital artist, he ponders. He looks to the bugbear's bulky form, probably never seeing one before. If he counts as not much, I wonder how physically imposing others of his kind are. He then looks to the dwarf. A dwarf that seems to have battle scars. I wonder what caused such a mark. He appears to be another warrior of sorts, so hopefully someone else to engage in combat in my stead.
"Danvi Madyrdae," the elf said, stepping up to offer Garadd a handshake as well. So these are our allies? Danvi's eyes darted across the faces of the other five gathered there, his eyes resting just a moment longer on the drow. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintances."
Noticing Danvi's glance at him, the drow stands up and walks over. His clothes are deep blue, he wears a rapier at his hip, and he appears taller than many elves, before you notice that his shoes add at least two inches to his height. He offers his hand to Danvi as he speaks. "The name's Signe. Despite my appearances, I was abandoned by the drow before I could even walk. You can't exactly control storms if you've never experienced one, can you?"
The kalashtar, a young woman, walks over as well. Her golden-brown eyes startling against her otherwise unassuming appearance. She holds a quarterstaff in one hand, a shield emblazoned with an emblem of the sun in the other, and wears chain mail over her plain clothes. "I'm Marakhad, nice to meet you all. Can't wait to work with you all!"
A moment later, a thought enters Jethro's mind, one that doesn't belong to him:And what of you, dark one? What is your name?

Danvi bowed slightly as he shook Signe's hand. "I apologize for my rudeness. It's unusual to see a drow on the surface, much less a benevolent one such as yourself."
Jethro doesn't seem to react to the telepathy, but internally is immediately attempting to clear his mind of thoughts. They either are a powerful spellcaster if they can cast telepathy, or something else is afoot with that one. He thinks to himself. It was foolish to think my own thoughts were not at risk.
He stares for a few seconds at the drow, taking in the dark skin, silvery hair, and pointed ears. He then looks to the kalashtar. "Jethro." He says simply, leaving it at that.
A swordsman, and perhaps a priestess his thoughts trail. I must be wary of that one.
Signe bows slightly upon noticing Jethro's stare, before moving back to the seat he had been occupying when the group entered. At the same time the shifter woman, who had been silent and still until this point, stands. Built like a bear, with slightly bearish facial features, she stands 6'10", with muscles bulging under her skin, covered in brown fur. One sleeve of her red-toned traveller's clothes is all but removed, with the profile of a bear embroidered on what little sleeve remains there. "The name's Bear. Don't like to speak much."
As she is about to sit back down, the council enters the room, accompanied by an elven-looking man, dressed in green robes, who speaks. "So you are the ten who the council has decided are strong enough to accompany me to the mountain. I am Nuras, though I've disguised myself as an elf, as you can no doubt see. If you are all ready, we shall leave in groups of two, so as to remain unknown in the town. Hmm... lets see... as I call you out, I'll have you say your names, so I know them." As he points and identifies each person, he leaves enough time for them to say their names [For the sake of brevity, it is assumed you provide your name, no need to post that detail]. "Blue-robe, with the girl in chain mail. You on the chest, you'll leave with the dwarf. Gauthak, yes, I know your name, with the shifter. Elf, hmm, lets pair you with the drow, that'll be fun. That leaves the construct, and the bugbear to leave the town together. Each pair shall leave ten minutes apart, and I want you to meet up an hour north of town, where I will meet you and we shall continue. Any questions or objections before we go?"

Having studied dragons a little and their language, Raviel was not surprised by Nuras showing in a humanoid form. In fact, he had expected it. The council had expressed on their previous visit Nuras' desire for discretion and a humanoid form is a lot more discreet than a large dragon form.
Raviel addresses Nuras in the draconic tongue; "Greetings, Nuras. It is an honour to meet you. Thank you for this opportunity."
After being assigned, as it were, to leave first with Marakhad he turns to her and switching back to common says, "My lady, if you would be so kind as to lead the way, once we are finished here, to the designated point? Being new in town and not good with navigation I fear going in the wrong direction. I am the type of person to get lost in a square room." He smiles but the joke isn't too much of a joke having once doing just that - getting lost in a square room. In his defence it was a large room with a lot of oddly situated bookshelves. He is convinced that the gnome librarian who ran that place was some sort of chaos-loving, maze-maniac of an evil genius.
Riot goes to Gretu, "As Nuras says, I shall accompany you to our destination. I apologize before hand if that disturbs you, sir, but I must carry out my orders as instructed." He gives a curt bow of his head as to say he ready to follow the bugbear.
"Jethro, was it? I expect that you'll be back in town within the week, unless you decide to part ways before returning to town. Now then, Marakhad and Raviel, you shall be the first to depart. And remember, an hour north of town. There's a small copse there, so wait around there."
As Raviel and Marakhad leaves, the kalashtar speaks. "That sounds like there's a fun story behind that statement. I'll be happy to lead the way if you're willing to tell it on the way. I take it you're a wizard of some sort, given your lack of armour?"

