"We are more of a, uh, round table of sorts really. Ask your questions, we'll answer honestly." Isk says as he takes the maul from his back loop and sets it down, rather gently, to the floor..
Karnic remains quiet at the back of the group, shifting the weight of his backpack around as he had picked it up again before being escorted out from the tavern. He tucks his holy symbol back inside his vestments and takes time to study the two warforged that are standing by the door.

"You any of you know who you just picked a fight with," Caradoc asks the group with a dark brown eyebrow. "If not I'll tell you. Those are the grand Emperor Aurelian's nephews. They came here like most of the lowlifes with no money or sense who blow through this town looking to make a fortune with little thought to those who live here. You think the maze will be tough?! Imagine having the Empire breathing down your necks before your execution if one of you had harmed those boys," he growls!
Caradoc is a dark skinned hill dwarf. He looks middle-aged and slightly weathered. He has wide set brown eyes and a constantly quizzical expression when he's not speaking.
"Your friend here doesn't seem the civilized type but in my town we all behave or else you sit in my jail until I pass judgement," he adds glaring. "If the maze if you business I'll release you and tell you ro clear out. Plenty of places to camp near the West entrance. It should open on the full moon which is tomorrow evening," he adds sharply. "Questions," he adds his expression very, very, VERY hard.
Flint will speak up. "Would you allow some of us.. or maybe even just one of us to spend a little more of our gold in your fine town before departing? " Flint. would remove his helmet and look Caradoc in the eye. "I swear, we would leave town immediately after quickly finishing our business.. but I understand if you won't give us the chance to make a mess of things again" casting a quick glance to Griff.
Karnic turns his attention from the warforged to the Dwarf saying, "A few of us need to resupply and perhaps peruse a few of the other shops. May we be allowed to do so before having to leave the town? As much trouble as a few of us have caused, it would be a shame to turn away possible business for the shops and town in general." (Persuasion: 9 if needed. I sometimes wonder if the RNG hates me.)
Griff sits in his chair head down like a dog who's been yelled at. He fidgets in his chains then sits up.
"This was my doing. Forgive me.. like you said i'm not the civilized type, shit, before this the last time I was in a town of this size was when I met up with these guys and that was a while ago now. I've spent my time running around the woods with wolves. Don't give them no trouble for my doings. I can stay outside the town walls if it means they can stay" Pleads Griff. "I didn't know who those boys were and I didn't come here looking for trouble, but trouble sometimes finds me "
Karnic walks over to Griff and places a hand on his shoulder saying to him, "A wise man once said: Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. He also said: Be not ashamed of mistakes and thus make them crimes."

Isk puts a hand on Griff's other shoulder and looks at Caradoc squarely, "I vouch for this one and give you my word as a chosen of Torm, you won't have any more trouble from us. If you would be so good as to remove these manacles, I'll take Griff out to camp by the maze entrance while the rest spend their coin."
"A wiser man said once don't go pulling knives on aristocrats in bar or better yet don't go pulling knives on anyone in bars full stop! Half this town relies on your troubadour business sure but most of us make due with crossroads business," Caradoc replies with a curt tone. "He stays away," the dwarf jabs a finger at Griff, "and I'll allow you," he points to Flint, "and you " he points to Isk, "to gather remaining provisions with your remaining party. Anymore trouble and I'll let my guard have you for target practice! I don't need the Emperor sending troops here breathing down our necks! Stay out of those welps way and no more trouble," he snaps rising from his table. "You have six hours before sundown and then you're fair game," he warns then points to the door.
Muttering in Dwarvish the warforge comes forward to release Griff. The metal man seems to move with an efficiency of movements and does not convey a hint of emotion.

Perception:23 to hear what was said in Dwarvish. (Karnic knows dwarvish)
"If we only have six hours before sundown, we should probably get going on our shopping. That amount of time can go by quickly." Karnic says to everyone.

Flint will nod to the Dwarf before turning to his companions. "Alright, make your purchases quick I suppose and we will get out of here." Then, turning to Isk he would ask "Where are we headed first?"
Garrett stood quietly as the conversation took place. When he was told they were free to leave he stepped to the dwarf and bowed.
"I thank you for your mercy and consideration in this matter. And thank for your service. "
With that said he will straighten and make his way out the door.
Once outside he will wait for the others and then head for the nearest store.
Along the way he will smirk at Griff "Well, that was worth something at least. We know when the maze opens. Now we just need to know where. "
Garrett will then try to make telepathic contact with his familiar to see if it is close and if it is what it can tell him of what happened to the seven.
”...yeah and we know there’s a group that seems to have an escort to the maze. It might not have been our finest work, but we didn’t come out emoty handed”
Once Griff steps outside his demenor changes almost immediately. A small smile emerges as the corner of his mouth starts to curl upwards. He stretches out the. takes a big breath and waits for the rest of the party with Garret.
After hearing a few or his companions voice their eagerness to get their shopping done, Flint would start walking towards the smithy first. Turning to face everyone while walking backwards a moment would say "So I was thinking stopping for weapons, then magic items... followed by the general store?"
Flint nod and turn back around, making his way back to the smithy. While walking he continues to keep his eyes open for the seven rivals from the tavern, as well as his ears open.... in the hopes of hearing the ringing of the anvil he heard earlier. A small smile forming on his lips.
