The following are the rules for posting and playing in this game. Please read these rules carefully and follow them as you best can. Always feel free to ask questions or for clarification on rules.
Posting
When not in battle, post to your heart's content. When in battle, only post for your turn if you can, but feel free to quip if you'd like.
All posts should be in the third person. I do not care about your tense as long as I can read it!
Use "Quotations" when you speak. Pick a color and use that color for your speech. This makes posts easier to read and see who is talking. Bolding your speech is recommended, but not enforced. Please choose a color that is easy to read. You may be asked to change the color of your speech.***
Sentences should be complete. No chatroom speak or excessive use of shorthand.
Most rolls will occur in the thread. Some rolls can occur in Discord (for example, you are unable to post a roll via mobile). There may be moments, for the sake of secrecy, you may be asked to roll in private. I'll provide direction on when this happens. 😃
Keep most OOC to the OOC thread or discord aside from leaving quick questions or statements inside of (parenthesis).
When using abilities, please provide the tooltip if you can! (Example in spoiler)
How do the tooltips/links to spells etc work?
D&D Beyond offers the ability to link certain aspects on the forum in mouse-over triggered tooltips, such as magic items, monsters or combat actions - examples being Adult Black Dragon and dash. To create tooltips in this way as these, use the appropriate [tag][/tag] around the desired subject.
Example: [ magicitem]sunblade[/ magicitem] (Without spaces within the [ ] brackets.)
When we are in combat, feel free to post your turn whenever, even when out of sequence. The DM will summarize everyone's posts and include enemy action and movement at the end of the round.
Home Rules
Epic Heroism: Short Rests are 5 Minutes. Long Rests are 1 Hour.
Healing Surge: As an action, a character can spend up to half their hit die to recover HP in battle. You roll the die and add your constitution modifier. You cannot use this action again until after you complete a short/long rest. First level characters cannot use Healing Surge.
Inspiration Action: Inspiration can be stored and you can have a maximum of 3 points. You may spend 3 inspiration points to take an additional action during your turn. This action can only be used for a Standard or Movement action.
Passive Initiative: Initiative will not be rolled. It will be determined with the following calculation: 8 + Dex Mod + Any bonuses.
Battle Summary: Everyone will post their turn in battle when they can instead of posting via initiative order. DM will sum up the battle in their post which will include what the enemies are doing. This means you may not know what the enemy is doing until the DM posts the summary. Whenever a player takes an action that would become null and void due to player or enemy movements, DM will contact player over Discord -or- will redirect player action in a way that is beneficial to player (whichever player prefers).
Help Action: When one character help actions another character outside of combat, they either must be trained in the same skill as the check OR they must be able to justify why a different trained skill would help. The player must also roleplay out exactly what they do to help. Help Action in battle still grants advantage. No skill check required.

Curtains of water fall from the sky as you traverse the labyrinthine walkways of Sharn. The stone and wooden paths wind around and between the towers and spires high above the ground, forming a complex latticework that can be very confusing on evenings such as this. The rain falls hard, running off higher walkways and balconies in drenching waves, making it difficult to see much more than a few feet ahead of you. The distant glow of everbright lanterns, barely visible in the soaking gloom, does little to light the paths on this warm, wet evening.

