Bründir, Hurrig and Seid hurl crossbow and fire bolts across the ravine at the remaining goblin, leaving it burned and with a wounded leg, but they fail to hill it. It yelps in pain and surprise and begins to yell out in goblin, limping away from the ravine.
Jex takes a final shot, cursing his luck. The arrow barely hits, but the wounded goblin is already struggling with the earlier gashes and the arrow in the shoulder is enough to take it down. He glances around a little embarrassed.
"My apologies, that should not have taken so long." He rubs his shoulder and flexes his fingers, trying to work the blood back into his fatigued muscles.
"Hold the bridge, we will be back with the weapons shortly." He moves back off into the shadows with Val and Dorno.
With the bridge guards dead, it doesn't take long to slip around the back of the temple to the barracks. It's a wide flat building with several wings, surrounded by a palisade wall that encloses the yard. Fortunately, the big gates are open, although a couple of hobgoblins are on guard. One stands rigidly by the entrance, while another paces back and forth on patrol.
Jex is uncomfortably aware of the proximity of the goblin camps surrounding this area. Any sound could give them away.
Meanwhile, Thurston slips ahead across the bridge and begins rolling the goblin corpses softly into the darkness of the ravine.
Bründir meets Thurston across the ravine and assists in the disposal, "True, but I'm worried they'll notice the one screamin' bloody murder with an arrow in it's leg first."

Jex looks around the side of the building looking for a better approach. He nods sideways at Dorno to follow and stands him with his back to the wall, gesturing for him to hold his hands together. Using him as a springboard he jumps up for the roof, landing with just a slight stumble. Lying down watching the hobgoblin, he draws his shortswords and a small vial, coating the blades with snake venom harvested from his pet cobras. Waiting for the right moment, he drops down behind the door guard, thrusting a sword through his shoulder blade and into his spine catching him and dragging him sideways slightly out of view, he spins around catching the pacing guard before he turns, drawing the second blade across his throat. He takes a second to pull both guards firmly out of sight.
Val stares at the door, looking at Jex impatiently before remembering he cannot see her. She pokes him on the shoulder and leans in to whisper into his ear, stooping down low. "The door is locked. Work your magic."
Jex shrugs at the minor inconvenience. He goes through the ritual of checking the lock, looking for where the intricate parts of the mechanism would meet. He is about to begin manoeuvring the levers into position when a sudden thought strikes him and he begins to pat down the corpse of the hobgoblin that had been guarding the door.
Jex is in luck and finds a loop of keys hanging from the hobgoblin's belt! The door opens with a creak and the trio slip inside. It doesn't take long to find the armoury and soon both Dorno and Val are laden with crates full of leather armour, spears and other basic weapons.
Allowing the two giants to sort out their loads, Jex decides to have a little look around the armoury for himself, searching for any particularly nice weapons that may suit him.
Propped up against the wall in a dusty corner, Jex spots a languishing old battleaxe that seems far too fine for such a fate. He looks it over and is pleased to see that the craftsmanship is truly remarkable. Looks like the work of a dwarven smith.
Handing the Axe to where Val's voice seems to be coming from, Jex heads back for the door. Ready to lead the way carefully to the bridge and the rest of the group. He feels strangely alone, despite Val's invisible presence and knowing that the little mouse on his shoulder is still Dorno. It strikes him that it is now quite some time since he has been alone and makes a mental note not to become to reliant on having companions to watch his back. That could get him killed.
Once Valaith and Dorno have gathered everything they can, the druid transforms into a mouse and they all head for the bridge. Not long later Jex pops up besides the other team, as though he had been there all along.
From what Seid has told the group, the miners are being held in the houses along the edge of the ravine, while the other civilians are further north.
"let's give this weapons to the miners and prepare these goblins a surprise they will not soon forget." says Thurston helping the others to carry the weapons and armors
Jex nods. "I will check ahead, take care of any guards before they hear you. You do not share Thor's light-footedness my friend." He gives a wink. "Then whilst you arm the people, Seid and I will pay a visit to his old friends, try to delay their involvement in the conflict with some problems of their own." He disappears a few feet ahead, scouting the building for guards.
Jex peers out around the edges of the buildings and down the road where Seid had indicated the prisoners were being kept. With so much on his mind, he stumbles on some loose mining debris close to the ravine, sending it tumbling down the rock face with a clatter. He quickly pulls himself up against the wall in case anybody is looking, but it seems there was no need. The two goblins sat 'keeping watch' outside the door he is looking for, are in fact sat in the dirt playing cards. Neither of them even looks his way.
Jex rakes the mouse from his shoulder, whispering in its ear.
"Dorno, I need some help. Quietly and quickly you need to steal something from them, maybe a card, and run away around that corner, not far, just enough to get him out of the way, then drop the card and come back."
He lowers the mouse to the ground and watches as it scurries across the road, daggers drawn ready for the perfect moment to strike.
A few moments later a tiny mouse whips one of the cards out from in front of the goblins and hurries off towards the corner. Both goblins jump to their feat and give chase, shouting angrily.
One of the goblins is about to grab the little mouse but it passes trough a pair of boots. The goblin stops and raises slowly his head to see a huge norscan grinning at him with a warhammer on his hand.
Thurston smashes the head of the goblin, hitting him hard on one side of the head. The goblin spins to his right but before it can even finish one turn the paladin smash the head of the goblin again, breaking his skull. The creature is dead before it touches the ground.
The other opens his eyes wide and he is going to scream but a couple of silent thuds and sudden movements indicates that Jex daggers had found their mark. The second goblin falls to the ground too.
The little mouse climbs up to Thurston shoulder. He looks at his friend and says
"Have you seen Dorno? You can call me now Thurston the Silent! Ha! I have a good master on Jex the Invisible!"
