OOC: Pat's rowing gnomes, he can see over them and all of this happening. The schooner is 60ft out and no it most definitely can not sail away before y'all get their but uh row hard maybe? "Hey! Wait for us!"Folzi calls out to the ship. He pulls out a dirty, formally-white handkerchief and waves it. "Oh shit! Let's get a move on!" As the sails begin to open up, the gnome picks up on an oar and begins to help.
Hrain pushes himself harder trying to reach the boat as quickly as possible. "Keep your eyes open they may not trust us, hells they may not even be on our side!" he calls over to Lyra. He cranes his neck trying to get a good view of the approach and the ship itself, looking for threats himself.

Folzi finds No third oar but instead tries to use his hands but the petite gnome can barely reach the water on the side of the boat anyhow! He's enthusiasm however is visible to all.
No threats can be seen by Hrain but bkth boats now hear an amplified voice, "who goes there," from somewhere in the direction of the ship!

Father Pat starts to Row (Dash) is that is possible (Athletics roll if needed 7) all the time muttering to himself "c'mon you old bastard, this is nothing like the march on Corregidor and you did that easily!" I think Father Pat may have as they say in rowing parlance 'caught a crab' as he drops an oar.
To Folzi's horror he watches as Pat drops an oar and it sinks beneath the icy water. One oar down their dingy slows as Hrain's overtakes them. No one has yet to respond to the call from the ship to identify themselves!

"Lyra, call for help. They may well respond to you better than a man in full plate with a sword" Hrain asks of the sorceress as he continues to row, wincing as he sees Pat coming unstuck.

Lyra nods, but takes a moment to think of whatsay. Trying to be rather carefull this time, she stands up and shouts something back to the ship, as loud as she possibly can. "PLEASE! HELP US! WE'RE JUST TRYING TO GET AWAY!"Not entirely satisfied with those words, she mugs and waits for the answer.
(DM: What kind of check for Folzi to be able to try to grab the oar with his mage hand?)
Feeling the boat suddenly loose half of its power Folzi turns back to the half-orc. "Whoa, whoa... What happened?! We're not even being fired on and you drop an oar!"
"Whoa, whoa... What happened?! We're not even being fired on and you drop an oar!"
Not sure whether Folzi is impugning his courage or not, Father Pat yells back "I'd like to see you do better. I'm not even sure you can reach the oars?"

Folzi easily grabs the fumbled oar handing it back to the half-orc. They ship ahead begins to pull up the lifeboat used to bring goods and crew ashore.
"Identify yourselves or meet the sea your final resting place," a very young very tempestious voice rings out from the direction of other which sounded not honestly that much older but still more mature as canon still roll forward out of potholes!

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"We mean none of you any harm, do not fire. Please let us come aboard, I'm sure you have no wish to have innocent lives on your hands, you know that leaving us behind will be a death sentence." The paladin says all this whilst trying to maintain the angle of the boat to come alongside the ship.

"If you have any weapons you will surrender them. If you have magic you will not use it or you will be put to death aboard, or in the water your choice," the more mature voice booms. "Approach," they add. "What is offered as payment for safe passage," they continue as the canons remain at the ready.

"How about we haggle on the deck but we can pay our way, you can throw us overboard if you don't like our offer?" Hrain counters "Most importantly, you will have extra defenders if needed but time is of the essence here. Lower the boat so we can come aboard." The paladin looks at Lyra trying to gauge her feelings on these developments and hoping that the other boat are still on track.