Archy trudges through the sheets of falling water. His wide brimmed black hat droops under the weight of it. He ducks into an alleyway and fruitlessly shakes some of the rain from his heavy dark green duster coat. He might be able to keep out of trouble, if he could keep from standing out, but his long wiry limbs, red hair, and mischievous grin seem to draw the eye. Not to mention people the world over are distrusting of Halflings.
He's back home now, back down in the lower city, in the muck. Easy come, easy go, anyway.
He'd be able to find a place to stay and get out of the rain. He'd find an aunt or a cousin around just about any corner. If not he'd give a pretty a girl a wink and a smile, and she'd give him a warm bed for the night. He wasn't really in the mood for that just now. The trouble his smile had gotten him in is what got him running back down here in the first place after all.
Wilhelmina ducks and weaves under awnings, barrels, doorways, and windowsills. She nimbly hops over puddles, and manages to stay fairly dry despite the downpour. She spies lit window with a seal of House Ghallanda. She smiles, knowing that she will be welcome there.
She opens the doors, soaking the smell and sounds of the tavern. She is immediately greeted by the innkeeper, who recognizes her Mark. "Welcome, welcome, cousin! You have bread and hearth here!"The middle aged Kithkin leads her through the crowd, finding her a clean table. Heads turn as the kithkin girl follows in his wake. Her hair is the color of summer barley, and her smile lights up the hearts of the patrons. A pair of dimples give her a coquettish look. She is truly beautiful, and even in a city as large as Sharn, not many have seen loveliness such as hers.
Wilhelmina hops up on her stool, and smiles back at the innkeeper. "Hearth and home to share,"she replies with the traditional Ghallanda greeting.
Yrwin loves his job. The smell of roasted boar permeating the air, the clinks and clunks of tankards and dishes bumping to each other as they're being washed, the fireplace heat warming him and the meat to their very core, the sight of perfectly lined up meals on their way out and definitely the fact that he had the right to taste on every meal he made. "To make sure it is perfect for the customer of course" he always replies when the cooks assistant asks why he has to taste every meal he preps.
Yrwin works as a cook, and it shows. A little on the heavier side for a kithkin, but not enough to make him sluggish. As per usual he is wearing a golden brown linen shirt under a sauce spotted and half dirty apron. He wipes his hands on the back of the apron and pulls a set of chubby fingers through the bright orange hair on his head. "A circus gorgon with untied tapshoes, ready for ya bruv!" He signals for the waiter to come pick up the roasted boar. It's nearing the end of his shift and Yrwin couldn't be any happier, it's been a long day, although a productive one. He puts a hand into the bag at his belt and grabs a pinch of pepper flicking it into the air above himself and casts Prestidigitation to start cleaning up those drops of sauce and grease that have made their way past his apron barricade.

Darnic pulls his traveling cloak tighter as the rain picks up. Walking around Sharn is like trying to navigate a labyrinth these days. It’s been so long since he’s been here, he’s almost forgotten how to get around, but he’s managing. He stops near a window, checking street names and catching a glimpse at his reflection in the window. He is, suffice to say, a walking mess. With a haphazardly shaven beard, unruly hair, a bandaged right arm, scars and bruises all over, and more layers than one would care to shake a stick at, it’s clear that Darnic has not had the best time making his way to Sharn. Yet, he gives a weary smile as he takes in the city and mutters to himself, “Well Darnic, you finally made it back in one piece...” He winces a bit from his aches and pains, as he chuckles to himself, “Mostly one piece... Oh it hurts to laugh... Ah.”
"You must be lost." a familiar voice chides Darnic from the alley. "My cousins are real welcoming to people of all sorts... But if you're gonna come back from the dead..." Archy comes out of the shadows to greet his old friend. "You can't have been in Sharn long; You look like shit... You don't look as bad as the rumors say though." He looks the man over again. "Come on, there's a nice spot up ahead."
Archy starts to lead Darnic to a nearby Ghallanda Inn, though truthfully he wasn't certain of the way either. He thought he was heading toward that inn...
Darnic stares at Archy, trying hard to remember something, then it clicks, “Archy... well, that’s a sight for sore eyes.” Darnic follows him in stride, “Dead huh? News to me. Can’t blame them though, I was out of action for a while.”

Yrwin hangs his apron on the hook by the kitchen entrance and walks out into the main bar. As he enters the small space behind the counter he notices a familiar face sitting by one of the tables. He let's out a hearty laugh and climbs up on the counter, shouting at the female form by the table. "OOOOY, cousin Willie! What are you doin' here?" Yrwin leaps ungracefully off of the counter and makes his way over to Wilhelmina through the small crowd gathered at the bar. "Now now cuz.