"I am indeed," Raviel confirms with a smile. "I have some arcane talent. From your armour and the symbol on the shield I would assume you are a paladin, or one of those battle-clerics or similar warrior in service to a deity? If you have the power to heal you will be a powerful asset in this mission of ours. I think I will want to stay near to you, aside from blasting magic I have no talent for battle, really."
As they continue on Raviel tells the brief story of how when he was a young apprentice he needed to do research in the local library. It was actually a large library considering the town was not very big. The place was run by a foul-tempered gnome who was always tinkering with some puzzle device or other. It was Raviel's first visit to the library and the gnome led him to the section he needed but he had not been paying attention so when the gnome left he was alone, except for Talon. After hours of research it was time to leave and he got lost between the many bookshelves and aisles. They were arranged in a very haphazard and chaotic manner but it still shouldn't have taken him nearly an hour to get out of there (it did not help the bastard gnome did not respond to his calls and actually laughed). It wasn't until he remembered he could see through Talon's eyes and had Talon go over the bookcases to get the bizarre layout and find his way out that way. The gnome has never let him forget this, despite the many years that have passed since.
"I like to defend myself by saying it really was like a maze but, there have been occasions where I took a wrong turn in my home town, that I have lived in most of my life, and found myself in areas I did not recognise and got lost in. Not just the once either. I'm very bad at retracing my steps or navigating my way around places I am not familiar with. I'm fairly certain if it was not for my familiar I would never be able to get anywhere at all." Raviel gives a short nervous laugh.

Marakhad chuckles as Raviel finishes his tale. "I am a cleric of the Sun, more a healer than a fighter. Chain mail's a bit heavy, but its the best defence I could afford, y'know. If we get into a fight, I don't want to be knocked out while I'm trying to heal someone."
10 minutes after Marakhad and Raviel leave the council house, Nuras signals that it is time for Garadd and Jethro to leave. As they walk out, Garadd takes the lead. "That chest; was it cheaper than a backpack when you got it? It seems far less convenient than one. Also, pleasure to do business with you, Jethro, right? I'm Garadd, from Port Mivruss, across the sea. Pretty handy with a battleaxe. How about you? Given your garb I'd guess you're a spellcaster of some sort?"

Danvi shifted nervously, having merely bowed when Nuras entered. He glanced over at Signe, taking in his armaments and equipment. "So since you said you control storms, I take it you're a spellcaster?"
Jethro continues walking ahead, possibly outpacing the dwarf a little. "The chest contains my worldly possessions." He replies. "It is what I had available at the time. Cloth packs are not waterproof and hold less, too, and I care not for the bulk." Jethro looks to the battleaxe and the dwarf, sizing him up slightly.
Should he attack me, it will most likely be painful, he thinks to himself. My advantage would be my mobility and capability of healing. It would be best to avoid such conflict though.
The dwarf nods slowly. "Right. And what of my other question? You some kind of spellcaster?"
Ten minutes after Garadd and Jethro leave, Nuras instructs Bear and Gauthak to leave. Five minutes later, a council worker comes up and infroms him of some business he has to attend to, so when the time comes for Danvi and Signe to leave, it is the same council member who indicates this to them. "Indeed, I am a spellcaster. I'm what the people of the village I grew up in call a 'storm singer,' though I like to throw ina little bit of swordplay. What do you bring to the table for the group, if you don't mind my asking?"

"Just a martial art, passed down for a millennia, give or take few centuries. I'm not even close to being a master of it, so don't expect too much from me," Danvi replied. "Storm singer sounds new and exciting if you ask me. You could probably make some order based around that or something."
The drow smirks. "Its a rare gift in a village no one's ever heard of. Otherwise, I'm sure there would be one."
Ten minutes after Danvi and Signe leave, Nuras returns to the council house, just in time to send Gretu and Roit on their way. On the way out of town, Gretu turns to Riot. "So your name's Riot, huh? Cool name. I've not seen a creature like you before though; what are you?"
