OoC: Is there anything anyone wants to do before a long rest (finally! still don't have my level 3 spells yet)? If nothing comes up, Ordrin will eat drink and sleep. In the morning he'll get out early to buy a war hammer before joining the party to go to Wave Echo or wherever. Please let me know cost of food, lodging, and hammer.
Mixum follows suit. "I'm interested in this Echo Cave, hopefully I can make some progress there.." he pauses when Pip's words sink in.. "Witch ?!? What witch??"
Unless Sildar's words eventually involve a follow-up on "where" Wave Echoe Cave was, a tired Lokk pats Pip on the shoulder. "You're putting the cart before horse, Shortstuff. We need to ask the druid Mr. Gundrun here mentioned about the place." He reminds, and looks to Gundrun for confirmation. Nodding at the eventual answer, he cracks a crooked grin at Mixum. "Worry of one thing at a time, little one. Now. If that's all. I see you all in the morning."
After addressing everyone with that last few words, a questioning look is leveled on Sildar. "Sir Sildar? You know where the blacksmith is?" Once he had an answer, Lokk pays for a room up front, but heads out to sell his plate and purchase some studded leather.

Toblen, the inn keeper, refuses the payment. "Sildar here paid up front for your group. Rooms are yours for the week". Sildar offers to escort you there, and walks with you to the Lionshield coster, a short way down the street. Well not carrying anything extraordinary, they have a pretty standard selection at reasonable prices. (You can sell any gear for 1/2 book price, and buy anything standard equipment listed in the Players Guide, book price.)
Nodding off at the table, Pip finishes his meal and heads for bed. "I, err, uh, good night. See you in the morning." he says as he drags his feet up to his room and sleeps soundly.
The following morning Pip comes downstairs well rested.
"I spent the morning studying and learned some new tricks. I'm eager to get going again. I really needed the rest but I'm ready to continue now." he says as he helps himself to breakfast.
Lokk thanks Sildar, realizing in hindsight that alone any of the ruffians might've gotten ideas. After completing his purchases and sales the half-orc returns looking rather pleased with himself. Or at least, as pleased as the normally more taciturn fellow can show at any given moment.
The following morning:
Lokk is late to breakfast, having trapped his room the previous evening, and needing to put everything away again. "Now that was some good sleep. Managed to get a decent deal out of that plate. Probably would've gotten more for cleaning it up better, but..."Trailing off into a shrug, He sets down 4 pouches, and pushes them off to the rest of the party. A look inside reveals a good number of gold and silvers(54gp, 6sp).
"Kept quite a bit of the profits to pay for a few future endeavors. But still, that should be a healthy enough sum. So, if any of you want to make last minute purchase 'fore we head out to meet the one fellow.. Which come to think of it. Where was he again? Think it had something to do with a tree."
Putting what was sold and bought for record keeping here:
Ordrin buys a new shield and warhammer, cursing that he lost the ones from Gutterpeak. When the group convenes at the inn, Ordrin is shoveling food into his mouth while at the same time hammering out his annoyance inscribing his clan mark on his new gear with a steel pick and a small hammer.
OoC: Warhammer (15gp), shield (10gp). Ordrin still has the splint mail on. Does anyone want it or some gold in exchange?
OoC: Wasn't there a spare set of plate that we found? Ordrin should get it if he wants it, IMO, since Anton already has plate, and Ordrin is I think the only other member who can can wear it.
Anton only has a few transactions to make, and returns from the coster quite quickly, and head straight to bed.
OoC: I think Lokk sold the plate. He's a thrifty half-orc :) Ordrin likes the look of the splint anyway. Btw, I thought we found a map to the cave. Can't remember though, maybe it was to the castle.
OoC: Yeah, saw that. I was thinking that a big value item like that obtained as loot, the party should probably get some say with what to do with it. I know different groups have different norms about that, and I don't think we've discussed it explicitly, but I've always been of the "all loot belongs to the party as a whole" school of thought.
OoC: It's all good. With the splint and 2nd level spells Ordrin is feeling pretty good.
Having finished inscribing his new gear Ordrin puts the last touch on the warhammer, affixing Klarg's wolf carving to the pommel. "Ach, Ripper," he says softly to the carving, "I would'na killed ya if you'd been a nice puppy."
There were 3 sets of plate armor the DM mentioned. One that Anton got from an earlier fight, and another 2 more pristine ones at the ambush point. I have gone on record reminding people about the new set of plate at least TWICE, but noone did anything about it. And Lokk was not gonna lug around 2. I felt like I was already "getting away" with enough as is trying to get the one back along with his previous stuff AND sildar's armor. So, it was either be a butt hole about constantly reminding people until they got it, or be the arsehole who wisely stopped after a while trying to "force" a non-issue.
Not that I was gonna come off as one regardless for keeping the lionshare on the plate. But to an extent I was prepared to have it called out IC and deal with the consequence, then just have it assumed he's lugging around armor for everyone. If its something like amulets, jewelry, magic item, or things along those line, feel free to assume status quo without needing to have it brought up explicitly.
And yes, Lokk had mention on several occasions his intent to go shopping, but no need to go back on the whole handaxe deal.
As for the map, we never found it. It is presumed it was taken by the fake Gundrun who ran off. GRANTED, we didn't do a final sweep for it in the area itself for it afaik, but it wasn't on any of the bodies, so... yeah. Its off to the see the "wizard" for us unless people have an epiphany~
Lokk squints at Pip, then gave smirk. "And here I thought I was the only one holding out." He lets out a good nature chuckle. "I jest. Thanks. Though I'd be lying if I said this bounty doesn't feel me with a bit of guilt."The Half-Orc comments on idly while considering the pouch in hand. Aside from those last words he gives the nod to signal him being good to go after breakfast and the alike are taken care of. "You know.. it might not be a bad idea to get horses though. Maybe a wagon as well. I'm willing at least to fit the bill for a horse and wagon at least, if we feel we might wind up acquiring a bigger bounty in the future? Would at least make it easier to get to wherever we need going."

Pip looks a bit sheepish.
"Ya sorry, I had forgotten I had picked them up at some point. I had just been carrying them around so I sold them. Trying to lighten the load."
OoC: Correct, you didn't find a map
"I reckon if anyone knows where the wizard got off to it's Miss Thornton. Shall we pay her a visit?"
